Having it in the Spring will be quite a novelty, a change from the sleet and hail of February :)

That's actually great, although I miss conferences already so much. But I've seen London only during Jan-Feb, so this might be new - especially weather wise :D

I went in Feb 2019 and it was actually quite warm and the daffodils were poking through in the grassy suburb areas of London.

Not had a cold winter in a fair while now :( other than the odd spell.

Yes, obviously Bryan will confirm, but the whole idea regarding the timing is to coincide with the huge ICE/LAC event at Excel which gives people from many countries reason to be in London, many of whom are also members here.
Unless Excel turns back to a Nightingale Hospital again because there's a second wave and no vaccine or herd immunity by then.

Will the meister meet now be moved as this year was planning on making my debut...
Sorry just read above, I’m a tad slow today haha
It has been a few years since I last attended a meet and I stated a few years ago that I would attend but events got in the way. I would guess that we could pick up a few more on the way playford? :)

Well I admire the optimism in this thread!
April in England could be anything from -20C with blizzards, to a +25C UK "heatwave" :p

But the main threat is this cursed virus, which despite (and mainly because) many people seeming to think is all over, is very likely to come back and bite us all in the arse big-time :(
The only way these events will take place is if (and that's a HUGE IF) there is an effective vaccine way before the time. Let's pray...

February's unique but a bit of a bummer. Took the best part of 5-10 minuted for my lips to de-frost after entering the den, making speech somewhat challenging.

The remainder of the night was fine, my speech gradually returned to normal and my lips thawed. I just chose not to say anything interesting

We only just, as of today, have moved into gatherings of 50 people (and yeah, you can argue that a good or bad thing but bearing in mind, here, we arent as 'compact') but it's more or less a trial run - we may end up reverting back to gatherings of 10 if this spikes

I can wholly see major events wont be able accomodate large numbers come spring; unless, as KK says, a viable vaccine has been introduced

Not what I'd call foolproof though is it. So what's to occur - people will be tested at the entrance to see if they've been vaccinated? Those not jabbed are forever shunned and may never attend any social gatherings again? And who's to say this vaccine will even be effective, not to mention any further viral outbreaks

All these questions and more will be answered in next week's show, stay tuned!
