InterCasino UK removed 700 from my account!

I just noticed this email from 21st June from InterCasino UK:

I've noticed that you haven't played at our tables for over 3 months now. You still have funds in your account, some of which has been given to you as bonuses from Intercasino.

Your time to use these bonuses is running out! All you need to do to keep your remaining bonus cash is to play at least one single game at Intercasino.*

If you haven't played a game by midnight on 27th June 2006 then I'm afraid any funds remaining from your unfulfilled bonus requirements will be removed from your account. I therefore strongly urge you to play any of our fantastic games, including our new and hugely popular Texas Hold 'em Poker before 28th June 2006.

I checked the account and I only have 690 in there and I used to have 1390. They only gave me less than a week's notice and I didn't read it in time. At the beginning of the month they also removed 2 as a fee for dormant accounts which I suppose was not too bad compared to removing 700!

The reason I haven't played for a while is that the hard drive it was installed on stopped working so I only just reinstalled it today after some difficulty (they don't seem to have an instant play casino any more). Also, I haven't had much time to play so was leaving it for when I had more time and I didn't even deposit for the bonus for the last couple of months.
 
Another strange thing I noticed in the email was that it was titled 'clawback' although the title isn't shown with some mail readers but it's in the html.

I'm hoping they will give me the money back as I wasn't able to play before the deadline.

I hope so too, and a player could easily be on holiday when receiving the e-mail, but the problem is the deadline's also in the terms and conditions (I'm not sure since when):
If the bonus wagering requirements have not been met after 90 days and the bonus remains uncleared InterCasino reserves the right to remove the bonus from the player’s account.
So there's not much you can do other than appeal to their good nature. In any case, it's good that you've highlighted this so others can avoid the same trap.
 
I cant find fault with the casino on this. The terms and conditions state clearly that the casino had the right to remove bonuses that havent met the WRs after 90 days. That period had passed and the message was only a reminder from Intercasino on how to keep your bonuses intact. Lesser casinos would probably have removed your bonuses after exactly 90 days without a reminder.

It's interesting to see how people can be blinded by hatred. Intercasino does not ban players from my area of abode. It simply does not give matching deposits. Grow up, kid.

I've seen chuchu speak ill of Intercasino when he thought they were wrong; kudos for being fair and balanced when he thinks they're right:thumbsup:

Many poker sights have time limits on redeeming bonuses so I don't think there's an issue here. The email reminder is a nice CS touch that shows Intercasino would rather help players than punish them.
 
Ooh, Bryan might have his first task as independent adjudicator for Intercasino (can't remember any public ones anyway).

I am also surprised at the 700 figure, this is 14 months worth of bonuses. Many casinos have a clawback term for bonuses. It may have helped to contact Intercasino UK (preferably direct to JaneB rather than Crypto support), to let them know about the hard drive failure long before the 90 days were up.
If you had some other computing availability, it might have been worth installing the casino temporarily, play a single game, and then uninstall it. Many sites don't let you keep the funds with a single game, the full WR must be completed.
Others should note this experience, if you know you are not going to play for an extended period, check the time limits in the terms to see if they will become an issue. 60 to 90 days is the norm, and at 180 days many will remove funds entirely, not just bonuses. This may be just for security, but a few have terms that allow them to keep the funds after 180 days.
Usually, only one game is needed to reset the count back to day one. I have sometimes done this myself to keep an account alive, although if there is more than 100 in it I will attempt to meet WR and withdraw some.
I once got caught by the Intercasino 2, but this was from my AFFILIATE E-cash account, one which I am NOT SUPPOSED to use and be bonused for as I have a playing account! CS suggested I deposit & play just to keep the account from losing 2 per month, but said the bonus was automatic. I didn't fancy a "duplicate account" challenge, so I played a single 5p game, and withdrew the remaining 18 by cheque (coudn't use any other method as I had never deposited).
This shows how little traffic my site generates for the casinos:D I can look again 6 months later & it is still empty, of course, everybody joins through the Casinomeister, as they should I suppose:D

Don't snap on my ambiguity and think you can get away with it. Of course that was what I was referring to- banning HK players from having the bonus. I still remember how badly you were arguing HK and China are not one country:lolup: I literally had my ass off laughing.:eek: :D

I did contact the manager JaneB who told me today that she contacted the support and I'd hear back from them which I did. They didn't really help so when I contacted her again she said she would talk to them and I'd hear back from them but as yet I haven't heard from them again. Another strange thing is they seem to have removed the £700 the day before the actual deadline.

What customer support did say in their email was that I hadn't played since November last year. This was well over 6 months ago. It isn't an automatic thing after 90 days at all so I didn't think they would really do this. It seems like this email was triggered long after this and there is little notice to the player about it. I'm not sure when the 90 days term came in (probably long after I signed up) but since it was long after 90 days I didn't really expect anything like that to happen.

It was apparently 14 bonuses of £50 (I haven't deposited there the last couple of months but usually did for the match bonus). I wish I was able to play a bit before but the computer the casino was on was an old one with Windows98 and the hard drive died and the whole computer actually stopped working completely shortly afterwards (probably the power supply). Also, Intercasino always froze the internet connection on that computer after 20 minutes play and I had to reboot. I mentioned this before on other threads here.

Intercasino - you're faultless in a lot of regards, and very well respected in the player community it seems... The 'Jane Bentley' thing though, eh? It's a bit silly :D

You could have bought a decent computer for a lot less than 700.
 
Not really the point of this thread.....but
What was the masterplan of making 14 deposits in a row for the match bonus each month without playing towards the wagering?

I wish i could afford to tie up all that cash and forget about it for a year or so!:notworthy :notworthy

But from a pure bonus point of view

You cant be a banned for bonus hunting if you havent played em!

How long do you think you would keep getting the monthly ( i have heard of people who have been banned) if you kept depositing. playing the minimum ( to the exact ) ?.....NOT 14 TIMES IM SURE

This way you play em in 1 go and as the wagering is accumulated you are only playing the minimum on each

And like i said , how can you be a bonus hunter as you havent played them yet.... so of course he can have next months

The computer was only about 4 years old apart from the operating system but I also had a laptop I used which I use all the time now because the desktop doesn't work anymore (the laptop is older and slower but it's ok).

I would have finished the wagering each month if I could and not let it build up. I never thought I would get banned as some people suggested but I just put off the wagering for later. I just never got round to playing due to lack of time and other problems with the computer. I will definitely finish the wagering as soon as I can. I also have a lot to play at InterCasinoUS and outstanding wagering at a couple of others with different software.
 
Too funny! :) just when I think I've heard everything there is about gambling online ... :notworthy

I mean how you came to have the money. not that you got it taken away

Intercasino was one of the first casinos I played at in 1999. When InterCasino UK came out many years later they sent me lots of CD's in the post about it and it was definitely encouraged to have both accounts.

By they way, does anyone know when the 90 day rule (saying they reserve the right- not that they would actually do it) came into effect? It wasn't actually 90 days in my case as it was over double that time I hadn't played according to the customer service email (not heard back since JaneB spoke to them again- don't even know what she said to them after their first email) so not sure why they suddenly sent that email to me with less than a week's notice. I was supposed to have played before 28th June to prevent this from happening but on the cashier statement it said the money was removed on the 27th.

The 90 day term certainly wasn't there when I signed up and it's not in any of the pages here:

Fine for UK players, but not vice versa, I'd guess. Sometimes life just isn't fair :) As Sirius said I'm sure it's because the US one was around first and they wanted UK players to join the new casino when they opened it. It'd be a bit harsh to then force players to close their US accounts.
 
Another strange thing in the customer service email (not heard back again yet) was that at the end of it they wrote that I was still able to receive bonuses with my deposits. How is that any comfort when they just removed 700 from the account? I thought removing 2 earlier in the month for it being 'dormant' was strange enough. I didn't read the email in time but didn't really expect them to remove the bonuses and was shocked when I installed the casino and logged in and found out that they had.

I had a similar problem with VIPCasino (link below) but because I played they didn't remove the bonuses so I didn't know if they were really serious about it.
