That's crazy man. Thankfully they cannot legally withhold his money so if he has a balance of £400 he will get it eventually.

On the plus side at least he won't be able to sign in, reverse it and blow it ;)

First of all, this has been handled terribly by the player:

1- If you send a cc statement as a proof of address, make sure to hide any financial information on it, such as balance due and the other transactions. If you want privacy, it starts with you here. Be smarter.

2- Never, ever tell a casino rep that you need the money to pay your rent and your bills. It will pop all kinds of red flags to them. You want your money ASAP because it's yours, not because you "need it".

With that said: LOL at the casino rep trying to pull the "we're not paying you but it's for your own good" card. The amount of profanities she'd have received from me for trying that one. Player should go to the gaming commission immediately, not paying your credit card bill on time isn't a valid reason to withhold payment and it's not the casino's business to begin with.

I've had a chat to somebody at Wishmaker concerning this.

He claims that this is coming from the platform provider (MT SecureTrade) as they are the ones who handle Fraud and Payments for the casino - If true, that makes me wonder if anyone else on the platform is going to pull this trick.

@Sebastian - Rizk - Some clarity would be appreciated.

Rogue rogue and just filthy scum rogue.

For all their faults these big uk bookmakers rarely pull stunts like this. This is why I would never play at these other sites these stalling tactics become worse as they struggle to stay afloat

The casino rep did reply on the other forum, here is his answer:

""
Hi,
Our payments & fraud is handled by our license holder MT Securetrade. At the moment we are looking at this case with them and will reply here soon. We ask for your patience in the meanwhile.

This defies common sense - I can see why they may be concerned about your financial wellbeing when taking deposits now they know you owe money. Maybe they could even take the decision to refuse further deposits on that basis for RG reasons. But to exacerbate the problem by using that as grounds not to pay your winnings or delay them is utterly ridiculous. A catch-22 if ever there was one.

"The player owes money, so to exacerbate the situation we'll delay his winnings until he pays the card off - oh! he can't unless we send him his money, but nevermind!"

Talk about Italian mama logic.....

No issue with a casino raising flags for players that gamble on credit, and in fairness they should.

Why on earth should it be a problem he is in debt to a credit card company? Who is not? Even Bezos, Zuckerberg and Buffett most likely rely on credit cards for the convenience for what we know.

This casino is rogue, end of story. Do I have to pay my bills on time before I can gamble? Give me a break

Did you even read my reply? I do not agree with how this is handled.

Casinos should however in cases where they are concerned of the players well being take action, including closing accounts. That does not however in any way imply I think they should nor legally can withhold his winnings.

How can a casino be in position to determine weither a persons financials are healthy enough for gambling or not?

Casinos should respect (and offer) self-exclusion and limitation tools, rest is none of their business.

Do you honestly think a casino should keep an account open in a case where they feel the customer is likely to have a gambling issue or be in a bad financial state?
