Slotsmillion sister site confirmed closing on the 6th May. Another one closing UK operations - we are going to be left with the big bookmakers only by the end of the year at this rate.

They aren't closing UK operations.
They're closing completely
I never did understand why operators need to open so many of their own casinos, white labels, fair enough, since they're semi-independently operated.
But there's bound to be some duplication of staff and management when one company opens several identical sites itself. (disregarding those different sites aimed at different geographical markets)
Why not concentrate on making ONE site REALLY GOOD

Yeah, closing completely - Just read the e-mail.

couple of things....

* No redirect to Slots Million (as we see with other closures) which would have been the 'good business' thing to do, no info but are they to follow suit??

*Did not see this coming, most closures have been 'small fry' or the lesser active 'sister' sites of the big guns, thought, although new, these had a pretty sound player base?

Unsure but it wouldn't surprise me. Both of them I've heard nothing from recently - either offers, new games - general promotion or 'hey, we exist'. Coupled with their recent trend towards delayed payment, makes you wonder.

Good point. Had totally forgot about them to be fair and now my memory has been jogged they did used to both e-mail a couple of times per week.

Bonus restrictions on their offers, along with limited (in comparison) providers and as you say slow payers wouldn't have helped them, some casinos seem to have a fetish of shooting themselves in the feet!

This. Slotsmillion had a chance to be a good casino but seem to have fell from the face of the earth recently.

I can never get my head round why a casino, after spending money to get new customers, seem to think thats it, you don't have to do any more. It doesn't have to be bonuses (although I know that can help more) just an email every week or so telling you about new games or something, just so the customer doesn't forget them. Like you I can't remember the last email I got from either LadyLucks or Slotsmillion.

Did you check the e-mail box in the casino privacy/comm settings? If you did, you'll get bugger-all.

I think it’s exacerbated by the fact that, at the start, they sent you one a day usually. And then, can’t remember when, it just died off completely.

Either their promo/PR team are a bit inept or they don’t care for customer retention. Whatever, odd way to run a casino - for example, wasn’t planning specifically on depositing on Sky Vegas, but got an email and they’ll see a cheeky 20 i was gonna use tonight.

Thats exactly what I mean. Because they sent you an email, they will get £20 from you tonight. Thats £20 more than slotsmillion will, because they didn't spend £0.00 on mass mailing the database. You might think your £20 is nothing, but if 1000 customers all think the same, then it is.

Customer retention is everything. Yes you want new customers if you are a casino, but you want them to keep spending, not deposit £50 for a 100/200% bonus then never login again.

Makes me laugh when I see affiliates moaning about low earnings from xx casino, well don't bloody promote them if they aren't any good for long term customer spend. It's not hard to see which casinos value customers, I won't promote anyone I haven't already signed up to and haven't tried to keep me engaged as a customer.
