IMPORTANT - CAP Euro Event Changes

Note - this is a 10 month old but still relevant comment

I havent had time to study up on the complete company /subcompaines of CAP/Lou /Warren but do they own any part of Igaming Business? If effective Media/Affiliate Media or any of Lou and Warren's comparnies are still invested in these events then it is nothing more than a name change and damage control Move.
Or are they letting Alex take over their event as a front person while still in the back room counting their cash?Enquiring Minds want to know :)I know alex always organised events but Cap always got the credit -just trying to understand the financial relationship here and no reflection on what I think of Alex.

A blast from the past!

A prescient post from Casinobonusguy who was just one of several 'doubting thomases' (myself included) in the first three pages of this thread.

It still makes interesting reading...and the promised clarification and transparency which was denied readers at that time because "it's a complicated deal and we're still talking" in fact took 10 months to materialise - and then under pressure.

Rob, you are a barrel of laughs. Your last response shows you care zilch about the issue, rather preferring to score brownie points here or there.

You feel better now...:)

I take it that you did not get my comparison connection between your statement there and the similar ENRON statements that flowed out of their offices for a solid year previous to their demise.

...and it seems like this situation is perhaps even more convoluted than what it appears to be.

Lou and Warren are still primary exec officers of Effective Media. Isn't Effective Media an offshoot of Affiliated Media?

Or is this a dated doc? (March 2009) It's post CAP meltdown that's for sure.

Am I confused, or what?

Maybe my questioned has been answered here: Statement from Feb. 2009

Effective immediately, I am resigning from EMG and surrendering my shares in this company. I will have no further connection with EMG, Absolute Slots, Cardspike, or any of the owners or shareholders of these entities

So perhaps EMG is just a stagnant entity...

Just wondering if you saw this post that Dom made earlier in the thread Bryan?

Just a fact to keep things straight, I am not voicing any opinions here:

When assets were split, Lou received Effectice Media and Warren received Affiliate Media. Only Affiliate Media has a financial interest in the conferences.

I think it's stagnant, but I will get confirmation of that when I see someone online I can ask.

I am also not sure of the date Affiliate Media assets were distributed according to the settlement they reached. I'll ask about that too. It's been a while now, but later than the dates mentioned above is all I remember.

Whilst players will be watching this thread with interest, I think the central discussion is understandably more of direct interest to affiliates wrestling with the juxtapositioning of the questionable history of CAP with the conference and iGB, and of course the increasingly bitter debate about deception, which puts an ethical slant on it.

I don't know if the players will be watching this thread with interest but what i know is that the authorities are watching the online online gambling industry with interest and if the main concern of their advertizing outlets is the wrestling with the juxtapositioning of the questionable history of CAP with the conference and iGB and not some research into questions like why spamming the internet with billions of casino ads creates the shady image that then leads to the mindset which causes UIGEA and similar measures in another countries it is going to end up with yet another betting executive jailed for racketeering.

Just my 2 cents.

This was posted a couple of weeks ago on the GPWA affiliate forum:

"Affiliate sites should be banned from casino industry?"

"Whenever we search with any casino keyword. We can find most results from affiliate sites than true casino sites. The searchers should get the more real sites than those affiliate sites. Don't you think Affiliates should be banned from casino industry? Don't you think affiliate sites are making the casino world a scrap? Are we viewers getting any benefit from affiliates?"

That would certainly be helpful, if we can trust the company not to 'mislead' us (again :()

However, that would still not expunge Jolly's active part in both the CAP/EM/AF activities and subsequent early 2009 debacle, and more currently in the present situation.

Has everyone forgotten about the CAP Spring Break conference? The Cancun conference where affiliates and aff managers were told 150 or so people were going, that the hotel was fully booked etc., etc.

And only a hand full of people showed up? There were no sponsors! Club World had brought several employees - to include family members and got stuck with the bill. :eek2:

CAP didn't send anyone down there until after the "conference" started. Warren Jolly never showed.

No apologies...no making good on things. And yet affiliates are still hanging around in the CAP corridors.

I don't get it. What am I missing?

Effective Media is in a long queue of Florida corps to be dismantled. It is inactive and will disappear whenever Florida gets around to the request.

I hear that Lou has moved on and started something else, but I haven't spoken with him in a long time now and what I know about Lou himself is not first hand knowledge.
