Well I've already threatened, and since they won't keep a leash on their spamming affiliates, I've decided to close my accounts. I just got 5 mails from that stupid SP casino guy - I've reported them over and over and the spam keeps coming, so I just uninstalled and filled in the 'sorry to see you go' form. I doubt if they really care since I didn't spend a whole lot of money there and I'm not a VIP, but even my little deposits won't go to a casino that condones or tolerates marketing spam.

Maybe I'm getting crankier as I get older, but lately I don't have patience for casino shenanigans. Lousy CS - uninstall. Spam - uninstall. Pissing me off for any reason - uninstall.

Well you know, I occasionally get spammed by affiliates of other places and when I report them to the aff program, it stops.

This bozo I've reported 3 times and they haven't done diddly. I thought that it had stopped but it turns out that the mails are being held on my server. And this isn't just an occasional mail - it's spam bombing - they come 4 or 5 at a time sometimes several times a day. They're using forged email addresses so I can't block them - and why should I have to? If a casino or group is using affiliates to market their casinos, they need to take responsibility for those affiliates. If they choose not to, then that's not a place I want to do business with.

Also, this is a non-gaming email address, so obviously this spammer bought a list of emails and is just throwing this crap out to everyone - like the King's Palace junk.

It's not just email, they are now spamming the TELLY. It seems they have just embarked upon an agressive marketing campaign. I have never seen so many ads for the same casino in such a short space of time. Maybe they ARE turning a blind eye to the spammy affiliates for the duration of this campaign, and are holding off looking into, and acting upon, the exceses until it is over. Something about the structure of the program must also be driving affiliates to such measures. This could be a target of a certain minimum of new players with failure being punished by a drop in the rate of commission for all. Affiliates who find this a struggle may resort to such aggressive spamming tactics in order to catch up to their targets before they are "punished". Sales targets have always lead to shady sales tactics, and has been a long running problem in many industries.

This could backfire though, as unlike Casino Rewards, they have access to the UK media, and this could be taken from them if complaints about the spam bombardment reach UK authorities tasked with regulating advertising. In particular, the use of fake casino names and fake email addresses, often alongside misleading offers, could lead to them getting into serious trouble.

They're not allowed to do TV advertising in Canada - although I think I've seen recently an ad for someplace (Jackpot City?) but it's for FREE games, not the actual casino.

Just said goodbye to the Casino Rewards Group. Have been a long time patron, many many deposits without a bonus...and really alot of deposits. Tried to redeem a lousy $10 rewards and it would not let me...""account suspended from getting promotions....really? Just told them to close my account, their loss not mine. Been getting really sick of the hassles of playing online and I have played since the beginning. It just seems to be getting worse everytime I play. I do enjoy microgaming but will have to get over it I guess. Hello Vegas

In no way is this affiliate "accidentally" spamming through misunderstanding the dividing line between legitimate marketing by email and spamming. This is an "industrial" setup he has here, and an adaptive and well designed one intended to beat the protections that many email providers and third party vendors supply to help manage emails. He has also bought up a hoard of legitimate domains, and has a working knowledge of fraud as it applies to the email protocols found on the internet.

There is also targetting, and overwhelming a single email address like this is intentional, probably thinking that they have to overcome an email filter using a "brute force" attack in order to get a fraction of these offers through to the inbox of the recipient.

I also know of a way to identify this "asshole" should he spam MY email.

Even without fakery, surely this is just their outbound email server IP address, which is down to their ISP. It is not necessarily located where the user lives. I would trace back to "Reading", where my ISP has it's main regional hub, but I don't live in Reading.

What you want is information personal to this spammer, such as his affy tag

Before you open an email if you mouse over it and right click you should get a smallish drop-down window, with options like - view email source, click on that and it opens up the header etc .

I know how to find the headers, silly. I have this program called emailTrackerPro that finds out all sorts of info too. FWIW, here's a few of the headers - the first two got through and the last one was stopped by ASSP:

Quite, but there is an easier way than decompiling the Java or Flash


The main problem is whether Palace Group do anything about such a BLATANT case of a spamming affiliate.

One thing is certain, he MUST get his tag registered somehow, or all his efforts will be wasted as he won't get the credit for any accounts created from his links.

I will keep watch on my spam filter for any of this "Kings Palace" crap that ends up on the SP Palace fake landing page.

I think this could be much more than some small time spammer, as a snail mail I received years ago used this SAME "SP Palace" fake landing page, except that the leaflet showed you the domain as you needed to type it directly into the browser. Any tag must therefore get added at this point.

Either this marketing company sold their landing page to someone else, or this marketing company IS our spammer.

I didn't contact the rep, but I've sent several mails to wagershare who handles their affiliate program with obviously zero results. And you see the response from the casino CS - it's got nothing to do with them.

So....I don't really care anymore, I've made my position known by closing my accounts. Now I'll just have to do something at my server to block this stupid spammer.
