Heading to London next weekend with a couple of mates, and we want to visit a nice casino.

Being from the Scottish highlands we have zero casino's up here & this will be my first casino visit, so just asking to see if someone with some local knowledge can point us in the right direction.

Will be staying in Camden Street, we're there most of Friday, Saturday & leave Sunday night.

Any help much appreciated

Best bet is Leicester Square, you have the Hippodrome - three floors of gaming, the Empire Casino and G Casino all within a few minutes walk of each other.

You could always get the Central Line to Stratford and go to the UK's biggest Super Casino Aspers!

If you play slots then the Hippodrome on those nights is a waste of time as they will be full. Nip to the Empire in Leicester Square and try out the new Novoline VIP games...they also have a 2nd casino called Napoleons downstairs with 20 more slots so no problem finding a machine there, even on Saturday night.

For card games, I'd go to the Hippodrome and head downstairs to Lola's first. A bit less busy. Hippodrome and Empire get busy but there are usually seats at both every night.

All that said, I would head over to Stratford and go to Aspers Casino at the top of the Westfield Shopping Centre one evening. They are the only London casino with a Super Casino licence so you get 150 slots and loads of tables. Yes it's out of town but go in the afternoon and you get a huuuuuge shopping centre and an excellent food court one floor down from the casino: a total day out pretty much :)

I think the overground railway runs direct from Camden Road station to Stratford too so should be easy..or it's on the Jubilee and central line.

It's maybe worth pointing out the very central London casinos like hippodrome and empire have the novamatics set on the horrid 90% RTP setting. Some of the less flashy slightly more out of the ones like Grovesnor Victoria casino on Edgware road set them at 94% which is a much nicer playing experience. It is worth mentioning anyway.

Got home late last night from the weekend away, had an awesome time, Had a smaller G casino next to my hotel (Giles G casino, I think) It was alright, had a couple of good wins on the slots and roulette table.

Hit up the Hippodrome on Saturday night, and it was excellent, service was amazing, we got a tour of the place (as we hadn't been before) Sat down at the roulette table, and didn't realise it was a £5 chip table :eek2: was used to the £1 chip table at the earlier mentioned Grosvenor casino, I though ah well may aswell go with it, bought in £50, and left 10 spins later with a sizeable raise :D

All in all I had a great time, easy to see how people can go broke at these places, I set myself limits and stuck to them, One of my mates had a horrid time on blackjack all weekend, till our last visit to the G casino on Sunday before leaving and he clawed a fair bit back.

So thanks for the recommendations, enjoyed it

What an adventure! I think that's one of my goals this year.....haven't been to a land based casino, just into online but once in a while wouldn't hurt :p
