Hi, all!

So I was eagerly awaiting my withdrawal 790 euro from Ovo Casino. (Quasar)

Suddenly my virtual VISA balance was twice the amount of the withdrawal. Almost 1600 euro.
I contacted them and let them know via chat, sent an email with screen shots. They seem really happy about it:)

Question:

Would you have done the same? ( I did it because most casinos have always treated me fair, and it should be like that when the situation is the other way around)

PS:
Damn, 800 euro is a nice computer:)
Do you think I will get a free bonus now? LOL:)

Have an absolutely fantastic weekend.

Hi dagobert! You're a great guy friend :) I am personally do the same, because it is not mine money, i never had it, and it is just a simple mistake. So return it is not even good will, it is action which will make any good person.

Re free bonus for you, i believe yes, they owe you something good, because you was very fair and honest with them, and show them their mistake(probably save a lot of money).

That actually happened to me about a month ago on a different casino. I was in contact with them and they just deducted it from my next cash out because it couldn't be reversed on their end. I had no problem with that since it was their money, as a matter of fact I found myself trying to hurry up and win so I could give it back.

Good on you for doing the right thing

I had a similar situation earlier this year with BETAT. They paid me 6000€ instead of 3000€ to my web wallet. I contacted support and deposited the extra cash back to them so the issue was solved in no time.

I too have been treated fairly by almost all casinos I've played at (all but one actually) so it felt good to do the right thing. Did not expect a reward and didn't get one.

Sort of the same thing happened to me several years ago when I played a lot at Betsafe. I requested a withdrawal of 20.000 NOK and got paid 20.000 EUR. I like to be honest and thought about it for a few minutes before I contacted them and got details to send back a specified amount. I did get a cash bonus from them for being honest.

I would of told them as well, The last thing you want is them trying to take it back out of your bank,

Also it could of happened to alot of people and as such you may get a bonus :) Also look out for twice the amount took out of the bank,

A casino a few weeks ago gave me £50 for a deposit, I told them that I did not deposit at week end, He said thats not what there end states, Anyway I did not and was told to keep the bonus

Honesty is the best policy, you did the right thing and I would have done the same.

However 'give and take' is also a good policy and although I would not 'expect' anything for being honest I would be a tad *'Insert word I can't think of'* if a small return of good will was not made.

I think I recall seeing this sort of topic before and on more than one occasion the more reputable casinos had told the player(s) to keep it!

As everyone else has said, Honesty is always the best policy.
I would have returned it. My personal integrity is more important to me than any amount of money.

I have always informed the casino when this happens. I have been told that they often discover these mistakes during an end of month audit, and will then ask the player to return it. However, where the player volunteers the information they often get a bonus for their trouble, and if they are really lucky, will be allowed to keep the lot. A player that keeps quiet won't get a bonus, and if they try to wriggle out of giving the money back, they would probably get the boot, and possibly added to a list of "dodgy players" that might make it hard for them to play elsewhere.

I think it was 32Red that told me I could just keep it. If I recall, it was £2000. Other times I have been given a free chip of around £100.

Geez people, aren't we all super honest folks :eek2: ..... makes me nearly puke to read the posts :puke: ....sorry to say that!!!

Everybody and everything has his price, firstly. No exception.

Secondly, if any of you/us would know that the casino has no way of finding out that they double paid a substantial amount, would you/we still say something???? The answers given here are all based on the knowledge/assumption the casino will find out eventually.

This has never happened to me but if it did I would give it back to the casino. Although if you use a webwallet and are on a lucky streak it with withdrawals coming in from several casinos it might take you a while to pick up on the double payment:D I would still give it back as soon as I would notice the discrepancy.

I compare it to getting change for a $50 at the store when you only gave the clerk $20; this has happened to me in the past and I always let the clerk know that the change is wrong.

At the end of every error like this there is a person who is responsible for it so people ought to be mindful of that; it's easier to speak up when it happens in the real world as you see the person who made the error. In the virtual world you don't you only see the outcome so it would be easier not to say anything although I don't think this is right even if the error would eventually be picked up by the casino. So I would give it back whether the casino will find out or not.

I am honest person so I would be able to sleep well knowing that I have done the right thing.:)

Very honest of you.

Yes, i would have done the same.

I did return a large sum of money to a casino that would probably have never found out. I would not been able to keep it in good conscious.

Of course I would inform the casino. It has happened twice to me, once at 32Red for IIRC for $200, which I was told to keep, and once at a RTG casino where I was told to make a deposit and they would remove it from my account. I think that was $50 and I did not even get an email thanking me afterwards.

Maybe "miffed" is the word you were searching for jon. It is how I felt, but more because of the lack of thanks than the lack of a comp. Since my RTG account is in USD, i lost around $3 in the process. Win was from a free chip, or I would have asked for my $3 back otherwise!

Yes indeed, Miffed is both accurate and polite, excellent choice!!

I had this a few years back double payment for around £400 to neteller platinum play when they accepted UK. Was told I could keep it and take it as a comp when I let them know ) happy days until i squandered it all back in plus some

BET-AT overpaid

just had this case last night at Bet-AT:

I withdrew to my Ecopayz account AUD9,000 from the nice DOA payout i had on a AUD9.00 bet. Checked this morning and they paid USD9,000. Converted to AUD that was a surplus of AUD3,000.

Hmmm, what do i do now? LOOL ...... Of course i contacted LiveSupport the soon they came online and we got it sorted. I just returned the overpaid funds

Daniel promised me a nice bonus for my honesty, will have something to play then later :)

Cheers
Harry :)

Closed my account.

Update.

In my case it ended up with them giving me a tiny bonus with an insane wager requirement.

To me that is worse than getting just a thank you.

I concider those kinds of "bonuses" more of a slap in the face than a nice gesture, as it is an insane amount of playtime for nothing.

I actually closed the account, as I hate such "bonuses" + a little dissapointed really.

"Typically, 20-30 euros with 50-70 x wagering and max payout 10 times bonus..."
