Grand Slam of Slots

The one difference with another seat would be that you can have more than one winning position whereas with re-buys only the highest score counts and you won't get payout for a second highest score even if it was high enough to get a prize.

This is an excellent point. And a second seat would give you a separate hour to play for position as well.

Thanks to 32Red and the Slotmeister tourney, I have one seat, and a couple of other MG casinos are seeing me play the freerolls for seats as well.

But as said earlier, it makes little sense for anyone with a seat to purchase another, when a rebuy is only 20 euros.

BTW, can anyone tell me how to enter the euro symbol with my US standard keyboard?

I think it was foreseeable that tickets would be handed out at reduced prize towards that start of the tournament. As for someone who paid 150 for a ticket, well you can buy expensive jacket from a shop for a full prize or wait until it is on 50% sale, so I don't see how this would be different from that.

Also it not difficult to estimate that the true value of Grand Slam ticket is around 20 - 50 (depending on average number of re-buys per player, which I estimate is somewhere between 5-10) so paying anything more than that is a bad decision EV wise, but then again someone might still be willing to pay 150 for just a very small chance to get the jackpot.

I had thought of this, but MGS would KNOW that it was a single player with more than one position. There was NOTHING about this in the terms, because this eventuality was NOT initially catered for.

I have no doubt that the sale of tickets was intended right from the start, otherwise there would have been ENOUGH FEEDERS/EVENTS RUN to distribute ALL the tickets by "winning one".

It looks as though maybe there was an intent to run FEWER feeders at first so that MORE MONEY would be made from players chasing down the tickets. If there were MORE feeders, there may have been far fewer players chasing down the tickets with rebuys and continues. This particularly applies to those events with unlimited continues, where players were essentially bidding for the tickets by paying for the continues. These players no doubt are particularly aggrieved to see tickets now on sale for 150 and even 75.

Ladbrokes have a big freeroll for anyone looking to win a ticket. You still have to rebuy though so it is not really a freeroll atall!

How to Play...

Once the tournament begins you will be taken to the Grand Slam of Slots Freeroll . You will have 7 minutes to play from the moment you click "Spin" or "Bet Max". You are given 5,025 coins to play. Each spin will reduce the amount of coins you have. Each win you have from playing the slot will be placed into the "Win Box" - it is this score that is used on the Leaderboard and it is this score that competes against the other players. Please note that it is possible to continue play (3 for and extra 3,000 coins and 6 minutes) and rebuy (5 for 5,025 coins and 7 minutes) during this tournament.

Important: Slot tournament coins have no value other than as counters in the tournament. Slot tournament coins have no cash-out value. Cash is awarded if you place within the prize positions. The tournament will remain in the lobby for 2 days after it complete so that you can check your final position on the leaderboard.

How does it end?

Once you have used up all your coins or your 7 minutes are up - whichever is first - your participation will end. Simply come back to the lobby to see your position at any time (remember, other players will probably still be playing). At the end of the tournament (23:59:00 on Sunday 18th October) the prizes will be awarded to the top 500 players.

Special Tip

Instead of clicking "Spin" you may find it more comfortable to use your keyboard instead. Just hit your spacebar to Bet Max. Clicking the screen after your spin sometimes also speeds up animations so that you can get more spins in!
