I still have a day left to start, right?
I hate shopping, my grandsons love getting gift cards (the youngest one calls them credit cards) so I usually get them each a few from the bookstore, the craft store and gaming store. The older ones get cash. But I try to get one small gift for them to open. Did I mention I hate shopping?
I find it discouraging to go into a store when people are so angry and rude. Common courteousy is completely forgotten. Don't you just love the onesided cell phone conversations or the parents who are 7 aisles away, but you can hear them reprimanding their kids?
What I do miss this time of year...
Making strings of popcorn to put on the tree,
the sound of the little ones trying to be quiet as they go to check under the tree on Christmas morning,
Christmas caroling (although some of my customers have been trying to serenade me with Sing-Along_With_Mitch renditions. Ever heard Rudolph sung in a round? It's an experience you should be glad you missed!
)
Making snowangels and trying to catch snowflakes on your tongue.
Ice skating, then going home and having mom make the best hot chocolate with tons of marshmallows.
Oops, sorry for the slight derail...
