I play online slots since 2007.
I had won 13 jackpots between 2007 - 2010. Since then, 0. I don't play jackpot slots that much nowadays, but the games are harder and harder every year. Only streamers can win these days.

I blame variance for the difference in how slots play these days. I'm down roughly 6000x my bet size since the last time I cashed out. But then again my last cashout was over 10000x my bet size after multiple 2000x-3000x wins over the period of a couple of days.
It certainly feels like slots are rigged against me when over 30 deposits of 200x bet size cant get me a win over 300x. Then I remember that I am actually still ahead from my last cashout and I'm likely due for even more pain given that slots are supposed to be a losing venture and I'm still ahead for the year.
Remember when DOA was considered high variance? 4000x seemed insane at that time and many slots typically paid 1000x at the high end. Now 1000x win might not even make a weekly highlight reel. You have to lose A LOT to make up for those 1000x+ wins.

I feel like this is most definitely the case with Play'nGO at least. I remember before Covid times, Legacy of Dead used to retrigger very frequently for me, with 2 full retriggers on the first week of release. I have increased my betsize since then however, so not sure if its stake dependant.
Tell me about it I've blocked myself with GAMSTOP today again sick of depositing with little play just to be gone within half an hour. Today I've had £1000 without a decent bonus haven't had any win over £100 in ages now. I was prepared to lose. Nowadays i dont se any other outcome.
Ive posted my bet history 2 times, but infact. The same pattern can be applied to my all latest history. It's impossible to win. Youst goes downwards.
And when you win you "win" like 50 % of your bet back, so it just goes to zero in like 15 minutes.
Anyone had a decent win lately?
Or is this just happening to me? I mean i remember playing some years ago. A 100 euro deposit would last like 1-2 hours with 1 euro spins.
Now ive lowerd myself to .5 euro, cause it goes away to fast.

I've been playing online slots regularly for over 6 years and there's no question we are being scammed. Today I played at 2 sites, multiple games multiple times and only 4 of them came out a small amount ahead, every other game lost heavily, but worse than that, they're all playing roughly the same way. The patterns they have always played to have changed dramatically and this is what I've been seeing across the board:
Dramatic increase in dead and losing spins
Dramatic decline in winning spins and big drop in how much they win
Hardly any really big wins (£20 plus at 10p stake type wins)
Even bigger wins are now non-existent
Huge increase in the number of failed bonus attempts (double scatters not converting to 3) to the point I just ignore them now because there's a 90% plus chance you won't get the bonus
When you finally do get free spins or a bonus round they're hugely disappointing and very rarely get above £5 (at 10p stake), but they've cost a lot of money getting into in the first place
Games I've played thousands of times are now playing completely differently and can no longer be trusted
Certain nasty things that used to happen infrequently in these games, or even not at all, are now happening regularly or for the first time ever.
They are most definitely NOT random, in any way, shape or form, and have become really predictable (although to a certain extent they never have been totally random and have always played to certain patterns that could sometimes be predicted).
The games developers appear to be tampering with the games and rigging them to lose much more often, or at best creating lower RTP versions and the casinos are lying to us about which versions they are using. I've never seen games play so badly, so often, than in the last 6 months or so, to the point that a large percentage of them are running at over 90% dead and losing spins, game after game (and usually after a semi-decent bonus game win where you can get 6, 7 or more games in a row playing so badly that the money you just won goes almost as fast as it takes to wager that amount).
I now rate games developers and casino and bingo site operators on a par with online spammers and scammers who set out with the sole purpose of stealing your money. They are cheats, liars and thieves, and are showing their true colours now that the Gambling Commission appear to have stopped regulating them to any meaningful degree.
I was always prepared to lose money, it's the nature of the beast, but what is happening now is simply daylight robbery, with next to no chance to win any meaningful money.

It feels like the games (for me rhino, bonanza, doa mainly but a few others also) have some sort of master algorithm based on the volume and rate of money received, if it falls then the rtp and bonus frequency drops. I must've done about 3,000 spins across 3 sessions on rhino recently, and had only one 4 scatter bonus, in my experience that is unusual, also retriggers are rare and bonus guarantees have increased In frequency.
Doa my current bonus rate is 1/400, in three bonuses i got the grand total of 1 wild. £40 to get one 18p bonus, over several sessions the pattern of 'luck' feels identical, i keep checking the help file to see if the version is 94%, that's what it plays like.

That pirates megaways is one of the worst slots out there and templar tumbles is very high variance
