Say I was playing at a casino and they 'accidentally' credited me some money. If I gamble with that money and they accept the wagers, should they pay me any wins made from that money?

    Thanks

IMO no. One or two would though. It's like if a bank accidentally credited your account with $1 million, you can bet after they took it back they wouldn't let you keep you the interest on it (in fact if you'd withdrawn some the bank would probably take it back and charge you interest for being overdrawn!)

Yup and charge you for notifying that they were charging you :eek2:

I have to agree with Simmo and say no it was not your money to wager so any bets should be void.

This has happened to me twice. Twice I told the casino's concerned.

One casino let me keep the money, the second said 'oops' and took it back as quickly as they'd deposited it!

Once, I thought it was the casino's fault. But when I checked my notes and accounts they had merely credited me with one of my deposits which had disappeared from NEteller but hadn't shown up in my account -- from 3 months before.

Once (it was a few hundred dollars) I contacted the casino, told them they didn't owe me that money, the casino said yes they did. I said no they didn't, they said yes ... After 2 weeks of similar exchanges, I gave up, played it, won a little and cashed out.

One casino credited me with $50. After several email exchanges I learned it was part of a previous withdrawal that had gotten 'mislaid'. (Some casinos credit withdrawals in the same amounts of your deposits.)

One casino had credited me with $7.50 -- but I didn't know it. I had deposited $25, played a while, left the money in my account to play later. I go back later, play a bit, and after a few sessions turned it all into $250 and tried to cash out. Then I found out it they had put that itty bitty 'bonus' into my account. Grrrrr. Busted out meeting the last bit of WR, got into an email 'shouting match' with CS and uninstalled the casino. (Note to casinos: Do NOT 'sneak' bonuses into my account!)

My recommendation: Check with CS (more than once if necessary) to clarify the source/reason for the funds.

    I would live chat them

    Hi

If it were me, I would live chat them to make sure they meant to give me that money. Maybe it was a bonus for your bday or something. That way if it's okay to keep it, you wont be playing with guilt on every bet

It would be most unwise to play it and WIN, this would give them every excuse to void the winnings.
If the amount is small, it would be reasonable to keep it as a bonus (many times I have had a bonus added, but no E-mail telling me why).
If the casino has a decent cashcheck facility, it should be possible to find out where the funds came from. With MG, it is PLAYCHECK that you need to look at to track a bonus, select the relevant session, and apply the game filter to show a game you have not played, then select "detail" - this should show the bonus. Some MG casinos have a bug, where the filter is lost when you select "detail".

If the amount is large, and pretty obviously a mistake, I doubt you could get away with playing it, although if you lost it, you could just uninstall the casino rather than have them deduct it from your next deposit (as many will do).

The biggest mistake I have experienced was when I had a Neteller timeout. I complained to CS, and was not happy to be told it would take till after the weekend (I wanted to play a promotion). They managed to credit the 2000, and I played, however, at the end of the weekend ANOTHER 2000 appeared. It took THREE attempts to convince CS is wasn't mine, and when I did manage, they said it could take 48 hours to fix, but in the meantime I could play, and they would deduct the 2000 from my balance. I didn't play, as I didn't want to risk losing it & having my next deposits owing to the casino. I got 100 for my honesty:)

I have read here of a player at 32Red who had over 1000 credited twice in error as a withdrawal, and 32Red let them keep it:eek: (Which made them look a bit silly, as they had given 32Red a public roasting on the forum over it).

Thanks all :) It was hypothetical and I was asking for a friend, thought it might have been a way to recoup something. No more details but it was in the kilobucks range.

I have had it occur a couple of times. Last time it was some ecocard chaos where they didn't accept the transfer from casino, so casino tried again and they both went through at the same time:eek2: I didn't get any kudos for putting it back in my casino account for the manager to wipe, but that's okay.
Another time a casino had just joined CR and didn't have their terms straight yet. ( no minimum # of bets) I took some free dough into LOADED betting big and won scads. The CS was a bit bitchy insisting that the term was there when it wasn't. I finally said, whatever, and went back in and played one penny one line to meet the term. (and to piss them off :D) Next day there was another $200 cash.

You know that feeling you get when you walk by a coin slot and there's one in the bin? No player card there, just a leftover coin. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't.
