Lazy Black beans

I've been making black beans from scratch for more than 35 years. They are a favourite of mine, and requiring no pre-soaking, seem to be one of the easiest and reliable.

But a couple of years ago, I came across this recipe, threw my past 30 years out of the window. But add a couple of bay leaves. It's better and they are cheap and you may have them in your pantry already. I'm a huge believer in sauteeing and building layers of flavours, but the simplicity of this does not just perform easier, it performs better IMO, and that a of a few friends that have been eating my black beans over the last couple of decades.
