Help Needed Soon

ok rob i'm finally free from work and got a little time, so i ran my vista registery cleaner and it found 85 errors so i had them all cleaned up,and i went thru my pc and removed all mention of royal vegas casino, so now should i reinstall or whats my next move gonna be???

Petey, run an adware/spyware removal program and then delete all the adware cookies it finds even the one that will come up at the top of the list and say MGS/microgaming and then restart the computer and run the registry cleaner one more time and then defragment your hard drive and then restart your computer and then reinstall the casino...

well i'm here to report there has been no change what so ever. What the hell could be wrong,if anyone other then rob is reading this i could use your advise also please

Petey, when you ran all those things we talked about above, had you already deleted the casino software and all traces of it from your system ?

Running adware/spyware removal programs and registry cleaner programs can still leave alot behind that needs to be removed manually. Did you try steps below.

Here's some info that might help you remove the program and then reinstall, steps for uninstall and clean registry.

1. First use the uninstall shortcut for the program software you are trying to remove. "Royal Vegas uninstall"

2. uninstall the program from Add and remove programs.

Process: Press start - Press control panel - Press Add and remove programs - Find Royal Vegas file and delete file. If it is not there it is already gone from the control panel!

3. Check (C) - drive - See if Royal Vegas program file is still in the (c) - drive after uninstalling file.
This can happen

Process: Press start - Press my computer - Press (c) drive - Press programs and then find Royal Vegas file and delete file.

Two Notes:
a.) If the Royal Vegas file is not in the (c) - drive the uninstall worked and you will not find a file to be removed, why? It is already gone! But in some cases when uninstalling files Especially some casinos like Microgaming it will leave the file in the (c) - drive that is why you should do this process just to check!

b.) When pressing (c) drive if it gives you a warning still open the file this will not affect nothing it is just a precautionary message.

4. Clean Registry.

Process: Press start - Press run - RUN BOX WILL OPEN - Type, REGEDIT in the box and press OK - Registry editor page will open - Press F3 on your keyboard and FIND BOX WILL OPEN - First put a check mark in all three boxes on the left, Keys - Values - Data. Then type Royal Vegas in the Find what box and press FIND NEXT. The registry will start searching for the file. After search stops the keyword/ keywords files being searched will High Light, Click on file and delete the file.

Repeat this process several times removing and deleting files and it will remove the remnants left behind in your registry from the program file.

Important Note: You can use different keywords to find remnants of casino programs.

Example: The name of the casino, Royal Vegas or Microgaming or microgaming casino ect, and each search will find different remnants left behind for the software.

You can use this when referring to other casino software as well, hope this helps!

Very Important: If you are in doubt dont take it out. Registry items make programs run properly on your computer. If you are not sure you can do this process get someone who can.

hello i'm back and to both sets of questions ,yes i have done all those things and it was all removed before i ran the registry cleaner, so i'm at a freaking loss, what other fortune lounge casinos have the free tournys, because it looks like i'm never gonna get this situation fixed

To confirm that it is or is not a problem on your end, I would suggest doing the following:

1: Create a new user account (XP, correct?): Old / Expired Link - be sure to create a password for that account.

2: Log off your current account or reboot and log in to the new account you just created.

3: Download and install the casino you're having trouble with

4: Try and log in to that casino

What happens when you create a new user account on your XP system is that account will start out with a "blank" registry when it comes to individualized settings, such as MGS account numbers, passwords, etc...the MGS software will think it's being installed on a fresh system.

If it STILL doesn't work, I'd get in touch with the casino and have them escalate this problem, because after all you've tried, it's pointing to a problem on their end.

Ok, you did all steps above including step four several times over manually using different keywords as suggested, Royal vegas, microgaming, microgaming casino, casino etc. After you did, 1) what did you find? and 2) what did you remove?

If you uninstalled the program and removed all the registries for Royal vegas and reinstalled the software it should be solved. "Unless you have a firewall blocking the program" Microgaming also uses "Thumpers" did you find one?

If there is several Microgaming software programs on your computer "you should have found the registries for those programs also during step four" this could be causing a problem, two programs can be conflicking with each other.

After cleaning your registry were all the Microgaming programs still running correctly.

I would also contact support of the casino again they should be able to run you through the process of removing all their software registry components from your computer, they know where they are located. If the person you talk to says they don't know how, ask to speak with someone in their tech department and they will know for sure.

I know this might be a stupid question, but do you do normal maintenance to your computer? Like sweep once a week and defrag, monthly. If not this can cause some problems.

One thing to keep in mind with Microgaming software it houses quite a bit of spyware, last time I checked over thirty, your spyware programs should be detecting these if not I would suggest Webroot.

FWIW, spyware wouldn't be causing this. If it would affect one, it would affect them all.

Didn't say it would cause the problem, just said it would detect the spyware that Microgaming has in their software.

Which is a false positive result from anti-spyware programs....MGS is clean. I (among others, I'm sure) would love to see specific spyware programs that MGS installs, if you have more details..

I'm curious also.......what spyware? Never heard of MG having any. Now RTG's from some sites, yes they do.

hey guys don't want anyone arguing over my problem, but i have removed all traces of royal vegas from my pc, then cleaned out the registry twice,i have also contacted their support several times and all they say is that they can login on their end and i can also login to the flash casino no problems either....i can access all the other mg casinos just fine and i had royal vegas on my pc for a year and never had any problems untill one day a week or so ago i logged in and i couldn't get in to the tournys so logged out and ever since then i can't log in to the download version

If you are making a claim like that you should back it up with something substantial.
"just run this program" is not an answer.

:what: No claims being made, just what is, when you run a scan on Microgaming software with webroot. "Will I dispute or lose sleep over it, No!" Also, considering I've not played Microgaming since the new laws were passed and I'm no longer allowed and have no Microgaming software on my computer, maybe they have changed their ways.

@ peteyweestro, Good luck with your problem, I'm not sure what else to say or try, except there is most likely a conflick between to of the casino software programs on your computer. I can't believe tech support could not help you more either with the problem.

To all have a good day!

DING DING, THE WINNER IS WINBIG!!!!!!i uninstalled everything again and recleaned out my registry and then restarted my pc and created a new user account then downloaded royal again and presto,we have action.I would like to thank everyone who took the time to help me out with this crazy problem i was having

This here may be what USA was talking about and what I've found each time I have removed it previously is that when you go back to bring up one of the MG casinos is that you will have to type in your account # and password...where before it would have automatically popped up in the window...although once you open up the software the Malware is re-installed and MG uses this Malware to track and make sure you can't open up several different accounts from the same computer....

Adaware has lost a lot of credibility over the last few years.
Also people need to be aware that most spyware packages will mark many things as low risk when in fact they are harmless or false alarms. Not saying that it is......but sometimes people get too excited over some minor little thing that means nothing.

That isn't "malware", it is the Microgaming master registry key, that has all the individual casino keys in it.
These casino keys store, and retain, your account number even after the casino has been uninstalled. This is what tracks whether you have an existing account or not.
There is also another key, which is pretty much a duplicate containing some default values. This may well be a backup key in case the main ones get corrupted.
Removal of both keys will convince the system that no MG casinos are, or have been, on that particular account.

MG have made a number of changes to file structure, and now have a common area containing most of the game files, and the files now in the Program Files folder are only a small proportion of the total.
Sometimes, when updating a casino, the change over in these structures causes the installation to become corrupt. This happened to my copy of Royal Vegas, but was fixed more easily than this marathon.

Platinum Play now also has the FL tournaments, so there is a back-up if RV plays up again.
