It appears that Visa will no longer accept deposits and withdrawals at the end of July on these offshore sites. Some banks do not already, however, CIBC which currently does will no longer. Also, the Visa Titanium card is being replaced by the Mastercard Titanium card. So watch yourself when this date approaches as withdrawals will become difficult.

Thanks for the info Barbara. I was wondering where I could read about this? How about web wallets and online instant banking for Canada? I fear we are going to be shut out of a lot of casinos, like the U.S.A. are now.

Black Friday comes soon.

The only reason I found out is because I've been trying to withdraw $100 from a casino (yes, I finally won something!). I wasn't able to use my Mastercard so I applied for a Visa. I got the Visa and that was denied (Scotiabank). So I called CIBC to see if they allowed these transactions and they said yes, only until the end of July. I thought perhaps I should get a Visa Titanium card and went online to find out that this is being phased out and being replaced by Mastercard Titanium. So, I'm stuck. I have applied for the CIBC visa card but by the time it gets here that money will be gone for sure!

As for Web wallets, I don't know much about them. Jazzy could probably fill us in on this but it looked like EZpay was being phased out as well and it apparently takes 6 weeks to get.

I do think we are being squeezed out!

I have never been able to use my real credit card at any online casino ever.

I have been using The MoneyMart Reloadable Cards since 2008
Titanium Visa was Titanium Mastercard before, and worked fine to deposit at Casinos.

They changed to Titanium Visa in 2010 when Vancouver hosted the Olympics and marketed the Visa as more widely acceptable to vendors at that time.

I actually kind of think they are going back to MasterCard because they have a deal in place with MasterCard now, who recently lost their contract with Costco (For years the only card you could use there was MasterCard, but now they only allow Visa)

I am not sure if Casinos are able to pay back to a Mastercard in Canada, as back then I only played Spin Palace and All Jackpots and both those Casinos have only ever payed back by bank wire to this day.

In 2010, they sent me a replacement card in the mail and it seamlessly connected to my existing account (online access, transaction history and balances)
Just make sure to keep a scan of your Visa Titanium in case your casinos asks for a copy and send your casinos an updated scan of the MasterCard when you receive it.

A good alternative for deposits and withdrawals is Instadebit. You set it up for your bank account. The weekly limit is low until you build a good history with them and then they increase it gradually. You will need to prove your bank account and identity etc. the same as casino KYC.

It adds funds instantly to the casino for a flat fee of $1.95 (you can deposit in CAD and USD) and the money comes out of your bank account by InstaDebit within a day or so (not including weekends) and you can receive withdrawals back to it as well (CAD and USD)

You cannot load the InstaDebit account, but money you receive stays in it and you can redeposit to Casinos with no fees or transfer it back to your bank account for a fee of $2.00 (it takes 2 to 5 days to transfer to your bank) I find it is usually 2 to 3 days.

There are some Casinos that will put a 10 day hold on withdrawals when depositing with InstaDebit.
I know Spin Palace is/ or was one.
It is because that is the time frame to be notified of Non sufficient funds for the initial purchase as there is a delay in InstaDebit collecting the money from your bank account and sending it to the Casino Processor.

EcoPayz is the ewallet I use. I encountered difficulties in upgrading my account because my photos of my phone bill kept being rejected. Finally sent a PDF online copy of my bank statement. The account was set up in minutes however, and I was able to receive and send a limited number of purchases immediately.

Last any staff at Moneymart knew, the Mastercard was being added, but they have not announced any plan to quit offering the Visa.

Prepaid Mastercard is avaible through Cash4U (or maybe You) at a lower monthly fee however, if one is convenient for you. There is one kitty-corner from the MM I load at most often.

EcoPayz is instant many places, but it is high to withdraw as cash, either by card (which is USD Visa), or if you take a wire, your bank will charge you incoming fees.

Absolutely great for money you wish to gamble again however, pretty much fee free everywhere, and you can have multiple currencies as well.

Back to Visa is a great payment option as I can withdraw for free in person, or $1 fee via ATM, instead of the $3 eco charges and is limited to a max of $200 per transaction.

Also, not all casinos that accept the prepaid Visa pay back to it.

I have no interest in being able to access my bank account to make casino deposits. While I am in pretty good control of myself and my finances, I don't want the ability to make a poor judgement available to me.

Here is the email I was sent
