RIP POS CANCER

It's been a very long and emotional day, but I am blessed to say.I AM DONE! Last treatment was today. I rang the bell 3x's and when everyone, strangers included started clapping and cheering. I broke. I started sobbing like a baby. lol. It will be a year next month that I started feeling like crap, October when I found the lump. January when I got the diagnosis. And you guys know the rest. I want to thank Bryan for allowing the GoFund Me, and everyone who helped through this screwed up journey, whether it was monetary or just plain listening to me..THANK YOU! i sincerely hope good things have come to you. I tried posting my picture but it keeps saying its to large. I'm to tired to figure out how to reformat it. Colin is on my facebook and has seen it, for others who want to, you can see it on my facebook. And yes those are real tears :). I'm going to take the next couple of weeks to heal my body and mind, and then start on websites so I can be an affiliate!
Thanks again. I can now close this chapter for hopefully many, many years to come

It has been an honour to follow your progress Jen. Well done for staying strong and kicking its arse :D x

Thanks guys! :D:D:D:D:D
I have a 4 week follow up, August 15th with the radiation oncologist. Then a CT scan and ultrasound before I am allowed to say I am in remission. I will be then sent back to my primary medical oncologist. Then every 6 months for 5 years I will have a mammo, then bone scan, brain scan once a year for 5 years. Then it goes to 10 years. :p

You are long overdue some luck so fingers crossed the results find you in remission and you become a survivor of cancer - it's still a raw subject for me, father died due to pancreatic cancer two months ago, amazingly he held on for 18 months after being told it was terminal and he had four months to live.

Sadly I lost my father May 12th to cancer. He was diagnosed in November with Lung and Liver and it had spread to his chest. He did the radiation but didnt survive. I am very sorry for your loss. It is a horrible, horrible disease! My prognosis was not good, even though I caught it early, but I can't and wont focus on that. Unfortunately you can do every thing in your power to live a healthy life, but it has no boundary on who its going to chose.

Ring that bell, ring that bell, that bell! I'm half laughing, half crying. It has finally sunk in.....IM DONE! Woohooo

I lost my mom about 9 years ago to multiple myeloma (75). And my dad on Monday to brain cancer (he would have been 90 on Wednesday). Both were very active and were in great health most of their lives. So yeah, you just don't know. It sucks.

Sorry to hear about your Dad and Mom. It doesn't matter how old they were it is always hard. Condolences.

So sorry to hear! I'm afraid we will be hearing this more often :( Stats just came out for Canada , that 1 in 2 people will be diagnose with cancer in 2017/18. I'm not quite sure in how they can predict this? It is way too many people. I really hope your parents didn't suffer long. My sincere condolence.

And thank you! :)

Winnings

I finally won some money, and taking some of it and treating myself to a trip! I am going to Alberta first week of September to see my Auntie, who I haven't seen in 30 years! She is not able to travel. I am so excited and I think it's well deserved! :D:D:D

Glad to hear your luck has changed. Enjoy your win and more importantly enjoy the much deserved break :)

Don't know if there are still seats left at sale prices, but Via Rail had some awesome deals on the train depending on where in Alberta you are going. It's a different .kind of travel, and certainly not cheaper than flights, but I was looking a few weeks back at them. Not cheaper than flights for sure, but reasonable steeply discounted, with maybe a flight home.

I'd been looking for myself a bit ago, but my eyesight is so bad I don't think I'd enjoy the scenerary as much as I might otherwise.

Good that you have an auntie to go stay with. Price of accomodation sends us Canucks elsewhere when travelling.

If you are in and out of Edmonton by anychance, pm Chayton. She's a longtime online friend and a great gal I've always wanted to meet in real life.

Just not enough to fly to Edmonton and stay in a hotel instead of 17 days in Malta.

Calgary is an awesome city too, I've had the pleasure of staying about a week there over a decade ago. Only time I've eaten beef every single day in all my life. Prime Alberta beef.

We all deserve a hoiday, but I think maybe you cetainly do right about now.

Not much like a brush with death to make us want to seize the day and find joy and adventure.

I have many things, not just gambling, that I may have wished I spent the money otherwise, but no trip was ever one of them.

Even though you last saw her 30 years ago, she knew you when and the generation above us has wisdom and experience of the knowlege of how your parent grew up.

I need to make a real effort to see my last surviving aunt, and she's not as far as Alberta. I spoke with her by phone at Easter, but she's 93 now. My cousin that she lives with is 70 I think, but his long time girlfriend is a pretty lively 65, but still working and they do live rural, so driving and work and stuff, and no bed to put me up in.

Hope your aunt is young enough and active enough to run you ragged!

My aunt is the bomb! 73 years old, hunts, fishes, smokes weed  hahahaha. I love her to pieces! But I wont be going until spring now. The cancer did a number on my teeth and I have to get them fixed. Cha ching! My worst nightmare , seriously my worse, is losing my teeth. Ever have dreams that your teeth have fallen out, and you wake up freaking? Well my whole back teeth have to get pulled :( I'm going to look like a druggie until they heal and I can get partials. On the plus side, I have gained 4lbs of my lost weight since I stopped treatments 5 weeks ago! :D
