I heard somewhere that bank funding from the US for Ecocard had been removed from the options. I'm not sure if the Western Union/Moneygram option is still available or not.

I just signed up to test it and it says I can only do a wire from my bank to one of their banks and it takes 1-4 days.
I think this works like a wire transfer and I think you get charged depending on your bank policies.

Hi Slotchik

Your right thats exactly how the Eco Card works. I have a pay spark account and after I heard about this I contacted the two Casinos I play at and I now still deposit with my net spend card and if I have a withdrawal then I transfer my funds into my pay spark account. Hope this helps.

I just signed up on recommendation by the Casino I'm playing at.

Yes they have 3 Deposit options. Bank to Bank wire transfer, you must initiate the transaction at your Bank. I emphasize Bank to Bank; this is not Bank to Casino or Bank to a payment processor. You are wiring to one of many banks Ecocard is connected to around the World. I believe you can use anyone you want except the one in U.S. . This is interesting cause when they start telling us we can't send our money to Banks outside of the U.S. well, you can figure Communism has come to America.

The second and third options are Moneygram and Western Union. They take a $7 comm. on all deposits under 200. There is only one withdrawal method and that is Bank wire also. The fee is $10. Again, this is a transfer to a Bank, somewhere in the World outside of the U.S. .

Nothing has been removed. They are all on the Deposit page. Money/WU is on the drop down menu under Payment processing.

As soon as the Federal Reserve Board gets around to creating the "Designated Payment System" , The first thing to be put on the list will be Credit Cards. All U.S. 'regulated' Credit card systems will be prohibited from sending funds to any Gaming business or its intermediaries. My Bank just wrote me a nice letter telling me I can't use MasterCard on my Debit card for any Online Gambling deposits, and they haven't even received any official Regulation on this matter yet.

After my first deposit The fraud department from my bank called and wanted to know if my card was stolen because someone is using it for on line gaming and they have never seen that activity on my card before. I said no it's not stolen it's me. They thanked me and said sorry to bother you.

I used my credit card once and also got called by the bank. Now the casino informed me that they can no longer accept cards from that bank.

I wasn't comfortable with having too many of those transactions on my card anyways.

Are the gift cards a viable option for now? I haven't ever tried them, but I see they have visa gift cards and reloadable cards. The gift cards can be purchased online, the reloadable ones are sold in drug stores, etc. Does anyone have experience or recommendations? How would you handle cashouts (my new c2p account may or may not work)?

They Called me too ... same thing, same thank you and have a nice day.

That was 18 months ago. Today they have a whole new attitude !!

You'll be hearing from them in the future. By mail or by phone, it may be soon, it may be later when they actually receive the 'Designated Payment System' from the regulatory commision. Right now there is no law prohibiting them from sending money to a Gaming business until an official Regulation is created by the Federal Reserve Board and put in place as part of the 'Designated Payment System' . However the Attorney General can go after any non-regulated financial transaction providers at any time.
Some banks are allowing the use of MasterCard or Visa for gaming deposits, some have shut down early, of their own volition.

Of course it is illegal under UIGEA for the Casino to receive those funds from a U.S. Regulated Financial transaction provider, so many are not taking the cards anymore. It depends on how immune they feel they are, how vulnerable they are. Most casinos have well known financial institutions involved with gaming transactions; others use Banks more obscured so a payment to a Bank by Visa or MC is no problem, that is, untill they call you and ask if it was for gambling and you say yes; no more using the card at that Casino anyway. Not since UEGIA for many banks, but they will all fall into the same position eventually.

As for the prepaid Visa, it seems to be working at the present time. Cash-outs would have to be done by snail mail most likely. But the prepaid Visa is sold in the Country and therefor must be Regulated and will fall to the same fate as all Visa and MC. If it was not Regulated, the Attorney General could and would seek an injunction against them to stop making Payments to Gaming Business.

my credit card called and it was automated. I had to press 2 if the charge to an online gaming site was authorized. LOL:D

I USED THE NETSPEND AND IT WORKS REAL GOOD TO FUND YOUR CASINO ACCOUNT. I BOUGHT A MASTER CARD GIFT CARD BEFORE AT MY BANK BUT I WAS TO AFRAID TO USE IT SINCE MY BANK WANTED MY ACCOUNT NUMBER AND ALL MY INFO. I DIDNT WANT TO LINK MY BANK TO GAMBLING WITH A GIFT CARD I HAD PURCHASED FROM THEM. NETSPEND WORKS BUT I HAVE NOT TRIED TO MAKE A WITHDRAWL AS OF YET. DONT KNOW HOW THAT WILL GO. I HAVE TO SAY IT IS CONVIENT FOR ME .. I HAVE 2 CLOSE STORES NEAR ME WHERE I CAN RELOAD OR RE PURCHASE.

Just wanted to let people know that ecocard no longer has a minimum $200us western union deposit.

It now says there is no minimum but anything under $200us has a $7 fee

since i recently just posted about the netspend card i found out that you can only use the temporary card for atm transactions. after you recieve your permanent one in the mail ( approx 10 days) then you can use it for anything such as internet transactions. i only know this because i purchased the card and came straight home and used it to fund the casino.. and that was a no no. but only until i recive my permanent card. i do think that it is a matter of time before this will not even be a option for u.s. players.

i don't think that's accurate. i got my netspend card a few days ago and funded two casinos that night with the temp card. maybe it depends on which casino you try?

I also got a temporary netspend all-access card and have funded at casinos the last few days. I did use it as a "debit" card in the banking section under the "visa/mc" deposit option. Maybe that makes a difference?

What's the upfront fee for getting and initially funding a Netspend card locally (rather than from their website)?

There are visa & mc giftcards available at drugstores that run from $4.95 (non-reloadable) to $9.95 (reloadable).

If I remember correctly, the initial load fee for the reloadable cards is included in the $9.95. I'm not entirely sure if they charge the $9.95 fee if you order it from the website.

There was an initial upfront fee of $9.95, but no fee when I reloaded the card. I know different stores have different cards, and I have heard that not all of them work at casinos. The one I am using is a Netspend All-Access Visa Debit card. Their website, www.netspend.com, gives you a list of local merchants in your zip code that sell them. I bought mine and was depositing online within 30 minutes.

I don't doubt that this avenue will close eventually, but where there is a will there is a way......... Btw, I had a good night at the casino last night and cashed out requesting a check sent priority mail. I don't expect any problems with my bank cashing the check, as I have not had problems in the past, but will post a follow-up for US players FYI.

PackerBacker,
Did you use paypal to load online? I would have used dd with tax returns (oh the irony, huh?) but the page 'disappeared' on me. I can only find option for direct deposit from paycheck, load at local merchant (none around me) or payPal. hmmm

I didn't use paypal because of the time it took to credit my account, which I think was around 7-10 days. These days I don't know what to expect from one minute to the next........and I swear I hold my breath every time I try to deposit or withdraw:eek:

I just confirmed that they do charge the $9.95 fee if you order it from the site, but they don't charge you until you load the card for the first time.

I think the delay is on Netspend's end, not Paypal. I've always received my money via ACH from Paypal in ~48 hours.

I'm lucky - I live about a half a mile from a gas station that carries netspend cards....nya nya nya nya :p
