How do you react to a big loss?

After a long session today of up and down play I’ve inevitably come away with a pretty good chunk of a loss which will keep me from playing for a while. Strange how the behaviours of games can change the way they do makes you think you’re being tracked ha. Although I was reminded every 30 minutes by what amount I was up or more often than not down for the session lol.

It's all relative of course, but after a sound beating I tend to sulk for the remainder of that day, ruing my inability to stop chasing the equalizing wonder-hit that never comes.

Next day, when I've calmed down and there's no more furniture left to smash or cats to fling out of windows, I'll rationalize what occurred prior, deconstruct it if you will.

General conclusion drawn is that I was a hapless weak-willed dopamine fiend chasing the slot dragon, and so a little later I'll vow to never repeat that again.

Do that a few times and you'll get to what I'm doing now, abstaining through sheer stubbornness and only opting to gamble once a month within a budget. It's been working tickety-boo for a while now, albeit after 7-8 years of PAIN

I find some days nothing pays anywhere, often when I didnt really feel like playing in the first place, pisses
me off as I cant blame anyone else but myself. On the flip side sometimes you can win on everything you play including the biggest load of shite.
If i do have a big loss it puts me off playing for a few days,if i get a run of bad sessions i will do a take a break for week, kind of resets the brain and makes me more careful when I do resume playing.

These days my deposit limits are very strict so a real "big" loss isn't possible anymore, thank fuck...

But I've had to take a walk in the past, like literally walk half an hour around the neighbourhood to calm down

Porn is probably a great solution too.
But if porn fails, which happens occasionally at my age, I then visit the fridge

Incidentally. Am I the only one that needs to build themselves up to making their next deposit after a god damn awful run on the slots? I have been revving up for like 4 hours while nursing my bottle of joy!

I have really had a bad few months and it is all in VS. I am about to dive in in the new dog house thing before bed in VS.
Lets hope I don't have to visit the fridge

Think in a perverse way the restrictions being imposed on us by our beloved UKGC have helped to change
my attitude to gambling, knowing that large deposits are more or less a nono nowdays makes me a lot more careful in the way I play and the big (sometimes horrendous) losses of the past can never happen again.
Good job as I too old to go through that shit again, quite happy playing low stakes now and dont tend to chase
anymore.
