Following on from the sale of Highroller back in August to Ellmount Gaming. Full details: GiG offload Casino Brands including Guts and Rizk to Betsson
On the day of closing, Betsson will pay €31 million, consisting of a €22.3 million cash payment for the acquisition, plus a prepaid platform fee of €8.7 million. GiG will use the proceeds to repay the Company’s SEK300 million 2017 – 2020 bond
No surprise this news, I spoke with @LadyJelena about this a few months ago.
The next announcement is for MTSecureTrade to leave the UK market, so all the other 'weaker' brands will close leaving just Guts, Rizk etc.
Does GIG have much control in other brands, they just stop offering them to use MTS license? Of course if their paying customers are happy to leave UK but otherwise sounds weird to tell your declining number of B2B customers that they are not able to operate in UK anymore.
If Guts and Rizk would remain in UK under MTS license, what would be point to force other brands which are just white labels, to stop operating there? Not sure how many even are at the moment and wouldn't surprise if many happily leave the market and maybe don't have very long contracts about license and platform with GIG and have plans to swap it but GIG deciding behalf of their customers sounds weird approach even with GIG measure.
The process has been going on for a few months and the separation of the brands is nearly complete:You do not have permission to view link Log in or register now.
One of the final conversations I had with the affiliate manager last year said many of the brands were a loss leader in the UK and the bonus tax + other overheads would lead to a shakeup in Q2 2020.
Guts and Rizk are great brands and worthy of their high accreditation status here. The others are nothing special in this day and age.
