This is because some feelings got riled up in Sil's Medeivel Moolah thread. I kind of derailed it and decided to you guys a question in here::

Has everyone here that plays every day for 2 OR MORE years ever NOT win more than $500 on a spin of $1 or more bet? I dont mean every time you bet a $1 , what I mean is did you ever NOT win $500 plus betting higher than $1

I go to WS's and constantly see big wins on $1-$2 bets that dole out pretty nice wins of over $500. Im just wondering if its just my bad luck or whatever , it just seems like Im the only one that has never hit that $800-$1000 win on a $1-$2 bet. Granted , I dont bet $2 often but when I get my balance up there it is not unusual for me to do some but always bet $1 when Im over $40 on my balance until I reach about $25, then I go back to low rolling.

your not alone, I have never hit it big online either. I think my biggest hit online was only for 50-60$.

I have managed to do better at table games in a B&M casino however bringing $85 up to $13,500 in one night.

Of course I ended up playing 90% of that win back..but hey that's gambling..

Do you always play at one casino or do you play at all the different casinos with different software?

It's all about timing I suppose...As I've said before, I've won 167.50 from a 0.9p bet :eek2: but would I have got that particular winning line if my bet was, say, 1.20 ?? One doubts it.

I was thinking the exact same thing as you posted Babs, your looking at ppl like KK arent you with all of his screenshots we see over the $500 mark.

The best I have done in the 2+ years of online gamblinig is $790 off a 60 cent bet on intercasino's indian game. hit the 100 free spins and it re-triggered for about 800 spins in total and thats what I got. That is the only one I have done though, after that I have won $250 betting a dollar on a MG machine... not really the best is it.

    wow Babs

You really made me have to think there
I was going to say no for $1, but yes I did hit a feature at RTG on golden retriever, for about $1300, I got 5 bones during the spins.

Ive hit over 500 on a $2.50 bet a couple of times at RTG. But thats doesnt really count because its not $1.

and $300 at 3dice on a 50 cent bet a couple of times also

apart from that on a $1 bet, $100-$200 a bit on RTG's but not often,

good luck babs it must be due

I have, at most of the platforms I have played. Since I usually take a bonus, these wins do not always lead to cashouts.

Over the years yes..5 pyramids on Cleo, 5 Achilles in a row..$500 and $1 a spin. Scary Rich 2 though has been the best. $1.20 a spin..$800 (trying to go through the WR) and then a little while later I upped it to $2 and hit $1890 in the free spins:thumbsup: (trust me, I have NO illusions of doing that ever again) but it was fun and made a nice cashout! Normally I low roll until I figure out what the slot is doing. Good luck Babs..you'll get it!

    $1 bets

Since we players in the US are basically stuck with RTG casinos, and Rival, which I just started playing at, I have hit over $500 many times on a dollar bet. In RTG, I have won a couple of RJ's, but the most consistent wins I make with a dollar bet is in keno. I play the same set of numbers, and have hit them more times than I can count. I just started playing at Rushmore Casino, and the RJ's there are HUGE!!!! Many are over $20,000! What's cool with these RJ's is that they can be hit with a 20cent bet, same as if you are betting $100 a spin. When the RJ hits it hits no matter what the bet is.

it sounds like youve just been unlucky,

in my case i once hit 2k for a $1 spin and had several around the $300/$400 at rtg,
the bigger wins seem scarcer at micro, for a $1 bet i think the biggest was around $200/$250 the average seems about $50/60

As a matter of fact on the mm game at 60 cent spin i got 4 suns and the top line pay for over 800. This was last year so im trying to recall it all. Ss was the same 45 cent bet was another 400 and few other games i did well on. That was my first deposit and i must say was shocked after hitting withdraw and sending id i had my money in my account in less then a hour.
Right now i cant get in there at all as i do like to play at 3dice.
The new game tech i think its called paid 172 dollars on a 27 cent spin

    Hi Lauram

Yeah, I too have hit for $300-$400 on an 81 cent bet too and I really did appreciate those nice hits. Its just that I get the same result or WAY less on higher bets and Its been over 2 years. Not too long ago (again I appreciate what I got) but I did a $7.50 on FFalls and got 4 butterflies and ended up with about $350, When I see $1200 hits on $1-$2 bets on this game over and over, it just disheartens me because (even has RobWin took notice at my bet and even said "what the hell are you doing betting $7.50 lol), I rarely do it and when I take that chance (ie gambling with higer wagers) and hit 4 butterflies , I really expected a bigger win.

Another example is that RTG Medal one that has only $1 bet option. I got the free spins PLUS it retriggered and I ended up with $50??

Another example $2.20 bet on payola with 33 spins and a retrigger, end result $12.48

Maybe I shouldnt be gambling. I feel like Richard Dryfuss on "let it ride". I just cant catch that break and get a nice one. Im not even asking for a RJ because I know chances are Ill never hit one but I just feel that ANYONE who gambles on a daily basis for over 2years online and has been gambling in land based for over 25 years (not on a daily basis but for sure monthly basis) should have hit for over $1K by now.

And Please, I dont want people to think that I think " I deserve it" I just feel that somewhere out there someone doesnt want me to have my moment and it just stings. Everyone has been saying "be patient, your day will come" I really dont think it will and Im wondering If Im just wasting my time and money trying.

    Babs,

I totally agree with you. I have spent quite alot with RTG's and while I have cashed out frequently, I have never seen a RJ. You would think that the odds of hitting one would increase with the amount of play. Or they would take pity on me and give me a pity win. :D

This is one of the worst games released as stated in another thread..the acutal payback for the amount of bet is almost insulting...this is not a game to play in real mode at all..I still dablle in it for fun just to see if there is a "payoff" as promised but as of yet have yet to see it...

Again, I repeat, variance is another word for "steal" by any casino. Otherwise , as stated before, there would be many more screenshots of these "high variance hits" since so many play...I mean there are players in the thousands but yet, we have only a few announcements by casinos and few screenshots posted here of a hit or two...so the conclusion of this saying "high variance" means lets "steal" from the player...cause they are stupid enough to believe in this variance lie.

No matter how you paint it with a brush or words...variance means squat...just another way to entice players in "trying" to catch the big one when there is no way in heaven you would ever get it and if the chance is even there slightly, it wouldn't hit until enough players have lost their stash to cover your "hit" . Thats why you do not see many "whoppers" of a hit like you should because thousands are chasing it and it should show more hitting them.
I too vary my bets and find the more one bets, the less the return...I feel there is a trigger or guard in place in these casinos to keep from having a huge hit as one would expect from a large bet and a bonus round hit..

RTG actually has these in place and was confirmed by Inetbet..so we know it can be done..so the higher the bet...the less of a payout is made..it has been verified..

Anyone notice all the 40-60 and 80 cent bets always show a higher win than $1-2 dollar wins? Check the screen shots...the threshold is that dollar mark..and is the trigger at these casinos IMO.

I have been playing Cashpiller since it came out and I have upped my bet to $2-3 dollars and have hit less than thirty dollars on bonus rounds on it numerous times, I lowered it to a dollar and have hit $500 plus on it..a lot of times..go figure..

    JMO...

    A possible reason

A win of 500-for-1 (or more) is very large by slot standards and is a very rare event.

Low variance games tend to give a lot of small wins and not many big wins. Many players enjoy these types of slots because their balance goes down very slowly over the long run. This allows the players a lot of time at the games for their investment, and that type of entertainment is usually what players want.

High variance games tend to give very few small wins, and are more focused on the large win. The prototypical large variance game is a lottery. Almost everyone loses their dollar. Imagine 100 million tickets sold and one winning lottery ticket. If you were to play a slot machine called "Lottery Slot" then you would lose on just about every pull and your deposit would vanish pretty quickly. You could go a lifetime and never win a single jackpot. Very few people enjoy slots like this (but they still play the lottery!).

A large variance slot in B&M was introduced in the late 1990's: it paid either $100 or $0 for a $1 bet. The odds of winning the $100 were about 105-to-1, hence the casino edge. I saw these slots in many casinos in Las Vegas about that time. These slots quickly died out on the casino floor due to non-use and it has been over 5 years since I've seen one.

I have audited online slots that were low variance that have subsequently been modified to be high variance games. These games pay out the same percentage to the player in either form. After the modification, in one case the volume of play on the slot dropped by more than half.

So, from a marketing point of view, high variance slots don't sell. Consumers don't like them.

It is in the best interest of most casinos to offer low variance slots, or else to make very clear to the player that the game he is playing is high variance slot so that he doesn't lose his patience.

Here is a reverse way of thinking about it. You are not seeing a lot of large payouts because you're still playing at online casinos and haven't been burnt out. If the slots mostly gave large payouts and almost no small ones (lottery style), I'm pretty sure you'd be gone by now and wouldn't have posted this discussion. So the fact that slots don't pay very well but pay often is a good reason to keep playing them for most people.

HA HA Eliot, an excerpt from a chat transcript from March 8, 2007, yep almost 2 years ago.

Casino name, casino rep., the first part of my email addy, and the referenced name of the slot eliminated to protect the innocent, guilty, masters of their own domain, perhaps masters of something more sinister. I dunno, did the birds kill the 2 engines or did the 2 engines kill the birds???? I know what PETA would say:p:rolleyes::p

Not really, you see numerous screenshots showing this but when the bet increases, you don't see many screenshots showing double this win or more...so there has to be a cap on a lot of these games and a trigger that says if the bet is this", then the win will be this"...

I was asked to clarify this and I will..the cap that I was talking about was for the payout on certain games...the win amount vs the bet amount was in essence, the higher the bet, the more invested, leaves less in wins..again, this has been my opinion and the play I have been getting as stated earlier whenever the bet is raised the payback is a lot lower in all areas...

Inetbet confirmed this cap in another thread..and the verified I was talking about was MINE...hope that clears up any misconceptions on what I was trying to get across..

I guess because casinos underestimated players and thinking we are stupid..IMO...and it backfired as it will at some of these casinos...

No one is talking strictly about large payouts, we are talking about so FEW large payouts, you can count them on one hand for any given YEAR for all online casinos..that are accredited of course.. :D

Actually more and more are doing this and they should all fail IMO..for trying to sucker a player that is their bread and butter..and in the long run, they will all fade away becasue we are smarter than they think.. and know when something is fishy..and when people pop up with the word VARIANCE it is time to run and run "FAST".. Since it is just another word used to replace "GREEDY"
