That's stupid! Spirit of bonuses? Give me a break. Casinos have every right to determine who they give bonuses to, as long as it's not retroactive (unless in the case of fraud, which is not the same thing as "bonus abuse", see below for more on that). Why give you this nonsense about "spirit"? Just be honest - sorry, you're winning too much with our bonuses, or you're too good for us, we can't give you anymore. But don't give players crap about spirit! The spirit of a casino player is to WIN, and sometimes that means taking a bonus!
As for bonus abuse, I see CASINOS bonus abusing just as often as players!! They basically use a bonus as an excuse to void your winnings/play IF YOU WIN, but if you LOSE, then well, hah, you followed the "spirit" in which they want you to play I guess.
As others have said though, there ARE places that understand this and play fair. Stick with them, and avoid those that obviously don't want, or know how to keep, your business!
This can also be down to a complete lack of expertise in the managers. Provided the bonus is designed to be -EV, it becomes a "trap", and it is actually better to have players always take the bonus, rather than play without one.
I recall many RTG casinos even having it a rule that players MUST take a bonus with each deposit, on the grounds that so many are available, and that the only reason NOT to take a bonus was itself "bonus abuse". This is how RTG is designed, players are MEANT to be given lots of bonuses, which is why RTG have all these nasty rules about max cashouts.
Inetbet should consider moving to different software, one where bonuses are NOT so ingrained into the culture, and players do not necessarily expect that there will be some bonus on offer 24/7.
My suspicion is that this is only happening to winners, and that players losing overall will have no problem taking as many deposit, and forum, bonuses as they can.
According to InetBet philosophy, I SHOULD BE BONUS BANNED TOO, as I have taken a bonus with virtually every deposit so far, and I tend to go for the higher percentage ones, and ignore the 50% or less coupons.
I AM "bonus banned" at Club World, yet I am supposedly a VIP
(This means I cannot take part in ANY of the special promotions on the website, only the generic 35% slots bonus). Oddly enough, I have deposited MORE at Club World WITHOUT bonuses as a proportion of total deposits than at InetBet. I also make BIGGER deposits at Club World, sometimes as much as $2000 in one go (with a special VIP bonus of course).
From my records:-
I am ahead overall with Club World.
I am behind at Inetbet
This is circumstantial evidence that being ahead overall is a factor in deciding whether to bonus ban a player, even though this is denied.
To get a better picture of this, we should look at all of us, and see whether there is an indication that only players who are ahead overall are getting the bonus ban from treatment InetBet and Club World, or whether players who deposit ONLY when taking a bonus also get bonus banned despite being behind overall.
If the casinos are being truthful, then it will be failure to play without a bonus that will lead to the bonus bans, irrespective of the player's overall position on their account.
