Hi,

After the last Google News update, you no longer need to apply for Google News but have to keep posting and have your fingers crossed.

Any idea of what does it require to get approved faster? Do.you think AMP optimization helps?

Casino Gazette has been accepted as a publisher and it is advisable to apply to be a 'Google News Publisher' - but you are right in the sense, that now their algorithm decides which articles and from which sites they list under the news tab on google. Being accepted as a Google News Publisher does not now automatically mean your articles get listed under the news tab.

Enabling AMP for your mobile site IMO is not a factor on getting your articles listed.

You also do not need to be accepted as a publisher to have your articles listed under the news tab, but it is worth applying regardless.
