Hi there All,
Hope you are well.
Please note that this matter should be resolved and it was nothing to do with the actual link itself but more with the downloader.
Can I please ask that everyone please test this and make sure everything is in order?
Do not hesitate to contact me if you find any problems in this regards.
Best regards,

My point EXACTLY!
Most of us DON'T NEED or WANT these little "download helpers". They are sometimes incompatible with features of individual OS configurations. IE and Firefox have their own built in downloader, which is simply "save target as", and the link need only reference the actual "exe" file containing the installer.
I don't believe I EVER had such problems in the old days when all MG installs were just a case of saving the 4 to 6 Mbyte exe to desktop, and installing locally. Now there are a number of downloaders, some show movies, allow you to look at offers, and worse still override your OS preferences as to where to save the installer. Most place it in the windows folder, which is not good as it clogs up the OS and is hard for the novice to get rid of. Worse, if there is a failure, the player has no clue as to where to look to attempt a local "run" of the exe.
The latest downloader, the one that I believe Grand Mondial uses, is the worst of the lot. It shows a simple banner, and it just sits there, and sits there, and gives no feedback whatsoever as to progress, making it look like the process has hung, which in some cases it has.
This downloader will cause problems with VISTA, as it attempts to do several things that VISTA considers "insecure", and it will be blocked. One is downloading directly to the windows folder, rather than the desktop, and the other is attempting to create a separate root folder rather than using the programs folder. I have also noticed the downloader makes more connections to DIFFERENT internet servers than would seem necessary for a simple download. This leaves many points of failure, as if one of these servers fails to respond to the downloader the whole thing hangs.
I once had it hang for over 15 minutes after simply disappearing altogether, and no application was seen running in task manager, nevertheless, a while later the MG casino fired up out of nowhere, and opened the casino straight away.
We should go back to basics, have a straight download (after all, who the hell is going to try MG on dial-up at the current size and even remotely NEED a managed downloader)
