Howdy..Great place to come and get information about online casinos, thanks for looking out for us players....

Anyway, a problem with Liberty Slots, maybe not a deal breaker but it does get my Spidey sense tingling a bit.

Was playing a game called "Princess Jewels". It states clearly on the playing field and pay table that three bonus symbols on any active/non-active pay lines triggers bonus feature. Trust me, having hit these bonus symbols many, many times, only active pay line triggers the bonus round. Wanting to get clarification I contacted live chat. After submitting my question and waiting over 30 minutes for an answer, live support returns to tell me that it in no way says non-active triggers bonus round and that she personally checked.

Nope, wrong.

It clearly states it as I described above. Now maybe this isn't a big deal to some of you, it's a big deal to me. If I can't get an honest answer to a simple question about a statement that is clearly misrepresented, what happens if there's big money on the line? I try to be careful when playing online, that's why I follow this great site and try to at least protect myself as well as I can so I don't get ripped off.

I'm not feeling warm and fuzzy about this simply because when a simple issue is mishandled in a dishonest way, then, like I stated above, what happens if there's thousands on the line? I certainly do not want to torpedo an honest casino by any means, but we as online players need to be careful...
Thanks and good luck..

I just looked up the game and it does say that any active/non active payline it will trigger. I know this to be wrong since I have played this game for many years when English Harbour was around. I do not know why they have this wrong, but it is. Only on active paylines does this feature trigger.

Maybe someone will point the CS from Liberty to this thread to have this wording corrected?

I guess it must have been a typo because it doesnt make sense to say that the bonus is triggered on active paylines/ non-active paylines when you can say the bonus is triggered whenever 3 bonus symbols appears anywhere.

As for the complaint, rarely, if ever, are live chat staff able to handle tech issues on the functioning of slots on the spot. It would be better to send an email to support, let them study the issue for a couple of days and then revert.

How strange is this?

What is shows on the instant game version.

Need a dang magnifier to read it. It says "3 Fairy Godmothers on any selected payline triggers the Bonus Round".

try to play it with only 1 line active... could be meant that it has to be on a payline but it doesnt have to be active

Scattered anywhere and on a Non-Active Pay-Line are NOT the same thing.

They could mean these 3 symbols on any of the 9 win-lines - whether you are paying for that line or not - starts the feature.

Need a dang magnifier to read it.
Did you try fixing your ScreenShots the way I suggested in the Winner Screenshot thread last week?
It's only something very simple that you must be doing wrong...

Thanks for the replies..Not a huge issue I know, and we could argue semantics of scatter vs. non-active. I am probably not the gambler like most of you, just wanted feedback. Yeah live support isn't all powerful, but like I stated in my post live chat shouldn't pee down my back and tell me it's raining. I am also willing to give them the benefit of the doubt for the sake of being paranoid, just hope I don't have to refer back to this one small issue when suddenly something happens and I'm out big bucks....we will see...Peace...

Hi All,

Just wanted to jump in here and clarify some things that may help with this misunderstanding, as the game functions and pays out correctly according to the rules.

There are 2 different versions of the Princess Jewels slot game. One version is featured in the download client and a different version in the flash client.

While the games seem similar, there are differences in both, one notable difference being the trigger for the bonus games. Here are the differences.

1. Paylines are different in both games
2. Bonus Triggers
a. Download: The bonus will trigger if 3 symbols appear on a payline. The payline can be either active (player bets on the payline) or inactive (player does not bet on the payline). An inactive payline would be if the symbols appear on line 5 but the player only bet 3 coins. The bonus would still trigger in this case.
b. Flash: The symbols must appear on an active payline.

There may have been confusion with the Customer Service rep you spoke to and they may not have been aware of this difference in versions and only checked the flash casino.

I hope this helps to clear up this mix up, but if anyone has further questions please contact me.

Regards,

Dylan

This clears things up, but surely you set yourselves up for this kind of incident by having two different games that are designed to look the same, and have the same name. This is a recipe for confusion, and if your own CS are confused, what about the players?

Having different versions of what is essentially the same game is VERY unusual, and I think this is the first time I have heard of an example like this. More often, we have "clone" games, such as Microgaming's Thunderstruck, Ladies Nite, Spring Break, etc. These are the same, and there are other games that are almost the same as these, but with minor differences. At least each has been given a different name, so there is no way of playing Thunderstruck in the download, and then Ladies Nite in Flash, and wondering about a minor difference you thought you saw. If there was a difference, you would expect it, because with different names, there is not the expectation that the games will be EXACTLY the same.

In this case, it is the same game by name and design, and the differences are in the paytables and bonus trigger. A player may play in Flash, and then play what is supposedly the same game in download, so when they see it behaves in a different way, they conclude that it is due to a fault, which they complain to CS about.

It would be better to make the different versions clearer. Microgaming, for example, have TWO games called Thunderstruck. The newer one is called "Thunderstruck II" to make it clear it is a different game even before it is launched, but in this case the differences are not at all minor, and are obvious when the games are launched.

For Tomb Raider and Lord of the Rings, Microgaming used a subtitle to qualify each version, so the second Tomb Raider game is qualified, "Tomb Raider - secret of the sword", where as the original is simply "Tomb Raider". It became irrelevant with LOTR though, since they removed the earlier version, so although different, there is still only one LOTR game available.

Well, now this is interesting. I can't get Liberty Slots to download to I have been playing the Flash version. Now I wonder what the differences really are.

@KK - haven't been back to the screenshot thread but will go now. Thanks and I sure hope it helps.

Thank you !! I thought it was unusual as well. Does Playing a flash version of the game effect or would it be affect(lol) the payout percentage of the game? Sometimes I'm not in the mood to open casino or want to change it up and will play a flash version or quickie. Do all casinos do this? I just don't get the justification for changing how a bonus round is triggered by how you play the game? Or What version you use of the game? It's just one of those things that make me want to go hmmmmmmmmm.

Hi Again,

I completely agree and understand the confusion, however, this is the software package we were supplied from the provider (Wager Gaming Tech). I spoke to our rep at WGT and they informed me the only other game with similar differences is What's Your Sign? which has different paylines between flash vs. download.

As a licensee our only option would be to remove the game from one of flash or download - either that or wait until a the newer version is released on Flash, which we have requested.

Regards,

Dylan
