I've been seeing some messages on the world wide web - some old, some new, and this has to do with being banned at Casinomeister. There seems to be a load of confusion on what is ban worthy, and what is not, so to nip all of this in the bud for transparency's sake - let me clarify a few things.
To begin with, please familiarize yourself with our forum rules. They can be found here:
Forum Rules
The easiest way to get banned is posting spam. Most of you never see the spam posted on this forum since Vortran007 - our security chief catches it before it even goes live. Spammers are reported to third party spam databases and this is stated in our rules.
Now, we've had forum members who posted spam links after getting cosy. These guys and gals will probably just have the link removed and a warning given. Sometimes they get the boot - it depends on the situation. And if they email me to apologize, 9 times out of 10 I let them back in.
Repeated flaming: I get it - talking about being ripped off or gambling wrong, or going postal on Trumpeters or Brexit fans - one can say things that are insulting, belittling, or down right mean. This is usually met with a warning, an infraction given, and only in cases of extreme flaming (calling women the dreaded "c" word) or anything racist, or homophobic, those folks will usually get kicked to the curb. This is usually a three strikes yer out sort of thing.
Threatening or abusive behavior: this should speak for itself, but there are people who use the anonymity of the Internet to attack others. I won't stand for it. Those folks who attack our members, moderators and admins, and iGaming reps will find this place blocked from their amusement. Serious threats will be reported to their local police departments.
Being a PITA: these are the peeps who just enjoy being trolls, or just being plain old ordinary douche bags. They usually know what they are doing and just annoy people by being a dick. I don't enforce this too often, but it is usually after the person has received more than their share of infractions and/or warnings or suspensions.
Posting defamatory comments or conducting malicious attacks directed at Casinomeister: This is where members post malicious statements elsewhere. Opinions are fine, but when it's a malicious attack against me personally or the Casinomeister brand, then it's adios dude. This also includes ddos attacks, spam attacks etc., etc.
Inciting player fraud or being a fraudster: Player fraud is the bane of the industry - much more than casino fraud. Don't do it and don't entice our members to do it.
Abusing casino support staff - exploiting one's membership: This pertains to off-site casino staff. I have seen chat sessions that would make your eye balls bleed. If a member of our forum is threatening or abusive to support staff, this is a reason to have your account here terminated. Badgering casino peeps to give in to your demands or else you'll write a bad review here - that is another way of jeopardizing your membership. When in doubt, take the complaint to us.
Abusing the PAB system: This is where a player submits a knowingly fraudulent complaint i.e. is aware of making false claims or untrue statements.
Posting complaints without following our Zero Tolerance policy: We've been pretty lenient on this, but members really need to follow the procedures on posting complaints i.e. it's truthful, it's tactful, and that an effort has been made to contact the casino rep if there is one.
Wow, the list is getting long.
Okay how about how NOT to get banned.
You won't get banned for disagreeing with me, or with any of our mods. You won't get banned for voicing a complaint about Casinomeister or how we do things, or how we rate casinos, or how I make videos. lol "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"
You won't get banned for saying this (enter accred casino name) is bollocks. Just tell us why you think that and we can go from there. There are no sacred cows at Casinomeister - we have a twenty year history where a fair number of what was thought a respectable casino property go down the toilet. Just read the Fall From Grace awards
But when being critical, we desire a bit of respect and decorum. You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.
Freedom of expression is essential to a well functioning forum - one that is powerful, informative, and enjoyable. I will never be able to please everyone; that's just not going to happen. Agreeing to disagree can go a long way IMO. The only time you will find your freedom of expression limited is when you go into attack mode. Just be cool.
I understand the power of a community - and where the community gets its power is via an inundation of voices and opinions from left, right, and center.
I have an open door policy here is well. You don't like the way things are going or what I'm doing, PM me. Those who know me know that I'm easygoing and I'm open to suggestions. And for those who find themselves suspended or banned, sometimes all it takes is an apology to get back in.
Unless I am traveling (which I have been a lot recently), I will get back to you.
The bottom line is that I value and appreciate our membership, whether you agree with me or not. We are all a part of this community - the most awesome community on the Internet.
And if you are a visitor who has not yet registered, sign up now and become one of us
Those who sign up will be invited to our Meister Meeting in February in Leicester Square London.
