It is a crying shame that bands like this never broke into mainstream. Just looking at the "top ten" in the papers as that is all that they usually print,it has little reflection on musical taste. It is too media driven these days.
This band can play. Mix of Nirvana and a lot of others but we are bombarded with shit like Swift and these women with silly names.
I'm now on this to see out my evening as a first time listener.
I've always liked Mark Knopfler's vocals:
I am more of a fan of talented musicians who can play live without the help of much backing tracks and autotune. I have a daughter who loves live bands like these and finds todays chart music as dross so maybe I will take her along to one of these festivals.Ah I am guessing you are a fellow fan of Prog Rock, Colin? Porcupine Tree are actually very big on the Prog Scene, of which it is a fairly big underground scene.
You would likely like the Winters End and Summers End Festivals held at Drill Hall in Chepstow, held around April and Sept/Oct every year.
I went last year for the Sunday ( Apr 23 ). Great day, saw some great bands I was not aware of prior to going there.
I also got served at the bar by the lead singer of Also Eden lol and met all the members of the band I went to see play who were headlining on Sunday night. RPWL. The first of four gigs I saw them play that week
I am still to this day kicking myself passing up getting tickets to see Pink Floyd on their Division Bell Tour at Earls Court in 94. But I was lucky enough to see David Gilmour in Brighton in 2015 for the opening night of his Rattle that Lock tour.
This was the first ever gig whereby I cried, Comfortably Numb was just immense and insane and brought back so many personal memories - Used to play 'Air Guitar' to it with my best mate eons ago, on nights where we put the world to rights. He sadly passed with cancer in 2007 - my son who was born the following year is named after him.
The second and only other time was at the last of the four gigs of the week I followed RPWL across the country. Again no idea it was going to happen, but it did.
You can't beat music

As we are back in the 70's here is Edge of Midnight - Fleetwood Mac well Stevie Nicks from Fleetwood Mac and Miley Cyrus mash up.
I doubt many on here are into hip hop by the looks of things, but technically this is more a love song, I've actually no idea how Dre and 50 got in my Spotify top artists , I would have expected Alice in Chains, Iron Maiden or Soundgarden in there for sure but it must be because they're feat on songs I listened to a lot.. weird though. Anyway, when the album The Death of Slim Shady Coup de Gras came out I listened to it incessantly for weeks lol, brought me back to my 20s again This track here though would give you a tear in your eye. Just to think of where this guy started, what he's been through in 25 years and still top listened to on Spotify at 52yrs old. He is undoubtedly the . His adoration of his daughter though, of all his kids, this one shines on the album (as well as Somebody Save Me feat: Jellyroll)
Yep Eminem is class. Although Hip Hop is personally not my bag. He has had some great collaborations. This one with Sia, which was used for the soundtrack at the end of The Equalizer featuring Denzel Washington is quality also IMO.
Yep music or podcasts ALWAYS when walking the dog for me. Plus music is a must at the gym when on the bike.I love this. It's on my walking playlist. I actually have a full Eminem walking playlist lol.
Not that I don't have other ones for my grunge, metal etc but the Eminem one always keeps me going and I have chronic illness so exercise and me don't mix !
"Feel like I've already said this a kabillion eighty times" has become part of my everyday language
I'm also an angry blonde
Yes, I pay for my Spotify account. Couldn't be without it now. A playlist for every mood and they're ever changingYep music or podcasts ALWAYS when walking the dog for me. Plus music is a must at the gym when on the bike.
Hence why I love Spotify so much, because it builds up a picture of what you listen to over time and as such suggests new artists that it thinks you may like. So far I have come across several bands and artists thanks to Spotify, which otherwise I would not have a clue about.
