Does anyone know anything on them? I was going to try them just was curious if anyone has had any info. Thanks

Vegas Tech software, certified by a guy I haven't come across before using a seal that I seem to recall was associated with Mike Shackleton, the Wizard of Odds at one time:

QUOTE: All on line games produced by Hot Pepper Casino are audited for fairness of play by independent third party gaming expert, Dr. Eliot Jacobson, Ph.D, whose gaming audit and analysis services are available through www.jacobsongaming.com and www.certifiedfairgambling.com. These audits are undertaken on a monthly basis. UNQUOTE

If you click on the "Certified Fair Gaming" seal it will take you through to the payout percentages that Dr. J claims to monitor and certify.

English Harbour group uses this software, but I seem to recall hearing that Hot Pepper Casino was not a subsidiary of that group although it licensed the software - you might be able to confirm that by using the search function here as I'm almost sure Hot Pepper has been discussed before.

Thank you Jetset - I found a very informative thread on Hot pepper.

Auditing Hot Pepper Casino

Greetings,

I pay attention to the posts on this web site, especially with regard to client casinos. "Hot Pepper Casino" is a client. I primarily read this site for issues regarding statistical game fairness, and do not follow threads on payment, bonuses, or other issues.

I perform a rigorous in-depth monthly audit of the software and results for each client casino. Normally, I cannot disclose specific information about audits or client casinos beyond what the client posts. My sole duty as an auditor is to insure the ongoing statistical fairness of the software to the best of my ability. Knowing others who do similar work, I honestly believe that my monthly audits are among the most rigorous (and frequent) in the business.

If you have any questions about CFG (Certified Fair Gambling), please feel free to ask.

Great to see an upfront presence, Dr. J, so I'm sure you're welcome here and could be a valuable contributor.

Did you take over the seal from the Wizard? I don't pretend to understand the technical complexities of monitoring and auditing game fairness, but can you give us a layman's guide to how you go about it at Certified Fair Gambling, and what experience and qualifications you have?

BTW that is not a provocative question but one of simple curiousity!

Do you have a list of other operations that you audit?

There's a full bio/overview at his website JS... Some comments from Michael Shackleford too

Jacobson Gaming's primary specialty is casino game analysis, including mathematical and statistical models for casino games, game design, risk analysis and house edge.

Michael Shackleford, the Wizard of Odds, recommends Jacobson Gaming: "Eliot's credentials include teaching mathematics and computer science at my own alma-mater, the University of California at Santa Barbara, as well as being a well known and respected blackjack expert. Just as important, his honesty and integrity are impeccable."

The main auditor is Eliot Jacobson, Ph.D. Eliot has a Ph.D. in mathematics and was professor of mathematics at Ohio University from 1983 to 1998. He currently teaches computer science at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Eliot's recent book, " The Blackjack Zone ," is widely praised for its clear presentation of the principles of blackjack. He was featured on National Geographic Channel's documentary " Beating Vegas ," on KLAS TV in Las Vegas, and he was a frequent guest on Vegas Talk Radio. He currently writes for " Table Talk " and " Blackjack Insider. " A recent resume for Eliot Jacobson is here.

What casinos and software providers have used this service?

Jacobson Gaming keeps its client list confidential. However, Jacobson Gaming has worked with individual game developers, as well as corporate clients around the world. Jacobson Gaming clients include companies located in Canada, Israel, Costa Rica, the Netherlands, South Africa, Mexico, Aruba, Curacao Netherlands Antilles, the United States, and elsewhere.

Software

The games may be fair, but when I tried the casino a while back i found the software a big problem. There were huge delays in responses that make the usual Microgaming delays look pretty reasonable. I would often wait around a MINUTE for the slot to settle a game. I did not continue to play after the welcome bonus, and uninstalled the software. I have not tried it recently, nor on my newer PC. I believe part of the problem was down to my old PC, but this did not account for the server taking a long time to return most results.
There also seemed to be some bugs in the software that made it unfriendly to use, big problems loading and unloading games, and navigating within the lobby. These may also have been down to server response times.

I don't believe they have anything to do with English harbour group, but would have suffered fallout from the earlier Video Poker Doubling issue.

I never withdrew, so I can't comment on payment issues, or lack of them.
