Question Konami's Half Hearted Online Slot Venture

So 2 years ago I was very excited to learn of Konami coming to the online slots world, most of all for China Shores.

Unfortunately the games were wheeled out on a paltry 94% RTP, on a somewhat unpolished framework, and only made available (to my knowledge) in one, non-accredited, small time casino.

My question is.... if anyone knows.. since online is where it's at these days, what were (are) they thinking?! They still seem to be doing plenty of business in land based stuff but online seems completely dead. Disappointing.

Yeah agree with your points, I think you're talking about MoneyGaming as the only online site? The games there are cheapened versions of the ones you see in Vegas.

As Amsterdam is only 40 minutes away from London and as little as £11.99 air fare, you can play loads of them in the land-based casino and win incredible sums of money. That's what I do some weekends as it's a much better experience (and cheaper) than visiting the Novomatic dominated London casinos these days.

I think Konami must have realised they peaked with Track and Field and decided to stay with video games and land based casinos instead :)

Imagine a Castlevania slot, that would be swell

But I'd settle for Frogger :D

Yeah I too have also wondered what Konami are playing at. I too have waited and waited for them to become available for us online. But still we wait. I suspect we will be waiting many more years yet still too. :(

Or perhaps Metal Gear Solid?

A lot of companies struggle to come up with titles or develop intellectual property - they've got an archive of circa 40 years of games and media that have sold globally :)

Fingers crossed they bring these ideas to online casino gaming.

An online Track and Field slot would be brilliant in an 8-bit style like Flame Busters.

It does astound how Konami don't port their range of classics to online slots. The diverse range of franchises is immense, and much-loved. I'd be all over them pretty much all the time.

It's not like they've kept the sanctity of video games separate from gambling....they've happily broken that barrier already. Perhaps they just won't tarnish the memories of those IPs because players hold them in high regard, who knows.

If done well, Konami could clean up online. They already flaunt Metal Gear Solid as Pachinko machines. Yet Konami are a very, very strange company, even by Japanese standards. Their ethics are wonky at best....look what they did with Hideo Kojami and the acrimonious parting with the MG Solid franchise. Now they're happy to turn it into a zombie shooter :what:

Konami is too conflicted to really make a dent into the gambling industry, unfortunately

Yep, Moneygaming. An odd little site.

Thanks for the tip about Amsterdam. I'm only 20 minutes' drive away from the Genting "Super Casino" at the NEC but as you say, Novo dominated.

Okey dokey then, that's that theory laid to rest. Am quite looking forward to seeing what they have lined up for online
