I keep seeing and hearing this thrown around quite often.

"This slot is really hot, i'm winning all the time now" or "It's a complete dud right now, i can't seem to hit anything"

Logically, unless there's some foul play, such experiences is simply the brain trying to make sense of randomness i thought.

What do you guys think ?

Can any one player even play a game long enough for the law of big numbers and randomness to even out enough to make such claims ?

I had it many a time for it to backfire so have learned my lesson. Made a deposit and played at £0.45 stakes. The slot was playing crap and I lowered the bet to £0.27. 100 spins later and I had a 2,500x stake win. If only I carried on playing at £0.45 stakes.

If anybody would know when a slot is going to be hot, you would have broken it as a simple increase of the bet size would yield guaranteed wins over and over.

I think a lot is your brain believing what you want it to believe.

I think there are hot an cold slots.
For example I played yesterday a Playtech slot (Silent Samurai). I had about 10 bonus feature within 300 spins. Normally I should have less than 2 features within 300 spins.
Unfortunately I did not dare to increase my bets (due to superstition I guess), even though I saw the slot is hot.

I see. But if you think that, aren't you saying the slots are actually changing over time? That the chance of winning is changed, either through maths/algorithms or by actual people ?

Isn't it more likely that you're experiencing being lucky as the slot being hot and unlucky as the slot being cold, while in reality the slot is following the same rules it always did ?

I think it's similar to flipping a coin 100 times and getting 95 heads,- definitely a possible outcome.

I might be wrong, but I think the RTP of a slot maintained in a long run (like 1 month) which involves hot and cold periods.

With a slot being random they can produce lots of big wins closely bunched together and when it happens it does give the mental impression its "hot"

But saying that I wouldn't raise my bet on the strength of those occasions, I just think ahh nice thats unusual, loads of wins bunched up together and crack on...:D

Hot or Cold?

I got to say it is what you wish it to be. The whole idea of slot,s is to make your mind go into a trance of sorts. The mindless drone of the wheels spinning, It.s a real mind f*ck. But i do think that the eye of experience can see when a slot is "HOT" The way you get a feature and it gives you a couple of really good hits that drive your money up beyond the playthru. I myself believe that a slot is hot when it gives me what i want? That is a win of good or great size. And cold is when you watch a $100.00 go in a 20 minute blink:what:And i have seen my best win,s come after a really hot run of feature play,s say i get a feature 5 times in 100 spins that is a hot slot. You can tell i believe. Peace Out! Out Of The Mist! shewoff

I dont think a Slot is hot or cold.
I believe if you start a casino session and you shall win, it doesn´t matter which Slot you play. Same if you shall loose.
