And what a horrible promotion LOL :p :D must say Grand Mondial has gone way down since the time back in 2007 when i won a big win of around 12.000$ and also became VIP player, i used to receive nice presents or nice bonus around birthday and christmas, despite i still played there last year and start of this year, i got nada on birthday. Best they could offer was a 50% bonus. So i have left them, this surely doesnt help them hehe :p

Received this from INetBet and it's not anywhere close to my name. I don't even know how to pronounce this one:

Hi kjell e,

We sent you the following mail earlier in the week. However as you are yet to use your Present I assume this did not get to you. So here it is again.

Dear kjell e,

May I take this opportunity to wish you a very Happy Holidays.

We have very much enjoyed having you as a player at iNetBet this past year. We thought we would send you a little something to help add some extra cheer this Holiday Season.

How did they get your Email is the big question, isn't it? If you have never had an account there it seems odd unless Doris has a crazy similar addy... doubt it.

I also got someone else's email from Inetbet. I replied to it, told them I doubted Timothy would be using his bonus as they sent it to moi! I did get an email back thanking me for alerting them to this issue.

Since I'd already received and claimed my Xmas bonus, I knew the mail was NOT intended for me. I think there are times emails are intended for the addressee, but the name and/or account field ends up incorrect.

I can see that happening. jelsmith doesn't have an account with them though. They should have no way of knowing her address. Since they do I would assume that they gained it wrongfully or had it given to them wrongfully. They are supposed to be secure with your email addresses, correct? It's not me but I wouldn't be very happy about it if it happened to me.

Beats me.....

Maybe you had an account with one of their previous white label casinos like Players Palace, or another?

Do you have an account at CasinoShare?

I can only guess you have one at one of their casinos or white labels and they had a goof somewhere when pulling addresses. <shrug>

This is STILL a leak of personal information to a DIFFERENT player, regardless of how it happens.

If we are to accept that this will "happen sometimes", we also have to accept that there is always the chance that OUR data with be inserted into a template and sent out to a DIFFERENT player.

This MIGHT be a problem if the error ALSO sends a "password reset" request to the SAME wrong email address, as this would enable a full account hack.

Even if it does NOT, the account number alone is enough to create "mischief" by requesting a password reset, which will have the effect of making the account appear "locked" to it's owner, who would also know damn well it should NOT have been, nor subject to a password reset.

If they won't listen, try this - it might MAKE them listen once they see how SERIOUS an issue this is.
