How honest are you?

gfk: do the casinos still have the 24hr membership approval? I'm in London for 3 days in Jan (ICE) and quite fancy the idea of giving one a whirl.

So which one is closest to the Venetian in aura? ;)

Venetian in aura? I don't get you.

They no longer have the 24hr membership approval. You just walk in show some identification, they take a pic of you and you are in. What sort of casino you looking for? If you tell me what you "want to find" i'll send you to the right place.

Where? I have never got free drinks or snacks in Manchester.

Generally if you are playing you get these for free in London. I was at the Victoria on edgware road couple of months ago and the guy at the bar was refusing to give me a sandwitch. He said I need to order it from the girls regardless if virtually there where no girls and you had to wait:mad:

The service is poor in most low class london casinos. You need to go to middle-upper class clubs to see some decent stuff.
I remember going to the Palm beach where I wasn't allowed to go in because I wasn't wearing a jacket. However the lady went inside and brought me a jacket to wear:thumbsup:. It had in the inside a palm beach label. Kinda funny/unusuall if you think about it.

I was being facetious regards the Venetian - ignore me :D

Well...ideally my ideal casino would have IGT games like Spin Poker/Multi-Strike and some good free spins slots. BJ and Roulette are a given. Has to be somewhere I can wear jeans and trainers and feel comfortable.

I can't wear a tie or a jacket without feeling oppressed. I hate being told what to wear to socialise....it's my pet hate in fact...it's why I never go to clubs, formal social functions or golf day dinners :)

Where will you be staying? You seem like a slot guy so Gala at Tottenham court road has the most slots of all London casinos. You can get in with jeans and trainers.

where?

The Albion and Midland to name but two.I have been in a few others and not had to pay also but not been in those for a while.
They are quite low class Casinos I guess but then I am a low class kinda Guy.
By the way this is when at the tables and not at the bar.
Also the Albion used to do a free buffet around Xmas but I do'nt know if that is on this Year.I guess I might have to go to the soup house instead:mad:

Jeez... talk about Vegas on the brain...

No chance of IGT slots in any casino in London, unless they've changed things since last year. Definitely not Spin Poker or Multistrike.

The Gala will do, worth having a second look if it's been redone.

The new laws allow a lot more slots and jackpots up to 4,000

First I would have actually thought I made the mistake and I must have won, then afterwards I would have slapped that man right out of his chair for not minding his business, afterall it's not like he had to pay you lol, makes ya wonder what he would have done if it happened to him..casino's have enough money, next time it happens don't think twice, lol
In the past I have handed in wallets and told cashtill clerks when they have undercharged or given me too much change.Quite the model citizen.
Well not quite;
I was in the Casino on Friday night playing at the Blackjack tables.I was in the last seat and having a nightmare, although I was winning for the rest of the table(I was so happy for them).I was around 200 down playing 5 stakes when I had mini revival but because I was chasing I doubled up my stake upto 40 and just hoped to win a few more hands or hit a BJ or two.Anyway I was dealt 11 against the dealers 5 and doubled up fearing the worse.I hit an A making 12 and now my only hope was for the dealer to bust. She drew a 3(8) another 3(11) and a 7(18) sealing my fate.Except she then proceeded to pay a guy at the front with 19 and then me with 12(80).
A few thoughts flashed through my head, Casinos are evil, dont look a gift horse in the mouth, you need the money, anything to vindicate my decision to take the money. Then, just as I was about to take the money, the guy at the front shouts out.
"Wo, wait love, you have paid him out there when you have beat him."
Now that was honest of him if somewhat unappreciated and un-necessary.Surfice to say it ended in a fierce slanging match between us.
So, how honest would you be?

It is nice to know that people here do not think I acted out of turn.Pitty you were'nt all there at the time we could of all shouted "prick!" at him at the same time :)
PS
That is my dream to have a slot pay me out wrongly ;)

we had one do that in laughlin it empted everything that was in its hooper which was over 100 and something $. we said lets get out of here and we did keeping everything that was given to us. they r buttheads when u win big like i did over 5,000$ and they acted like i broke the slot and made it land on the winner com would not even let me play off the money i had lifted in it which is what they r supp to do. so i say fair is fair take what is given to u and run. lol

Ahhh the way we were.

I never did get Xmas buffet

Don't worry Luigi it is more important you are an active member.
If nobody posted the forum would not exist, then what would I do

LMAOOOO, I had no idea, as you can see I'm new here and trying soooo hard to figure out what I'm doing, lol and yes, I am blonde, lol (no offence to blondes, :)

Out of curiosity, how did you find this thread in order to add to it?

Many members seem to bump up an old thread without realising it at the time, yet these old threads are many pages down in the listings, so how do you find them "accidentally". Is it a potential shortcoming in the forum "search" function? (which is my own impression).

When you search for something, you can often come across an oldie, and at the bottom will be a "similar threads" message.

BTW, with regards to original post, one time when I was playing blackjack at Casino du Hull, the whole table was losing. I finally hit a winning hand and the dealer mistakenly gave me a $25 chip instead of a $5. I pointed this out, was thanked by him, and the luck for the whole table changed. Now, I believe that this had absolutely no bearing on what followed, but when I did this, other players told me that you do not have to, and I just said Karma. Well, I was a popular gal and the dealer went bust hand after hand.

If the dealer has too many mistakes, he will not have his job for long. We are all human, but it was not up to the other player to determine your moral code.

You're so right...Karma is everything. It's also a two-edged sword, and more people need to realize that!
