Hmmm - happy birthday Spear...i beat you by a whole 4 days :D Though you're probably beating me by a whole 4 years - or else you've had a hard life ;)

I moved this to a more heavily trafficked forum because this dude deserves acknowledgement to have a happy day!!

Thanks CM!! Yes Spearmaster, I originally had you stuck down there in Wild Cards, lol. Wasn't sure where to put it.

And Simmo!!! Happy birthday to you too!! Two Pisces boys working here.

Pisceans possess a gentle, patient, malleable nature. They have many generous qualities and are friendly, good natured, kind and compassionate, sensitive to the feelings of those around them, and respond with the utmost sympathy and tact to any suffering they encounter. They are deservedly popular with all kinds of people, partly because their easygoing, affectionate, submissive natures offer no threat or challenge to stronger and more exuberant characters. They accept the people around them and the circumstances in which they find themselves rather than trying to adapt them to suit themselves. They are more readily concerned with the problems of others than with their own.

Pretty good qualities for a job at Casinomeister, lol.

Hey Spear! Are you sure it's your birthday??

Damn, I can't hide away from anything these days! :D

Thank you everyone, your thoughts are always appreciated. Need a bit of cheer today and it's been coming in truckloads...

Gambling gods haven't smiled on me yet - got $150 from All Slots, which almost made it to my cashout level but then the gambling gods must have turned their attention to something else because it went right back down the tubes.

Other casinos offered me best wishes but no cash... LOL... day's not out yet so we'll see what happens.

To my many friends in here, thanks again.

Hey Spear! Are you sure it's your birthday??

Perhaps I forgot to mention that in the Chinese calendar, I am a double dragon... sometimes called a gold or steel dragon... so Pisces "offers no threat or challenge to stronger and more exuberant characters..." :D

I knew I should have brought him some dancing girls....JohnSteed, you are the best!! I read yours and Spear's post in the other thread about the video games...how nice you went and dug up the images.

Happy Birthday Spearmaster!

And a belated Happy B'day to you, too, Simmo.

Hope the casinos remembered and are generous.

Yeah, I knew that Double Dragon game... LOL...

(psst... it was Dragon's Lair... Space Ace was the sequel which unfortunately bombed! :) )

Chuchu - I haven't played any Playtechs for ages - though I used to think Chinese Kitchen was kind of interesting.

Maybe Harvey will spring for dinner... :D

One of the first "laserdisk arcade games", and to which the legendary Spearmaster would reign supreme.

History of the "Dragon's Lair" excerpt...

Dragon's Lair also makes the biggest inroads into popular culture since the Pac-Man bonanza. Lunch boxes, board games, books, trading cards, and a moat-load of other merchandise hits the streets. Perhaps best cementing its status as an early 80's icon, ABC's cheese-fest human interest show "That's Incredible!" features Dragon's Lair in an on-air contest between champion players. It makes another TV appearance as a permanent prop on NBC's popular sitcom "Silver Spoons", debuting in September 1983.

I wonder who those wonderful "champion players" that they mentioned were... Hmmm...

That would be me, except

* I was not a champion player
* The US champ - a girl from Colorado - was so flustered that I ended up demonstrating about 90% of the game :)

Really sucked because they flew her out to Hollywood with a friend, and had a limo chauffeuring her all over the place. I got paid the whopping sum of $50 :)

BTW, the That's Incredible show was Thanksgiving 1983.

Well, Harvey did indeed take me out to lunch - and then stuck me with a huge bill... LOL...

But da man took pity on me and Loaded me up at 32Red, and I also took a ride on the Wheel of Wealth at All Slots. And the nice people at Trident gave me a birthday bonus as well but Harvey was there too... LOL...

Thanks again, everyone. Been a mostly quiet but good day!

Thats what all the old ppl say ;) Remember when it used to be party party....:D

On the subject of anniversaries, tomorrow (or today for some!) marks a year since the "most users were ever online" on the CM forum. Wonder what the killer thread was? Spear's last birthday? :D
