Personal problems...
Island Joes Casino.com seemed to be out of commission this week, and their support is giving bogus excuses for growing slow payment problems such as "the owner was having some personal problems". When we checked the url went to a blank site bearing only the name of this small operation, which is powered by the Argentinian Futurebet lookalike company Interactive Gaming Systems. The same folks that brought us the teenaged operator of the now defunct Play4treasure.com. We asked this casino for comment on this caution, but as at going to press the only answer we could get to our questions was that the site was undergoing "a reconstruction"
And talking about Play4Treasure...
InfoPowa has been following the case of a player who has struggled for six months...that's right, half a year of his life....to get paid by software provider Interactive Gaming Systems out of Argentina after their teenaged licensee went bust leaving players stranded. Not only did IGS string this player along for six months - they chiselled down the amount owing as well! This disgraceful chapter in online gaming history started when the player was left in the cold and owed $9,360. IGS paid $2,000, but then would only agree to pay $3,000 in three instalments of $1,000. It has taken until this week for the last instalment to be paid, with the player shorted by over $4 000. The incident highlights a number of very apparent inadequacies in IGS - sufficient to indicate that when one of their licensees goes down, players can expect only hassles. First, their selection and policing of licensees would seem to leave a lot to be desired. Then, their dilatory payout and chiselling behaviour on the amount owed is perhaps a warning that cash is not plentiful. Players would be wise to watch for the "Powered by IGS logo"!
