BetterValueCasino website update

I too wish you well despite my scomments as we need more and better UK based casinos. My scepticism comes from the way the UK casino scene and how the UKGC are doing their best to dismantle it bit by bit. I would suggest a better name but good luck and keep us informed.

Thanks Johnnymcc1966, myself and everyone involved want to create a much better experience than can easily and readily be found on the internet at the moment, to give a better offer. It's likely we'll start by between May and the middle of June. I won't post much if at all, until then as setting this up has become a 60+ hours a week job which I've been engaged in for more than half a year already. Our national launch campaign for around June time has just been approved (when UKGC license is approved) in terms of its content. We're recruiting from middle of next month, will be good to delegate some of the work load, although overall I'm enjoying getting everything ready. It's looking like the launch team will comprise a dozen staff now, bearing in mind it is a 24/7 operation, with ability to quickly recruit more personnel as soon as we need to. All systems go for later this year!

Hello I've logged in as it's nearly May 2023, and that was our earliest target for launching bettervaluecasino.com. I wanted to update since introducing myself in February, from now on I will log in here at least once a week. It has been useful to post here, I'm very pleased to be a member of the forum. In particular, seeing feedback that we would be more sensible launching with slot games and roulette rather than just online roulette.

The user interface for roulette betting is working fine, which has been thoroughly tested on computer, tablet and phone, most of the main platform is ready. The message at our website will be updated in the next few days. I attended the trade show ICE London 2023 (International Casino Expo) in London Docklands a few days after I last posted here, and I had meetings with 5 companies who were interested in helping our casino to launch. Our situation is now such that it should be possible to launch in September 2023 in the UK only to start with.
Regarding what we're planning to do, I spoke to slot game providers at the trade show, and came to the conclusion that at the moment we are looking for games with considerably higher RTP percentages than were typically available. Therefore, I took the decision that we should create our own slot games. It will be an estimated further 16 weeks of work, concurrently whilst the gambling license is applied for. Our games will not have the greatest graphics or animation there is, but they will be high payout. We won't have multi-million pound jackpots, one mini jackpot we'll offer will be a £500 win with "repeater chance". No 'wins' will be less than the spin stake value.

Roulette will have a maximum limit of £5,000 per spin for the UK, for players who can afford to risk such sums. We will also have lower limit tables, a minimum bet of £1 per spin. If you win, there is no maximum withdrawal amount. If you net lose with us, there is an up to substantial partial refund middle of the week, and once a month, which can add up to a majority percentage refund of amounts lost. It is very important that everyone can afford their gambling when losses are encountered, we think achieving this will be easier when operating on low profit margin after additional winnings are given middle of the week and end of the month (and Christmas and New Year). That's it our plans! I'm awaiting to see the government White Paper for gambling which is very nearly ready, I will log in from time to time now, and should be able to say the website has gone live in the UK in September.

Tombola Arcade do their own slots and have higher than most RTPs. They are not the greatest visually but you do get a fair chance of winning and some decent gameplay. I suggest you take a look at their site for some ideas for slots.

For pity's sake, why the ridiculous ignorant comments regarding AWS?? Do you not know Amazon makes nearly all its profits from web services and bugger-all from retailing goods, that some here seem to think is the link to Amazon! They are the best pound-for-pound webspace supplier and server and you'd be surprised how many on here use them, directly or not. It's exactly where I would go if I was the OP. ;)

I would hope you have some serious money behind this venture - as well as the UKGC license costs, there's the ongoing cost of having people on board to administer it as it's a minefield unless you've the right expertise.
Very few casinos will be successful with their own bespoke slot games: yes, they're cheaper to run as you won't have developer fees and can have a higher RTP but I think the odds are against you becoming a new 3Dice as unlike them you have full costs in a fully-licensed market. EGO (Playojo, Slots Magic etc.) began with mainstream slots and later introduced their own brand of slots for the very reasons you cite, Green Valley Games, (I know as I jointly designed one of them and still get a yearly royalty payment lol..) but the bulk of their revenue remains the 'popular' games and developers.
So I think it will be tough getting sufficient players if not integrating the popular providers from the start - another advantage is that the games platform will be fully verified and audited whereas your own games label will need its own provider license, checks and auditing before you can offer them to the UK market.
Finally, your most cost-effective and efficient way of getting players is through specialist gambling websites i.e. affiliate marketing as opposed to national media advertising and affiliate programmes need a budget as does any introductory bonus offer.

So it's a brave enterprise and I can only assume you've got good financial backing as tens of casinos have found in the last 3 years they simply cannot make a profit or even break even servicing the UK market (and that's those who haven't been fined!)

Good luck with it, would be nice to see a new entrant that lasts...

(Apart from B *****o with big funding obtained via fraudulent 1668/JAZ scam sites like Oceanbets ahem...)

Thanks for these posts, sorry I didn't realise there were 3 I hadn't seen.

I am in agreement with everything there except regarding affiliates, and it is essential to have serious money behind this, more than one consultant has suggested to build a waiting list of customers for this and then serious backing won't take too long now.

However we don't expect to have room in our profit margin to be able to pay affiliates ongoing rev share. The main point of this venture is to provide gambling at a higher payout percentage of income, the higher acheived the better. Our profit margin is 80% less than typical 2.7% +/- variance for roulette, as soon as cashback as additional winnings has been paid, in arrears. Were we to be starting a casino with a standard profit margin, I would agree that affiliates is a good way to build customer numbers.

Johnnymcc1966 thanks will certainly have a look at Tombola slots. I have seen some trade emails about new slots coming, and some have a range of RTPs starting from 88%. We're much more interested in much higher RTP games.

We have an operational user interface for roulette with live roulette from real casinos. Would it be useful if this was opened to the public? There's now a requirement that everyone has to be age checked even for demo mode play. I can contact the identity verifying company and UKGC on Tuesday to confirm it would be OK to do that. This interface can at the moment provide live roulette play with demo money. I could post back next week after I've checked we can do that with UKGC.

Hi folks I'm now running to the above post, I hope to let you know soon that you'll be able to play demo mode soon with live video feed. It's just reliant on an automatic age and identity checking service, and confirmation we can do that, confirmation will take up to a week. I will check with our suppliers it sounds a good idea, and then hopefully have this available within a few weeks time. Thanks again for all the posts.

If it were me opening a new venture... merely offering max RTP settings on established and successful game providers would be enough to make you stand out in the current UK market, and word of mouth alone could be very powerful. Rather than trying to reinvent the wheel.

Great idea to ditch the affiliate commissions, that should allow a lot of headroom for some decent targeted advertising to let folks know that you offer top player returns without the drag of having to pay ongoing revenue shares month after month.

I somehow missed this thread but having read it today for the first time I thought I’d add my 2p to the comments already made. Please excuse my brevity.

- You can’t write off Evo from your experience of dropped game rounds. Any UK player will want their games.
- You can’t operate a decent 24/7 business with 12 staff.
- I’m pretty sure the GC will insist on a properly licensed business premises rather than a fully remote model.
- Your business model of “best value” is admired but IMHO not financially viable after costs. There’s a reason why few casinos are offering top RTP’s. Consider an alternate brand which doesn’t commit you to this promise, launch high and see where you get to.
- I think you’re crazy if you think you can develop your own games. There are studios out there who have been doing it for years and struggle. You will need known games that players recognise.

The above said, best wishes and I hope it works out for you.

Mark

Sorry missed this one, you’re going to pay the cost to age verify visitors to only then allow demo play? 🤯

Wait, there is a market for belching, farting, swearing and cat abuse :what: :p

Serving video rentals on a Saturday, £1 an hour wages.

Had to stop as I was helping myself to 18 cert videos at age 16 and got the sack!
Did you forget to include the word "emptied" at the end of your post on purpose mate?

Just realised I said "end of your post" as well. Extra smut points awarded to me....

Good thinking yes re affiliate commissions. I'll do my best to sort out the slot games during the next month. I had one meeting with the CEO of a slot games provider - he said they could produce games for us paying out at a higher payout. It's a possibility but still I'm hoping what we've got planned for slots will work well. In order to run on the much lower than typical profit margin, we have to make sure costs are kept low. We have a company in mind to help us develop slot games.

Thanks very much Mark!

Evolution Gaming could sometimes be a very good experience when winning (I used to play Immersive Roulette) and they are definitely very popular. However, when I had a dropped round of £25 (which went on to win), I thought what if this had been a very large bet, eg £2,000 on one spin of the wheel. If such a glitch could happen at £25, then I don't know how it'd be less likely to happen with a much larger value.

I'll be reviewing the total number of personnel needed, certainly we expect to need more than a dozen staff fairly soon after launch.

Licensed business premises will be essential, hoping to operate for UK at least at a local industrial estate.

Sorry missed this one, you’re going to pay the cost to age verify visitors to only then allow demo play? 🤯

Yes we think it may be a good next step forward. Happy to have the expense of providing demo play, as other business activities will fund its costs.

Once that is up and running (expected within 3 weeks), it will be easier to make the casino launch happen sooner.

Hello, this thread was brilliant thanks so much for witty posts etc. I just came back here because our demo mode betting mentioned above in this thread is imminently available for live European roulette (sorry a bit behind schedule). When we've got it completely ready, just platform finishing touches now, I'll probably start a new thread about it, I am checking posting rules first to make sure I can do that, which forum etc.

I also wanted to post here today to let you know we've found a problem with our contact form on our website which states that messages are being successfully delivered but they are not! The messages are not arriving, the phone numbers work fine and e-mail given works fine. This contact form problem should be fixed within a day.

If you would like to use our demo mode not for real money live roulette, for UK players, we will need to verify that you're over 18 under the UKGC rules, even for demo play. Hopefully we'll get this automated very soon before the middle of July. You only need to be verified once, and then you can access the not for real money live roulette whenever you like. It will take just a few seconds when we install the automated checking.

In respect of the slot games discussed earlier in this thread, we're still working on this, meantime the live video feeds of european roulette are working fine from real casinos from which all the demo mode roulette results come from! It's real roulette wheels with real time live video.

We expect to launch the casino with real money gambling service at the beginning of December of this year. Anyway demo mode roulette is very nearly ready from us! Will check posting rules and post about it when ready if that's OK.

Hi folks, I'm typing in this thread on Monday morning 8.30am, hope everyone has a good week ahead!

Some of you may have seen my "Hi from BetterValueCasino, Saffron Walden, Essex" thread in the new members section, I was grateful to have been able to sign up to this forum in February. We launch our online casino in the UK only to begin with on December 2nd at 6pm. I and others around the world are working hard to make that a reality!

I am posting to advise please don't worry that our (currently just information page) dot com website is temporarily unavailable. The contact form was not working, most frustratingly it said "message successfully sent" when the form was completed, and the web designer for the front page is unavailable to fix it, away on holiday 2 weeks!

Therefore I've now given access to our website to our platform department and hopefully there will be a brand new message and the website back up later today. Not for real money demo service is coming online with us either later today, or in a day or two. When it is ready, I'll post info how to access the not for real money roulette service - it's demo mode but with real live dealers in real casinos around the world rather than an electronic RNG demo mode.

Briefly, I would like to let you know that I have seen the thread about reduced RTPs on slot games, particularly with concerns in the UK market! I am aware that RTPs have generally dropped, for games with a drop of 2% from 96% to 94% this makes a substantial difference to gameplay. I've "been there myself", for example playing Age of the Gods at Betfair with £1 spins, and getting a bonus round which paid a grand total of £1! I'm working hard to get slot games ready which have the highest payout we can get them, the minimum of margin - that way sessions can be longer and more likely to generate overall player wins. There was another thread on this forum about blackjack, and I didn't post comment there because to be honest I personally actually know very little about blackjack! I read that an optimal play RTP of 99.91% was being offered by at least one casino, I don't personally believe this, that wouldn't cover costs! In our casino's case, we're starting with just roulette and slot games, games like craps and blackjack will come later probably half way through 2024. I was shocked in a trade email I received to hear that a few slot games at times are running at 88% RTP (quoted in a range from 88-94%) that's a ridiculously low payout for players whenever games are 88%. I think 95% is low payout.

I think there's too much profit margin in the industry to operators, even with heavy gaming duty and tax in the UK - to make less gross profit made means less GGR or Gross Gaming Revenue to pay in duties. I would say the issue is:- players are not just going to gambling sites to be entertained, they do wish to make a profit on their activities as often as possible - but the operators are trying to make a profit too (a substantial one). It makes it much easier to make the player happy if the profit bias to the casino is a reduced one we think. Anyway, I'll post back when our website launches the not for real money service, very imminently now (players in the UK need to be 18+ to use the not for real money roulette service). I hope to have the service opened by this afternoon or latest tomorrow morning...

Some of you may have seen my "Hi from BetterValueCasino, Saffron Walden, Essex" thread in the new members section ...
Your threads are effectively the same topic therefore they've been merged into one. As per the Forum Rules please don't start multiple threads on the same topic. Thank you for your cooperation.

Thank you Maxd, yes OK! I'm printing out the forum rules on my colour laser printer in a moment as soon as I've posted this!

I've just seen the new website in progress and I expect it may take up to another day or 2 to have ready, it won't be this afternoon as the main web developer has just finished today's long shift. For not for real money demo mode, we will temporarily need to see document to show you are over 18 for UK users. We'll make sure that's as simple as possible, no delays like asking to re-send due to blur just as hassle free as possible. Starting just before the beginning of August we'll then be partnering with an automatic data company, so from then on age proof documents will not usually be required.

If there are any questions, I'll be pleased to answer them. If not, I'll post back here when the website is back in action with demo service, I expect late tomorrow or Wednesday. Now to print out those forum rules!

Edited on 7th July: Sorry for the slight delay! This will definitely be operational by next weekend, hopefully sooner though, there was a security certificate configuration to sort out technical resolved, the website had been giving a message that it couldn't connect. Hope to post back now very soon.

Sorry the website is completely down at the moment since a few hours ago. I need to get technical help because I am no good at websites or website configurations etc. I have deleted 'DNS' files in the page setup, not knowing what I was doing, in an effort to try to re-direct the site to an original version, and I've temporarily erased the website completely in the process. dunover did post about having people with the right expertise. I'll make sure this doesn't happen again, and there should be the original website up there within a few days of now, sorry for now it won't connect.

In respect of not for real money demo mode, I've just tested access and managed to play roulette for a few spins with the live video. So it'll be there available in a few days time, send me a message if you'd like access before then. Can't offer for real money because sending off for UKGC licenses at the end of this month, we need to allow up to 16 weeks. Sorry for the inconvenience, the website should be restored as soon as possible!
