King Solomons - what happened?

Anybody has a clue what happened with my favourite casino spot? All of a sudden, I cannot login, and keep getting messages that either 'my account info is wrong' or
'they cannot accept bets from my jurisdiction'...

I was playing there since december, and last time was logged-in this morning, with no problem of any kind.

Their homepage looks different, too. So what's wrong? Is it my PC problem, or anybody knows...?

Might be something to do with the fact they have just announced they are switching to PLAYTECH

Though that's not happened yet, and I logged in OK tonight to play off the odd $20 I'd had sitting there for a couple of months with no problems... except I didn't hit that darned progressive!

They have a rep here - why not PM him?

Aren't they still accredited here? If so, why haven't they bothered to inform everyone of the switch...?

Didnt they used to be Microgaming?

Hmmm... I don't recall that...

All I know is I got a surprise e-mail out of the blue from the affy team today saying they were switching software.
It doesn't even say when...(?)

I guess we'll all find out soon enough.

Yeah. They were originally MG. I think they were one of the earliest online casinos. There sure are alot of MG casinos that are now RTG and Playtech. Too bad, lol.

Thank you for all your responses!
I managed to contact Live Chat yesterday once, and they told me that no change was introduced on that day, and that I am supposed to be able to login without problems. I cleared my cache, restarted PC, and had no success...

The homepage is different (even signup bonus is different - 2020 instead of 350 it used to be), so my first thought was that this page is highjacked, LOL.

I did not succeed in reaching support since then, and I am verrrrrry alarmed. I have substantial (for me) amount in my account, both in balance and pending withdrawals.. and I cannot access it!

PLEASE - can you name representative for KS here on forum? Thank you

OH! MY! GOD!
I just noticed that the KS Terms changed, too - without any notice. It appears that my country is no longer allowed  Yesterday I played, and today I am persona non-grata?! Do I automatically lose all money I have had in my account?? Oh no... it would ruin me totally....:confused:

Sorry, guess I was over-emotional in my last two posts. It got a bit clearer for me now, after I reached Support phone number (in Canada, because I could not dial other numbers from my location).

What I understood, is that casino indeed changed provider and software. And apparently - Terms & Conditions. However, I was given a link to access old casino version, where my account is accessible. The canadian Support rep was beyond praise - so polite and understanding :) Thanks God. Otherwise, I feel I would have heart attack right here in front of my PC...

This must be their third software provider move; they started with MGS then moved to RTG and now to Playtech. Not sure what their corporate group identity is at present - it used to be Empire of Gold.

The Playtech move will mean that they are closed to US players, I guess.

They were already closed to USA players while using RTG anyway, so that doesn't make any difference.

What surprises me is why move from one software with a history of rogue operators to another one who's reputation is not much better... :eek2:
If it were me I'd go for MG or Crypto - so I can only assume these platforms are way more expensive.

I just wonder if I get my money safely, will post update here next week when withdrawl is due to appear on my account...

This does not bode well for their credibility, why NO NOTIFICATION AT ALL, even to players with SUBSTANTIAL FUNDS ON ACCOUNT:what:

Whatever the outcome, this just SCARES THE *&^% out of players who find they can play one day, leave a balance overnight, and find themselves locked out without explanation the next day.

I see no need to move to Playtech from RTG, except perhaps to escape the "rogue" image that RTG have in their main markets, which are now Europe.

It is interesting that they have increased the list of "banned" countries, clearly they are pulling out of markets even though no formal legislation has been passed to outlaw online gambling in most of these.

Since they are not interested in the USA anyway, why choose Playtech over MG. MG is seen as a better brand since they benefit from the MG "trust fund" that protects players in the event that the group goes bust, something that has been lacking with Playtech, where some operators have recently "gone bust" leaving unpaid players. Using MG should also make it easier for them to apply for the eCogra seal, as this software is already accepted, and it would only be necessary to vet the operator.

Current players should take this as a warning to re-read the terms and conditions, just in case there is something else other than their country being banned that may affect them.

I'm glad you were able to make contact with someone that could ease your mind and now you don't have to have that heart attack. ;)

Still.......for them to not notify their customers of the changes, shows a complete lack of regard for their customer base.

I remember when there was a fairly large exodus from MG to RTG and then later from MG to Playtech. If i remember i think MG was something like 3-4 times the cost of RTG and Playtech so there was alot of incentive for the moves. Unfortunately the relatively low cost of RTG and Playtech also allowed alot of shaky people to start casinos. I think that is a big reason that these two platforms have such a bad reputation.

Dear bb28, thank you for your most kind post :)
'Hear attack' may be exaggeration to some extent on my part, but as one can easily guess I truly felt like being kicked in the stomach, not able to catch my breath and seeing red. :eek2:
Calling Canada - out of all places! - was a bizzare idea, and thanks God, it worked. At least, it let me calm down a bit. Still, I wouldn't be able to totally relax before I see all of my 5K+ safely back in my bank account ;)

Just noticed today that my withdrawal of $1000 to neteller was declined... let's see and hope.

King Solomons Casino

Hello Guys

Apologies for not posting earlier re this

We have essentially opened up King Solomons Casino on 2 platforms . The RTG platform will still operate for players that prefer that platform and will be based at Link Removed ( Old/Invalid) - Fleur - dont panic all is good and nothing at the Casino will change .

The domain

will be used for the Playtech platform . There are a number of reasons behind this move but i am not going to bore you with them .

A lot of people will say a lot of things about moving platform and why not to this platform etc etc but at the end of the day as long as we keep looking after our players that is what matters .

With regards to not communicating this to players - we tread a fine line when doing things of this nature . If we dont email our players we get asked why we didnt email them and if we do we could be accused of trying to switch over players to a new software and thus decimate the earnings of our marketing partners - so its a no win situation that we find ourselves in ;)

On a positive note - the Casino celebrates its 10th birthday this year and not many operations have actually passed that milestone. SO you can expect some major Fireworks this year from King Solomons on both platforms

Guys if you have any questions at all - as ever i am at your service

Regards
Greg

PS - Thanks for the heads up Nifty

Assumptions

You are so wrong - although i wish you were right and a lot of players like Playtech - also all softwares have had thier issues with operators and as we have shown in the past we tend to rise above that ,a good operator means a better peice of software for players as its the operators who drive change

Thanks for your reassuring post. I apologize if I over-reacted, but I hope you may understand - I tried to login and got completely different site. Browsed throught new Terms - and noticed that my country is now blacklisted... enough to freak anybody out ;)

My first priority is to see if my withdrawals are processed as usual. And question number two - can I ever play in KS (either 'platform) again, being from non-grata country? Will it be, like, legal? Thank you again.

So let me get this straight; you are going to continue to run the existing RTG casino and a new Playtech casino and call both of them 'King Solomons'?
This makes absolutely no sense at all to me
Since you recently dumped the Geisha Lounge & Grand Aces RTG's why didn't you use one of these names for the new Playtech?

I'm not 'having a go' or anything - I am just struggling to understand the logic here... :eek2:

They will regret this;)

This will lead to no end of confusion, and players who are allowed to play at the RTG are going to see the site for the Playtech, and believe their custom is no longer wanted. The split will also cause problems at the RTG site, with the Random Jackpots having less input, which will give the appearance of a "dead" casino, driving those players that prefer RTG to try another RTG of similar quality, but more life in the RJs.
Further confusion will exist over bonus rules, because BOTH are called King Solomon's. Some players may believe their accounts have been migrated to Playtech, and will try to log in as they did when Main Street made the move.
They already have Windows casino under Playtech, and really should have created a Playtech version of one of the earlier closed RTG casinos.
They could then have marketed the Playtech to their existing player base, just as they did with Windows.

Ya Think???...You are so right, do not worry about the players, keep those marketing partners happy....Business as usual just like Casino Action...I'm jus sayin,bra!....No More;););)

An update: on a positive note, all withdrawals pending at a time when the original site 'dissapeared' were processed. So I got back all money I so worried about ;)

A not-so-positive news, is that two emails I sent to Support (enquiring about changes, my new status and whether I can continue to play) remained unanswered. A pity, since I really liked that casino, and would love to remain a member...
