Don't I just know this is going to come back to haunt me :D

So, I've taken the simple steps of retiring 32red for the night :p

Now here's what I don't understand. Since this evening I've been trying to work my way up the Slotsmeister. I started off on Ladies Nite, which paid a good 500 odd times bet, then as per usual my balance was creeping up and down, but usually hovering around the same amount.

And then bang. It was like we've all talked about before - a switch being flicked. Bearing in mind I was doing 9p spins, with a slight variation of KKs method (swapping slots after hitting a decent win, or if it appears to be dry) I lost 50 in no time.

Now I don't intend, or even want to cash out. I'm just after getting as many spins as I can in the hope of hitting the dizzy hights of third on the table  Even so, I was pretty peeved.

So I moved over to Deck the Halls. I expect many of you are thinking. Choosing an ultra high variance slot after I had already lost a bit was probably not a good idea. I did 1p 30 line spins, and after 50 or so I hit the three bells. Past experience has told me not to be optimistic here. Yet I got 3x 3 santas and finished with around 60. Quite happy to have recovered my initial loss.

Now I should have walked away, but I thought I'd try my luck. BIG mistake. For time purposes here, this was at about 11pm. I went a mere 782 spins without the feature.....then I hit it and it retriggered the very next spin. So, here we go with 19 spins at 2x. I didn't go so far as rubbing my hands in glee, but I expected something.

And what did I get? From 20 spins at 2x, JUST the retrigger win and the initial scatter. That made me even more annoyed.

And so I sit here at 2am, trying to meet a deadline that just isn't going to happen, and decide to play again. I set 500 spins of Thunderstruck up, again at 9p. This had been cruel to me earlier. And suddenly I'm hitting the feature every 20 or so spins. And that loss was made up in no time :D

My main point of posting this, other than to give me a break from this huge pile of paperwork, is that I've always had this theory that some slots tend to pay during certain hours. I'd say I'll give it ago tomorrow, but I really hope to not be up at this time! As bar two decent wins, I'd hardly hit a thing before now, it seems strange that suddenly my luck changed. It's not the first time either.

I'm just wondering, is this just me trying to make something out of nothing, or have others received the same experience?

yes i think its safe to say others have had the same experience. still i cant quite grasp your point on this post ..... are you asking if the play seemed normal (which it does to me) or if the time at which you play makes a difference?

I think it was more along the lines of certain slots/games paying off better at different times...

I can't say anything, because I never tried to notice a 'trend'...you'll go nuts trying to figure it out, and if you can indeed find a trend, I don't want to be playing at any casino with that software.

Yep, winbig saw what I was getting at.

If this was the first time it happened, I wouldn't have made anything of it. But it was just like the idea of a mystery switch being triggered meaning the slots didn't hit a thing, yet for some reason at that time I couldn't not win.

I'm always looking for ways to 'exploit' slots and other games. Quite often I'm probably at a dead end, but on those rare instances that you come across something good, it makes it worthwhile.

My stats for the past few days all show the same thing - after midnight, my return was at least 20% higher than at any other time during the day. This wasn't all play at the same casino, but it was the same software provider. That's what led me to wonder if it was more than coincidence.

yes i do think time of day may make a difference , only because at certain times like after midnight there will be more players on the system playing the same games ..as to whether this makes a diffrence ... think it might do . but on the more popular games it probably would make a noticable difference.

That was my initial thought.

But as these are slot machines as opposed to fruit machines, the number of players playing a particular slot shouldn't affect the RNG.

Even if there was a random jackpot or a progressive, while that might hit more often, you wouldn't expect the payout to deviate too much.

As I posted in Rusty's thread, my mere 200 spins this morning were bad enough for me to stop. I'm going to try again later this evening, but I just can't fathom out why there should be such a noticeable difference.

Interesting thought, though again it would mean the slots are not what MG say they are. Is that possible? :p

Keep experimenting but keep in mind that even if MG slots payout is effected by number of players/time the number of players can never be determined and any timer would be on a cycle made difficult to detect.

I will always believe that software providers will code in elements of control in their software, it makes it so much more appealing to Casinos.
I think One very obvious One is triggering scatter symbols frequency and patterns along with bonus round awards.
Here is One that repeats often if you stay on the same slot, in the form of commentary.
(dumbing down:what:)

Ooh 2 scatters and again and again oh the bonus round wee!
Hey where did the scatters go?
Several hundred spins later...
Ooh 2 scatters and again and again oh the bonus round wee!
Aww it paid X5 bet and waiting all that time too.
