today i was playing jurassic park and i was doing .30-.90 bets
i had 2 massive wins
and at peak balance i turned up the bet to 3.00
wins vanished and features vanished for about 40 minutes
what was my best option?
i wanted to keep playing and i figured I can't lose cus i was up so much
I've never seen anything like it
2 massive wins and I up the bet to lose it all in 40 minutes

Happens to all of us...

... we all have done it....thinking the big wins are just gonna keep happening...

Dunover has it right when he withdraws 70% of his highest balance. Imagine how many other 20 deposits you could have made elsewhere.
I am always sorry to hear of folks blowing big wins but I joined Casinomeister to learn from the wise and gain a better understanding of all things casino related.

Personally I would have withdrawn a sizeable chunk of that balance, but I never did get the 70% rule. That only applies after surely, when one knows what the peak balance was going to be?

And I feel when the slots are playing well it's only natural to increase betsize after all. Too often have games churned out consecutive sequences of good wins only to go ice cold out of nowhere. There's no accounting for what is an unfair fight against dodgy slot behaviour

Very good advice. BUT....when do you actually know you have reached your highest balance? Quite often if you continue playing, your balance goes south very quickly. And then Boom...another great win and you are back up to a very high balance.

But of course, sometimes your balance just continues going south, with no more wins to pull you back out of the mess.

Learning to recognise when that point occurs is a real challenge.

I posted before I saw your reply. Great minds think alike and all that... :D

I-and I am sure that Dunover- are referring to after getting a big win or a few big wins. I'm not talking about depositing 20 and getting to 60. Although with that size deposit a £40 withdrawal would do me if I got a lot of game play.
The OP is clearly referring to a very sizable return for a small amount.Under those terms I think that the 70% rule is wise. With a very positive balance there is room for increasing wagers while still sticking to the 70% of highest balance rule.

Its a guildline.
Lets say that your not in a position to deposit elsewhere afterwards if you withdrew and you had settled down to enjoy a few hours of game play. You still have choices before falling back down to that 70% of your highest balance before withdrawing.
Increase bets until it is at,say 80% of total balance then decrease your bets and move to another game.
Its hardly being hard on yourself to draw a line and stick to it

I don't really see it like that.....it shouldn't matter if I deposited 20 or a 100, it should be of no consequence to how the game plays.

Like I said, the prudent thing would have been to withdraw because 20> 700 is remarkable in itself. By the same token, if the game is handing out big wins you can't blame the OP for going for gold. For many, increasing bets like that doesn't come around that often.

I do think £3 bets are a bit excessive, even at £700 though. I'd have done it incrementally.

Just don't beat me up ok Colin?:cool:

You have often been part of my dreams Goatie but beating you up has never been part of them
Anyhow,I intended to give it a bash tonight. I was wanting to make a deposit an hour ago

Been there done that :) I think all of us, or at least majority.

My advise would be to place a limits (for example upper one and lower one - in your case that could be $500 & $1000). Once you drop to $500 time for a cashout, or if you are lucky enough to reach $1000 - again cashout ;-) )

Must have limit targets and avoid the GREED.

This happens to me all the time and over the years I have learned to set $$ targets and if I hit it then I stop and go on to the next place.

I do not worry about missing some random win, cause I may get that at the other place. That was a great hit and I know it hurts to see it wither away. But there is always another one around the corner.

Have fun playing, That is the main idea of this. Do not let human greed get you and think you out of money.

Try to set limits (playtime, cashout, bet size), but must be something you are happy with so there will be less temptation to break them.
And set your notifications on your phone and pc to remind them to you, just in case you are "in the zone".

A few weeks ago I turned 2.76 into 502.00 by getting an upexpected awesome win on Danger High Voltage. I think I played a couple more rounds maybe 10-20 spins then ran away and cashed out all of my money. It was a great feeling. There have been many a time when playing on a bonus I'd get my balance up to €700 or more only to have it go to zero on modest stakes. So if I get a big win now I run away like a scardy cat because I know I can save a few bob and have enough money left over to play elsewhere. I did this again when I had a good run at Videoslots last week. Every time my balance got to €100 or over I'd cash some of it out and kept playing with the remainder. Ended up with 3 cashouts that day.

Slots are fickle things and big wins are relatively rare so savoring those wins by cashing out a sizeable amount and then if you want up the stakes with the remaining balance to see if there is life left in the slot. This way you can keep playing knowing you have money in the bank.
