The thing that gets my wick is that anybody can say anything about their own race / colour but as soon as anybody else is involved it is instantly racist..

Rappers are a prime example with the liberal use of N**** which if anyone else said it would be in a lot of trouble..

As for the gender argument . if somebody can identify as non gender / binary or whatever new saying is around , then I am going to identify as either a 15 year old or 65 year old man , instead of middle aged , so then I don’t have to pay tax.

How can people identify as a different gender , but if I want to be identified as a different age I will be laughed at, arrested for being a paedo , or done for tax evasion..

If anybody questions this I will be deeply offended and will have to take further action

If you actually truly don't get a lot of what you posted it might be time to crack a book or two.
Let's start with the N word (or any generally deemed slur); simply, there's one Hell of a large difference from one group using it to put down/keep down another than one group attempting to mitigate or take back power from the ugliness of a word, or even, to use it an entirely different way.
As to age. It is what it is....how many cycles around the sun youve been here.
Gender is a social construct, not a biological one (that would be sex). Plenty of cultures have recognized more than 2 genders - it's hardly a new thing.

If you want a full list of UK slang and foul non-PC expressions, you'll do no better than Roger Melly's Profanisaurus, a book which I was given several years ago.

For educational purposes there is an online version.

You do not have permission to view link Log in or register now.

It contains the Aus ones too. This will stop people embarrassedly asking 'what does that mean then?'

So read and remember these 5,000 inappropriate words, definitions and terms and avoid them. You'll not get any posts reported for offence then. It will help you to avoid mentioning words which have double-meanings.

Thereafter you'll be reduced to an active vocabulary of about 40 words.

WARNING! You will be shocked and laugh at the same time. I mean who'd ever heard of the 'Bourneville Boulevard'?? :eek2:

I never realized English had so many double-entendres and alternative definitions. It'd take me years to use them all in videos.

 Considering the insane amount of words available to use in the English language (never mind synonyms, idioms and regional alternatives), pretty much anyone with a 2nd grade reading level and above should be able to manage and navigate those 'tricky waters' of salty words. :D

It's not so bad when learning it intrsically ex you and I, but to teach, or learn as a second language, it's insanely difficult.

amazing that eh, people can manage to (mostly) spell the offensive words but feign ignorance to its offensiveness :p

On another note, I can recall a fair few words - and we're moving out of slurs into plain ol' expletives (them's swear words, don'tcha know) that once were wholly offensive and have lost so much punch to the pack even your dear granny would say it

Here's one Top Gear got into trouble for a couple of years ago. Now a middle aged bloke and I swear I'd NEVER realized that 'slope' had that definition! I never realized what the furore was all about until the BBC news the next day.

(Background - on one of their international jaunts the Top Gear team had been tasked with 'building a bridge over the river Kwai', referring to the classic war film of the same name where Allied POWs were used as forced labour to build the Japs one.)

Of course they got away with it as it couldn't be proven they weren't referring to the angle of their construction, as opposed to the local Burmese chap walking across it.

used as forced labour to build the Japs one.)
You'd be surprised to know that would be considered an ethnic slur across the most of N. America (yes, I recognize there's a different inference/intent, in other countries, and no, it's isn't simply a liberal, too-sensitve mind-set, but rather umbrage for historical reasons by the offended party)

Jap is offensive because americans used that term in world war 2 when speaking ill about them. Also signs on stores read "no japs allowed, japs not welcome"

But I do remember when speaking about this in class that England, UK etc do not look at that word as offensive. So it depends where you are I guess.

Also, white people cant call black people the N word because it was used by the white people to suppress them. It was used during beatings, slave owners when disciplining them and other racial instances. I have black friends and I can tell you on average blacks do not like when blacks use the word either.

Japs wasn't what the UK soldiers tended to call them, but 'Nips' (as in Nippon). Speaking ill of the enemy is all part of warfare, the motivation of personnel by demonizing and ridiculing the other combatants.

What gets me is that MOST terms for nationalities were never originally offensive, but truncated words that roll off the English speaker's tongue more easily OR a reference to those people's national traditions.

So 'Pakis' was once considered normal, a short word, it was in TV comedies etc. and is now considered legally offensive. And as with the example above about rappers calling each other 'Nigga', in the UK when Pakistan play cricket matches here, their fans chant 'Paki power' much to the bemusement of the England fans to whom the word is forbidden. There ya go.

Then there's the nicknames like Krauts or Frogs for the Germans and French, both originating from foodstuffs (sauerkraut and frogs legs) or 'Cloggies' for the Dutch (after the wooden clogs of their national costume obviously). Then the Americans call us 'Limeys' after the Royal Navy gave their sailors limes to eat to prevent scurvy (was originally 'limesuckers'). These are more humorous than intended for disrespect, but we know that the professional umbrage brigade may say otherwise.

Ever fought in a war? You don't just switch off the moment you're demobbed. I wouldn't call people 'asshats' for continuing to disrespect people that may have imprisoned them, invaded their country, killed their friends and relatives, tortured their captured prisoners or bombed their homes and impoverished them.

You idealism far surpasses your sense of reality there I'm afraid.

let's put aside that faily nearly every person that fought during WW2 is dead (or near to) its a safe bet today's great proportion of racicts arent from that war (becuase we were talking about two terms from that era)
but let's look at ANY war.....I'm pretty sure a far greater percent of bigots and hate mongers have never once served a minute in their lives (add to that theyres plenty of non-racist persons who do serve).

And all THAT aside, I wasnt even speaking to people who served - I was speaking of the general populace. If you think because well, once, someone, somewhere once did to somewhere at some time in my family tree gives me license to be a racist, well, they ARE an asshat. If you can't seperate an entire group or race from an individual or instance, there's a good place to look for a deeper reality check
Strange you make it sound idealism is bad and my sense of reality is not so poorly tuned, ty - I only have to come as far as the forum to find self-entitled bigots and zealots. ;)

Funnily enough I was out with a few people for beers and myself & another were actually shocked (and a tad angry)that the others HADN'T heard of it :p

Whether that speaks volumes for our character and/or depravity is another thing
