Bonus Complaint I wish I never received that sneaky bonus - $10,000 win confiscated

Adding bonuses to an account while the player plays, and then expecting the player to honour a shitload of Terms is just silly. If he took a bonus while depositing or signing up, then he has agreed to stick to terms, not when they add money to the account while hes playing. Doing like this casino seems to have done would be like a store employee sneeking some merchandise into your pocket while not noticing it, and then pressing charges against you for shop lifting when you passed the cashier.

Sigh.

Just for the seventeeth time.....the bonus was the signup bonus which the player knew or should have known he would receive, given it is plastered all over the website.

Furthermore, no evidence has been presented that the bonus was actually added after play started. The OP stated he only NOTICED his balance had increased after a "few minutes". It may have been less than a minute, or even instant but he didn't notice. Either way, one would have to be blind and possibly thick to not know that they were going to receive a 100% signup bonus.

If the OP could post his playcheck log we can see when the bonus was added, or perhaps the rep could provide the information.

In their TOS it stands that the bonus has to be claimed within 7 days of registering. I dont see just depositing counting as a claim. And still, is the OP didnt get any message about it being added, with a notice or so about the terms, then its rougish of the casino.

If one simply wants to sign up, deposit 50$ and play without being hassled with any bonuses, or contacting CS to refuse it, it should be the simplest thing to do so. If the casino wants to be nice and slip some extra into the players account, they should do so without expecting the customer to follow a shitload of terms. If the customer however actively tries to get a bonus its another story.

At the casinos i play on, i always have to choose whether or not i want a bonus while depositing. When you signup at a casino you and the casino agrees on certain rules. To be bound by more rules than that, one should be clearly noticed, and have a option to say no. But i guess the fact that half the online casinos use rougish and deceptive practices justifies the rest going down the same route..

The vast majority of MGS casinos have an automatic crediting system for their signup bonus. The reasoning being that the vast majority of players want the bonus, hence an opt out rather than opt in system.

If the OP didn't want a bonus he had the opportunity to contact support and opt out before depositing.

I guess you feel 32Red should be rogued...IIRC their signup bonus is automatic.

Hi nifty,

Infact I looked into 32red, the bonus needs to be manually claimed. They are upfront and honest about it displaying the information on their website.

I know where I would take my business in future if I don't get a positive response.

I stand corrected.

When did you "look into" 32Red?

Could you please post a screenie of your playcheck log from the software showing when your signup bonus was credited and when your deposit was credited? It would clear a lot of things up. Thankyou

My personal opinion is that casinos should not allow bets e.g. on roulette if it's against the terms. I think that they are allowing this on purpose just to confiscate winnings, at least it seems that way because they are doing nothing to make the system better. And just because it's common doesn't mean it should be acceptable. It shouldn't be too hard for the software providers to make it work this way.

From my terrible memory i thought spin palace/group usually gives you a lil flash note on right side of casino lobby that slides out when a bonus is applied.:confused::confused:

Not sure if they still do this, i can remember getting a flash message a while ago after playing for a few hours (must have been one of those random raffle draw prizes.... aka i lost a stack of money here you go)

Actually, I think they do from memory.

All the OP has to do is provide the playcheck log entries and we will know for sure.

Fortune Lounge and Palace - when you open the first game after getting the SUB or any bonus you get a little closeable flash box in the bottom right of the game which says 'congratulations you have received xxx bonus' and click your balance in the bottom left of the casino and you'll clearly see a cash/bonus statement.

However, if you join any VPL casino, the SUB bonus is delayed up to 5 hours..... Their CS even recommends you don't play until you check back and it's there. I actually had a lucky break because of this; I deposited 50 at one, turned it into 370-odd and w/d. It was all cash obviously and it took about 3 hours to achieve. A few days later I had another play and went on CS asking where my bonus went and was told as I had made a w/d before it was awarded I wouldn't get it (I knew damn well but it was worth a try..) but in fairness I did get the 2nd. and 3rd. ones credited. The delay worked to my advantage in that case because I had no WR to satisfy on my initial deposit. If I hadn't made the w/d when I did, any minute after it could have been credited but my cash w/d would have been the same nevertheless as it would have simply voided the bonus by w/ding as they use the clearplay system.

I have however, on numerous MG sites, had bonuses delayed and credited DURING play - I have noticed my balance rise after a losing spin, checked, and seen it has arrived. Usually though, this is within a few minutes of commencing play. But what I will say, is that in ALL cases I was aware I had a bonus coming and had signed up for it.

I checked with 32Red. Deposit bonuses can be added automatically and emails are sent with the bonus. So to know the bonus is being added you would either need to notice your balance has increased or have checked your email. Welcome bonuses apparently need to be claimed through the promotions page when you deposit.

This is of course just 32Red and all Microgaming casinos handle their bonuses differently. It's at the discretion of the casino.

In my opinion no player should be bound to terms and conditions they did not manually or verbally accept. That's not saying this is what happened in the OP's case. It would be interesting to see exactly when the bonus was added. If it was added before any game play it would be obvious that there was more money in the account than was deposited. The fair thing to do would be to contact support and have the bonus removed. You can also opt out of all deposit bonuses at some casinos. I've done this before to guarantee that bonuses aren't automatically added.

If a bonus slips in during game play, that's an entirely different story. If this happened to me and I did not agree to any terms and conditions on this bonus before it was added, I would not feel obliged to adhere to them. If the casino likes they can later remove the bonus but any money I won in the meantime is mine. If the casino doesn't like this they can stop adding money to my account without asking first.

At no time should any player be bound to terms they did not agree to. If you want to protect yourself from having these hassles, check with the casino first to see if bonuses are automatically added and request that they aren't. I've never played at a casino that wouldn't agree to this.

I have no problem with WR, but I do find the maximum bet rules frustrating -especially as most software will not prevent you from exceeding.

I had a 3 part SUB at an MGS casino last night. Lost the first 100% pretty quickly and made sure the a/c was zero'd out. The 2nd one was 25% - I made a £120 deposit, so got a £30 bonus with a max bet allowed of up to, but not including, 30% - so my max bet allowed bet couldn't match or exceed £9 until I made the WR.

By the end of the evening - after a 3rd 50% bonus on a £200 deposit, I had accumulated £2000 (a tidy £1580 profit) and made a withdrawal request.

It then occurred to me that I had made some bets between £9 and £12.50. Fortunately MGS gamecheck (what a useful tool that is) confirmed that I had easily made the WR for the 2nd bonus before I made the larger bets and the bets were well within those allowed with the 3rd one.

So I am fine, but had a made the larger bets a little earlier - I would I guess have forfeited all my winnings. OK, rules are rules, but it's almost as if the 2nd part of the bonus -25% - is set low to catch you out. Had I only made the minimum allowed £20 deposit, any bets on or above £1.50 would have broken the rules

Bonus

Hi Everyone,

Sad that this is my second post and has to be negative. I have been a lurker for some time, mainly only going to the local casino regularly but have been thinking about doing it online for some time seeings it should provide a better chance compared to american roulette offered by local casino. I tend to spend a few hundred a week but mostly lose as you do.

So decided to finally give it a whirl after reading up on various casinos. Short of money due to my payroll being fortnightly I decided to use the very last $50 in my account for entertainment.

Was so excited to get started that I quickly filled out the forms, deposited some money and was ready to roll in the software within a few minutes. In the roulette tables immediately started putting some bets down. won some/lost some as you do. After a few I noticed my balance being over 100$ even though I deposited only 50. I didn't think that I won this amount so assumed maybe it was a join up bonus. More on this later.

So after several rolls. I thought my luck had run out and since I was up few hundred which is a rare. Decided to cash out. Now when I tried to do this realise that there was a requirement with the bonus to play more. I was very worried that I would lose this money now because I had such luck already. To my surprise I kept winning.

After playing over 3 days, I managed to be up a massive $10,000. I was jumping with joy and planning my spending with this win. As everyone else I have credit cards, loans etc. I even planned to play few hundred per week as a regular basis at this online casino.

Last night realized that I had 100$ on my account which was weird. I thought maybe its a bonus for getting a new teir or something. So I just left it to play with for the weekend. This was followed by a email a few hours later. I tried to get a more concrete answer as to why this occurred but the only this same r response which is pretty much just a copy and paste of a term which is listed in T&C. Could someone perhaps have a look at my play log and let me know where/if I actually was in the wrong? "Before any withdrawals are processed, your play will be reviewed for any irregular playing patterns. In the interests of fair gaming, equal, zero or low margin bets or hedge betting, shall all be considered irregular gaming for bonus play-through requirement purposes. Other examples of irregular game play include but are not limited to, placing single bets equal to or in excess of 30% or more of the value of the bonus credited to their account until such time as the wagering requirements for that bonus have been met. Should the Casino deem that irregular game play has occurred, the Casino reserves the right to withhold any withdrawals and/or confiscate all winnings."

I feel as if I broke terms that I have no idea why they are logically terms, nor was I advised of the issue when it apparently occurred, they actually let me continue to play additional days and now they wont even let me know how I specifically did it. Being new to this instead of helping me address the problem when it occurred, they just decided to void my legitimately gained winnings while I am just expected to accept it because it is in the terms? I can understand they need some terms to protect their business however If I am in the wrong I just really wish someone notified me earlier so I could opt out of the bonus, or if I was doing something wrong on first day to rectify it/issue warning. Maybe this should be restricted in software or have a notice that pops up or friendly reminder somehow when bonus applied to account so you cant break the terms?
Had I a choice or knew about the conditions of course you would opt out of having any bonus with such terms. I am not even sure if it was the bonus-play through requirements or if they think I had irregular playing patterns.

I haven't named this casino just yet, only because it has only been 24 hours since I contacted via this forum. Not sure what the acceptable time for this is before I should post it up.

I am sure I am in the same boat as many others, as I have read quite a few of these. Sadly I didn't notice this part of the forum earlier, I would have been more aware and I wouldn't be experiencing this problem now. Sorry to express my feelings, you probably have read this a million times over but it is nice to express it and I am sure many can relate!

Thanks for reading

Chris

Because of rules and stipulations with using a bonus is a reason I no longer use them. I play straight up with the money I deposit that way I am free to play what ever game I feel like. I also don't have to worry about making playthrough or max cashout. What I loose is mine and what I win is mine.

i think the casinos should have a way of NOT letting you place a bet that will put you in this situation. Just not be able to bet more that whatever percent until you have cleared the WR. Cant be that hard for them to do, then again - they would probably loose money.
Think about all the people breaking this rule and dont win, I bet they dont get a refund and another go?

I seized playing on the account since it happened as required and I listed my gmail as my ISP email seems to have a crazy spam filter, always misses emails so didn't want to risk it ~ I am on top of my emails as they come through to my phone and regularly on forum

Bonus play

I've had the same problems with 888 casino. I won - but found out I was only raising my bonus money - wich they will never pay out haha.

I had better luck before with 7red.com and royaalcasino.com. If u play with bonus money then every €1 win is yours to keep.

Started with 50 + 50bonus there.. turned it into 200+ and was able to cash out a little more than 150. I chose to cash out just 150 and play with the remaining few €€ (lost them ofcourse :):))
