Get Minted/Virgin Games... Word of warning.

Slotster!

I predict a riot.
Not a complaint as such, just something I got stung with today.

I signed up to Virgin Games a month or so ago, had some fun there and claimed the 50 sign up bonus. Following the advice of some people on here, I decided to give 'Get Minted' a go today, as I enjoy the Wheel Of Fortune slots etc etc, and a similar sign up bonus.

Anyhow, I chucked my money in, had a play, lost, applied for my bonus by emailing GetMinted - and was told "Your bonus was applied to your account on **** December 2004." Interesting, as I literally signed up this morning!

Now I can only assume that with it being the same software, they mean it was applied to my Virgin Games account, which would tie in with the dates being about right?.. Weird. I'm assuming now that this also excludes me from sign up bonuses at all WagerWorks sites?...

I'm not complaining as such (mainly because I can't be bothered for fifty quid and it's probably my fault for not realising anyway), but you'd think they might mention it somewhere?!? I wasn't aware there was any connection between the casino's other than the games used.... Like I say, I'm really not mithered about the fifty quid, but it's one of those bad taste in your mouth scenarios that means I'll genuinely not play at either ever again. Quite enjoyed the slots too, and Virgin customer service were great. Ho hum. WagerWorks/GetMinted loss is most certainly 32RED's gain!

Just a word of warning really for anyone who might be looking to do similar!

But you're assuming here. Did you ask them why? Give them a chance to explain what's up. As far as I know, they are two different companies.

I've played at both and got the bonus no problem at both - I'd just email them explaining that they are incorrect as you'd only just joined the casino etc.

True! I sent this email about an hour ago...

Hello there!

Was that from another casino perchance?? I only signed up with Getminted
today, but the games are the same as Virgin Casino - is that what it is??

I didn't realise they were the same company.

My apologies!

No response as yet... They responded almost immediately to my other email, but nothing back on that one. I'll wait and see! I did just check my bonus confirmation from Virgin and it is the exact same day they've stated on their email, so that's got to be the only answer! The format of the emails and the ID/Layout etc are also identical.

You're right though, I should wait and see if they respond! Cheers!

Well.. No word back from Get Minted... Bit disappointing really. I sent another email shortly afterwards explaining I'm really not that interested in the bonus anymore, but just curious as to why they've linked the two together.

Not so much as an acknowledgement.

I guess four or five hours for a response isn't the end of the world, but it's curious how quickly they responded initially to say I wasn't eligible.

Live and learn...

I'll update this thread if they decide to get back to me.

This is odd. I have an account with getminted.com, which is the same as attheracescasino.com aka betatthecasino.com. I tried to use the same userid/password at Virgin Games and it would not let me in.

There's something I never thought of... I do have the same username at both! I wonder if that's screwed something up internally? Interestingly, I just checked the message details of the email from Virgin and the one from Get Minted, and both are exactly the same extensions in terms of where they originated from.

Still no reason why they've not got back to me though!

I have the same username at Virgin, Get minted, Paddy power, Price is right, Hard rock and Sky. I have had no problems getting multiple bonuses from them (monthly from Paddy power and Get minted send me a decent offer every few weeks).

As mentioned above though, Get minted is the same as betatthecasino, games xtra, get minted xtra and others, and you can't get bonuses at more than one of them.

I've only ever signed up at two wagerworks sites! Virgin in December, and Get Minted this morning. No response to any of my emails yet... :(

Email at 23:35 this evening...

Hi XXXXXXXXX

Thanks for your email.

Sorry about the confusion you have experienced.

We are a Customer Service Team provided by a company called WagerWorks. We provide customer service for a number of different casinos and poker rooms, we also provide the software for the different games on the sites. We provide support for Virgin Games and Get Minted Casinos and although you have noticed that the games look the same they are totally separate sites.
You will see at the bottom of both sites a small red and white 'WagerWorks'link which will give you more details about our company.
I think my colleague has checked your Virgin account instead fo your Get Minted account, you received your Virgin Bonus on xxx December 2004.
I have checked your Get Minted account and have now credited your sign up bonus to your account.

If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us.

There you go...

Sorted in this instance, but makes me a bit edgy about what information is flying about where, if a call centre rep can access and indeed influence deposits and balances across supposed entirely different casinos... Ho hum.

It's not really that unusual for a single CS team to support multiple casinos. All the Odds On's are supported by the same team, you usually get asked which casino you're playing at if you go to an RTG Live Help window and all the casinos in each MG Group share a CS (think FL). I remember being taken to task by the Promotions manager at Omni for my play at Caribbean Sands. It's a horribly incestuous world...
