Jackpot Capital "new" payment policy to US players

The cheques may have been Canadian, but were they in Canadian dollars? It's possible to have a Canadian cheque drawn in US Dollars....or any other currency for that matter.

Someone needs to post a scan of one of these cheques so we can see the currency. No way will a bank take a cheque in CAD and credit you the same amount in USD.....they would be losing 4% of the value of every cheque. The currency must be converted to its equivalent in USD.

I wonder whether stovetopp may have received an erroneous cheque I.e. it was printed as CAD instead of USD. It may have been a mistake by the processor...??

All I know is that currency is ALWAYS converted at the bank rate and NEVER 1:1 (unless the currencies involved are equal which is unlikely).

It may have been an error because Yasmeen was surprised when I told her it was CD dollars. Unfortunately, I did not even look at the check. Prior to this month ,I was depositing checks almost weekly so just took it for granted it was okay.
I tried to get an image of the check but said on line that it was "processing" so I would have to wait 48 hours. Yasmeen will also check with the bank.
If this was indeed a bank error I must apologize for causing all this stir but MUST blame the person at JC who told me it has been a polcy to use CD banks and that the funds would be in CDN currency which I didnt mind if they had converted my dollars . Will let you know as soon as resolved

I think I have been one of the first person on this forum to play at JC which was long long ago when they werent even credited. I t would be nice if after a policy change they could at least
ask us to review by way of that message box inthe casino. Else one would have to ck each day
to see if any changes. I think this happened when they changed their WR from 20 times to 30 timeS D+B t

Something is amiss here.

If you get a $3k cheque in Canadian currency, drawn on a Canadian bank (well the bank shouldn't matter actually), you can't deposit it into your English pound sterling bank account and end up with $STG3000. It's just not how banking works.

If its not too much legwork Diane, it might be worth asking your bank why your $CAD wasn't converted to $USD at the proper exchange rate. Maybe there was something on the cheque that makes it different to normal cheques?

Either way, payments should be sent in the account currency at the casino.

The check "said" US dollars on it -- but bank told me the routing number on check only had 8 digits. With only 8 digits it was still considered to be in Canadian funds. I did not lose any money. Requested $3k got $3k.

The 8 digit number is related entirely to the bank and not the funds.

Cheques can be drawn in any currency on any bank.

If the currency on the check is USD, then that is what it is....and is why you received your exact amount in USD, because it was USD. Your bank person has not explained it correctly. The only thing "Canadian" about the funds is that they are being drawn on a Canadian bank......the funds themselves are USD.

Yes Candian banks are 8 digits on the ABA#, but if its marked in US Dollars it going to be in US dollars. Lots of businesses in Canada will also have US Dollar accounts in addition to their standard CAD account. The routing # has nothing to do with what type of currency, the account it is drawn on will make the determination of the currency. So in the case of your 3k it was abviously marked USD and the account is obviously a USD account.

It is beginning to look that these checks from the canadian bank are drawn in USD. The biggest downfall will be the clearing time. It takes a bit longer for the a Canadian check to be routed in the US. Most banks will have longer than normal clear times, and yes indeed up to 3 weeks could be possible depending on who you bank with.

Long clearance times, but maybe fewer duds. It seems one big problem has been checks ending up as duds by the time players present or cash them, and often this has been down to the speed at which source accounts change in order to stay ahead of detection. A Canadian bank account would be more stable in this respect, and since there are already close ties between the two countries, US citizens depositing US Dollar checks from Canadian banks will look more routine than some of the more exotic methods of payment that have been tried.

It may not last, as statistically it will eventually show as a surge in the number of Canadian issued checks deposited by ordinary US citizens, and the banks may look more deeply into the reasons for it.

Would it not be easier for the casinos to just switch to the Canadian dollar as some RTG casino groups configure theirs for Euros or UK pounds. Keeping the US Dollar out of things altogether makes things safer.
That might be easier if they ONLY took USA & Canadian players - but what about the rest of the world?
The "international casino currency" is $US and I'm sure players from other countries would not be happy to have to have their $US converted to $CAD every time they deposit, and then back again when they withdraw. I know I wouldn't! :(

I only repeated what the bank told me. I have no knowledge of how this works.

"Have to send it to another source for conversion into US dollars" Knowing it was a Canadian bank I took what they said at face value.

But bottom line, I got full amount expected one week later. No adjustment for currency exchange.

When I recently deposited two Canadian checks, one from Slotastic and one from JackpotCapital, my bank deposited the checks in the full amount and then made an additional charge of $1.30 each for the banking of a foreign check.

Of course there was the usual $30.00 transfer fee from the casino.

My only withdrawals (and most deposits, come to think of it) have been to/from the Sloto group in the past year, via wire transfer. I have to ask, why would you play where a transfer fee is "usual"? Sloto/Desert Nights doesn't do this - if you request 2200, you get 220 usd deposited into your account. Is it that you don't like wire transfers? (And really, if your bank is going to investigate your account, checks are no safer than wires.

Hi Labeled,

First of all I have very limited choice of places to play, because not only am I in the US, but where I live there is only Dial Up Internet available, and most of the RTG places error out when I try to download them. Even LuckyClub errored from a disc.

However, I don't know if Slotastic is part of the "Sloto Group" or not, but that is what I have available. I just checked their withdrawal requirements, to be sure that I make a correct statement here.

Their Wire Transfer fee is $60.00 plus whatever the bank will charge for receiving a wire, plus it takes 10 to 20 days to process said transfer.

Western Union fee is $65.00 to $180.00 up to a $2000.00 withdrawal. I don't know what happens after that, but no thank you!

My only choice left for the US is by Check Courier(Fedex) for a $30.00 fee which they say is waived sometimes, but I don't think I have ever seen one of those critters.

My only real complaint is that they are using a Canadian Bank. While this is sent in US Dollars, it still means that the check cannot be uploaded via my iPhone direct to my bank nor to my Savings Acc't Bank, because they will not accept "foreign" bank checks by way of photo transfer.

That means that I must find someone to stay with my ailing husband while I make a fast trip to my brick and mortar bank to make a physical deposit. When checks are from US banks it is very simple to make a deposit from home.

To each our own!

Mary Jean...I am fascinated...I have never heard of uploading s check directly from your phone. I have a business and have never heard of that; of course I'm from a small town with small banks, maybe that's why.

Hi Butterfly,

Your bank has to have the program installed. My Wells Fargo has just recently started it.

I can now photo the front and back of a check via their program within their app and it goes directly into my account. They do a little verifying to be sure they can read it clearly, and then send me an e-mail to tell me if it has been accepted and if not why not and what I should do to rephoto it or to bring it in for deposit. At this time they have an upper limit of $1000 but they assured me that this would increase when they were sure that the program was working.

My savings bank ING also has that capability with the added feature that checks can be scanned with a scanner and the image uploaded that way. Therefore if you don't have a photo capable phone you can use your desktop computer. It is really great. They go up to $3000.00.

Neither, however will accept uploaded foreign checks.-----So---check with your bank---it really is faster.

Not sure if this is the right place to post this...

But, Damn!!! This is just ridiculous!!! What I don't get, is why can't all RTG casinos follow the same guide lines? If Inetbet can process withdrawals in 24 hours and on weekends, why can't everyone else? If ClubWorld, can pay people using 3 different methods, why can't everyone else? If you are playing in USD, you should be paid in USD drawn on an US bank. If these places accept America players, they should be prepared to pay them in their own currency.

It seems like just about everyday there is another new thread started about some bullshit, lame ass excuse about withdrawals and new terms and conditions added. Then they come back with these bullshit terms that were "put into place" a few months ago but never feel the need to inform their American players about them. Why the hell should they, if it is going to cost them 4%.

Then lets not forget the waiting times on some casinos website are not correct. It says 24-48 hours pending, hell that was well over a year ago, things have changed then and some places have not updated their web site. Then when it is brought out on the forums you get the same sorry lame ass excuse "Sorry, I will look into that and see what happened". I don't give a shit what happened, process the withdrawal in the time frame that is stated by your website. Even if that means someone has to stay 5 minutes late to do so. Just yesterday I got a promotion and at the bottom of the email it said deposit methods.... EWALLETXPRESS. What the hell is up with that? I thought is was some moron affiliate, but it wasn't it was from the casinos "Promotions Department".

This bullshit of cutting checks on Canadian banks is just that Bullshit. If they are going to pull this crap, then they should be sending the funds in a money order or Money Gram or Western Union. Other places do it and there is no reason why this place can't. If they are knowingly doing this, then this casino should be giving you back the 4% in your account. It is that simple.

FYI: Slotastic is loosely related to the Jackpot Capital Group, and has no connection whatever to the Sloto'Cash Group.

MaryJean, I'm sorry if that seemed confrontational, not my intent.

The Sloto group I mentioned seems to have only four casinos, Slotocash RTG, Slots Capital Rival, Desert Nights RTG and Desert Nights Rival. Of those, if you can get either to download, Sloto or Desert Night's RTG's might be a great option for you, with free wire transfers, which usually hit my bank within about 4 days with no intercession on my part.

JC Checks

HI there,

I have just had confirmation from our check issuer and that all our Canadian checks are written in US $.

Therefore, although the issuing account is Canadian, the funds are still sent in US dollars. This will be indicated under the numeric amount on the client's check.

Please contact us if you have any issues.

Kind regards,
Yasmeen

ok Final resolution
JC will always pay from a canadian bank in US DOLLARS.
My bank one of the largest in US just informed me that any checks from Canada in US funds, will automatically be converted as if it were CD dollars but upon clearing the diffwerence is automatically credited to you account.

As for timing , my check cleared overnight so there is no waiting period for me. The only reason I "panicked" was that someone at JC told me that not only was a canadian bank used but would be paid in CD funds. So she didnt kknow what she was talking about
That is it!!

Thanks for getting this clarified.

(Disclaimer: The following mini-rant is not aimed at any particular casino or group.)

Front line CS has been rather sketchy lately as to accuracy. What good does it do us to contact CS (whether email or chat) if we receive wrong information? or CS doesn't actually read and reply to our question(s)? I've said this for years, and I'll say it again, I'd rather poke myself in the eye with a stick than have to contact casino Customer Service.

It's the old story.

You pay peanuts, you get monkeys.

Many operators employ mindless drones who speak only enough English to recite pre drafted responses.

The rest of the world has a vast array of excellent choices available to them on the BEST software platform(s).

Unfortunately we do not. I doubt I would EVER play RTG if I lived elsewhere.

I dont see the big deal? I got a check from them, it was the amount I won, and showed up in my bank the same day I deposited it. No holds, no less money than what I won.
I guess it would be hard if you did not have a bank account, but it has not caused me any issues.
