Hump Day - or any day! (vent and rejoice.)

There's always a little lull in the forums when most reps and members go offline and we're looking for various threads to offer our 2 cents or participate or kill boredom.
So, let's share how our week is, whether crappy or getting better....a little venting, a little sharing, bummer days or better days, and even the mundane ...simply because we want the company and to chat with members....just, sharing a little slice of our lives and maybe knowing each other a little more. :)

Me: too hot this side...thirties and the muggy kind so hiding indoors for the most part - even the monsters won't go out. But...stoked for the upcming long weekend. 1st (and probably only) camping trip of the year...and, most excited for, the first time I'll have gotten away from the dogs in over a year; since I've 2 I have to take them everywhere even when going somewhere overnight.

It's a Civic Holiday here in Canada (next weekend). I see the Americans have to wait til September for their next long weekend, but I imagine, round this time of year plenty of people are taking their summer family vacations. Big summer plans anyone?

Very painful indeed rockycat, i hope all goes well. For that price it better

Looking forward to the long weekend. This summer has sucked so far though. Our pool should be at 90C but is not working. Either collapsed pipe or a blockage. Fridge broke down -- bought a new one and now the old fridge works better then ever. Washing machine broke down. Hmmm ... what else. Oh yeah -- can't collect on $250 winnings. I never win anything so this is a big deal for me. $100 being bounced back from Visa and no one can locate it and $150 due to my stupidity on putting in the wrong account number on the e-wire. And again, funds are somewhere in cyberspace. Yes, hot as hell and thanks for listening! Dying to put down a deposit but things have just gone soooo wrong with these offshore casinos but damn if I will ever go back to PlayOLG.

Ya, been one strange summer weather-wise...was cold and rainy so long and now? BAM - unbearably hot. No middle ground - either kept us all indoors. Been wanting to sit on the deck nights but the mosquitoes are just evil this year.
For a country, where it's pretty much winter 9 months of the year lol, you really pray for that ideal summer.
Oh Hellz - just looked, calls for rain all long weekend....d'oh!

@dionysus. Whereabouts are you from? I'm from Mississauga and they're calling for great weather all weekend long. Mosquitos haven't been really that bad this year here. Like you said though -- went from rain to this. Just tried to sit outdoors for a while but it's unbearable. Can just imagine my hydro bill this month!

ON..I'm in the beach but camping in Parry Sound, where it calls for rain.
Mossies are rough here, though to be fair, I have hedging all around the house (and it is cottage country).

Yeah -- would be much worse then Mississauga for sure. Well, have a great time camping. It's only Wednesday so things may change!

Worst case, we hide in tents and under tarps - we won't melt and I'm going even if there's a tornado watch lol.
Enjoy your weekend too - head up north, screw the pool and hit the beaches. :)

Bangkok today - 35 degrees C, 95% humidity (we have rainy season), 3 x heavy thunderstorms - but i am OK with it :)

What made me somewhat sad today is this:

More than 1 year ago a very good friend was on flight MH370 which then disappeared into the unknown. Today i read these sad news, which seem very probable to belong to the 777:

So Sorry to hear that Harry. Not knowing is the worse!

Burnt and crispy and fantastic 4 days away of camping, time on and in the lake, organized events and the storm only came the final day (and thankfully none of the tornados touched down close). Hope other Canuckleheeads had a good long weekend and there's big plans for the Americans this coming one.

was a great long weekend for sure!! had a day to recoup and was back to work last night (midnight's) got 7 in a row :eek2: all good help the pay from the 5 off lol hoping to get in more playtime on some slots (sleep permitting) have a great week/weekend everyone

TGIF (sorta). I made an attempt to quit smoking a few weeks back, I didn't last long. I am out of smokes, but not out of money. If I decide today is not the day, it will end up meaning the day after and the day after is not.

There are things that are more fun than smoking. But few things seem more miserable than not smoking.

Unless it's not smoking and not drinking coffee.

Quitting is easy - I've done it thousands of times. :D
Funnily enough, thought to give it a go this week. I lasted two days before losing my sh*t in directions it shouldn't have gone. :p
Also, the $ I saved on not buying smokes turned out to be more expensive, in that the $10 a day saved equalled $30 in extra groceries scarfed lol.

I'd like to quit, I'm just one miserable s.o.b. during the process and would need a 3 day period away from the animals where I could detox without becoming the memed grumpy cat v the dogs (OMG??? I JUST put you out, argle blargle rawwwwr).

But GL Jazzy - hope you succeed to pass the 3 day mark, the worst of the lot.

I bought cigs. It's easier to go beerless. I'm not that fond of beerless on a friday night, but we all have our priorities.

Now, before anyone starts a GoFundJazzy acct, I do have a drink in the house. I decided Friday at 5 is cocktail hour at Cucina Linda. Last week was frozen Blue Margaritas. Finally got around to buying a decent bottle of hot sauce, so I think it's a gin Caesar today. Not feeling like something sweet.

I can only drink one sweet cocktail. Beer is not sweet. Heartburn is too rough after two caesars, lol.

I really like Daquiris, but the rum supply is low. Since an upcoming trip to Cuba will let me bring great rum home cheaply, I've been choosing other spirits.

I squeeze fresh juices, macerate fruits, garnish rims, use fancy glasses. There's usually a buddy or two willing to see what the blender brings. They have pulled weeds or tended garden, helped me out with a ride or picking up something for me. Like beer for the next round, lol.

Have a great summer weekend everyone!

Ya, summers here are usually fruity, frothy things on the deck and around the fire (margaritas, daquiris etc), coolers, sangria, Caesars and beer.
This summer, been pretty much just beer (economics maybe), and well, laziness and lack of general interest I guess. We did have a glow-in-the-dark, black light themed party last month here and that was pretty fun, but about it for that.

Gah...over 100 degrees here today. Considered a beach day, but just asking for heat stroke...even the animals would sooner hold it then go out and pee.
100 is doable - but it's muggy as @#$%. I volunteer the first car window brick anyone has doggies in cars today.

A humpy day of goods and bads. Bad in, walk in to physio and of course naturally, don't feel much pain to complain off. Sadly, after the appt is cleaning and draining the hot tub lol, so NOW the pain kicks in.

Anywho, long weekend here coming in a few days - what we'd consider the summer's-end mark, and running getting ready to accommodate everyone for the camping weekend here. Labour Day in the states as well, no? Any long weekends elsewhere? Big plans anyone?
