So First videoslots casino has had issues with depositing and withdraws via paypal and now I just tried grosvenor casino too and that too is the same error message, that I got from VS "Due to regulatory regulations this transaction has been declined"

So it appears that paypal has stopped allowing casino deposits and withdraws to and from. Was this indeed paypal or was this something to do with a new rule from the UKGC?

If anyone could shed some light on it, would be great.

I did do some google searching but I can not find any relevant information or articles that states they have now been banned or stopped? But it is certainly strange that I can also not find any other forum or post or thread about the same issue with other people. Paypal have already said that my account is 100% in good standing, so it can not be anything to do with my paypal account?

Any input from others would be most welcome.

Take care and stay safe and well everyone :)

I think there was something about credit card funded wallets being outlawed. I did a paypal withdrawal on tuesday without a problem. [bank debit card funded]

That was at virgin games, part of the gamesys group [or whatever they're called currently] you could try there, the transaction speed of withdrawals to paypal is same day I find [1-3 hrs]

I've been able to deposit tonight using it (at Grosvenor). If you have a credit card linked to it, I guess the transactions are being stopped?

Probably the only way they can enforce the restriction as the casino won't know if you're using credit or debit card to deposit.

So I'd remove any linked credit cards and try again.

Thanks for the tips, I will try that then. I do not play at Virgin Games.

EDIT: So I removed all linked cards and just kept my bank account linkage. Still it gives the same error. Yes I cleared cache and cookies before I tried as well just to make sure.

So as you can see, I still have the same issue....... So @Mr_Slot5 - that did not work :( No idea how you are able to deposit with paypal then :(

So how can others still be able to and I cant? Do I need to again contact paypal and ask what the hell is wrong with my account even though they checked my account a few days ago and they said all is 100% in good standing and I have no limits on my account!

I am now just totally confused about this and totally gutted and annoyed and fed up :(

Is it not poss to do a straight debit card deposit or perhaps one of these skrill things?

Is paypal your only option?

Grosvernor does not allow skrill or neteller deposits. They used to allow neteller many many many months ago, but they removed it as a deposit option!

And No I will never give a casino my debit card number or bank details EVER!

But this is not just happening at VS now is it for me? So VS team are irrelevant now. IT must now for sure be something to do with my paypal account?

True..something to do with paypal

I don't know if this would help but apparently you can have 2 paypal accounts, maybe if you set up a new one it would be clear of problems?

From Google

Can I have 2 PayPal accounts with the same email?

Each PayPal account must be associated with a different email address. You may have two accounts, but they will each have to have their own email address. 21 May 2012

Yeah I know you can have 2 paypal accounts. You can have 1 business account and 1 normal account. But why would I even need two? I do not need 2 accounts, 1 account is sufficient. I will just have to contact paypal again next week.

Thanks all for the help and tips and advice. :)

Take care and stay safe and well :)

I think you will have to link the PP account to a debit card as internally the credit cards are still recorded. Can you try and register a debit card?

I've been battling with this issue for years as TH has convoluted regulations with regards to using PP. While it was never allowed for casino transactions I had other non-gaming ones declined when I had the credit card linked. It changed ones I registered a debit card. Nobody at PP or my bank knew what the reasons were/are.

I’ve had that error message a few times in the past. It usually clears itself.

It may be that your IP address is being seen by PayPal as non-UK. Try rebooting your router and then try again - may fix it.

You need to add a card back to the account, and not a credit card, or pre paid card (as sometimes they are picked up as credit cards)
Then confirm it
Then give it about 48 hours and it should work, if not then try to get onto paypal about it, but its quite a specialist problem and you might have to speak to a few agents before you get one that understands.

We had the same yesterday with an highly active customers who never had issues.

Basically the error was: Customer must choose new funding source.

So if you have a card connected to your paypal account, and each deposit at a casino you will use your card to top-up paypal it might fail. The card issuer basically makes a risk decline based on velocity.

So as I'm not sure how these algorithms per bank work, I would advice to top-up paypal accordingly before you start using it on a casino.

I'm reasonably sure I top up my PayPal via instant bank transfer, no card of any description involved.

Surely this method would not involve the new UKGC no credit cards thing.

Skrill, despite its reputation for excessive fees are currently not charging for debit card uploads, transfers or deposits ;)

Yep same for me, I just login to my bank and transfer the money I want to my paypal balance and it is instantly deposited into my paypal balance. I now have no cards linked to my paypal account!

I will try the router reset problem and see if that fixes it. I recently also switched my DNS to the google one because my ISP's DNS was having issues and some sites was not working. Could it be perhaps linked to the google DNS I am now currently using?

Thanks all for the tips and advice.

But you do not need to register a debit card with paypal. I just always with every transaction always pay from my paypal balance! I deposit the funds instantly from my bank account which I just login too and click make payment and select paypal account payee then amount etc etc :)

UPDATE: So I just tried the internet reset, that has not made any difference. I also tried using it on phone using the 4g connection which gave me a different IP address etc etc and it is again the same issue! The same error message!

So it must now 100% for sure be something wrong with my paypal account then!

I will just have to contact paypal next week and get them to investigate properly this time and not give up until they do and fix the issue!

Thanks again everyone

Take care and stay safe and well :)

I would try adding a debit card, you can unlink it afterwards, but just as a test

As if I’ve just seen this thread. Had issues with my Paypal since last night...

So you too are getting the same error as me when depositing?

UPDATE: I just again spoke to paypal support agent on the phone before they shut at 6:30pm, I was on the phone to them until now and I explained in detail everything and every step etc etc, they already have the screenshot of the error message from the other day etc etc. So they in the end have now created another new ticket for another department to look into it and investigate it further. Because the first investigations they done found no issues what so ever.

But if @Playford7 can please confirm he to is having the same exact issue as me then please make sure to report it with paypal and create a ticket so they too can get it looked into, it will help us both the more people that report the same error message!

I really have troubleshooted everything. Disabled the google DNS, Used different browsers, used phone instead with a completely different IP address. And still the same issue arises. And this is not just limited to VS, as I said, I get the same error at Grosvenor as well. I have not tried any others, as those are the 2 casinos I use that have paypal. If there is others, I do not play at them or have accounts at them, so I can not test it with them either. But I suspect the issue will be linked to all casino deposits anyway, so it wont make any difference which casino I tried to deposit with paypal with.

I have also not tried making a non gambling transaction with paypal to test it either. I only use paypal to buy some supplies for my vaping and I am fully stocked at the moment, so I have no need to place any orders for anything yet to test non gambling transactions out.
