Yes, after the collapse of their affiliate programme and resignation of their CEO, it's bye-bye to these 14 casinos:

Genesis currently operates:

Casinoplanet.com, Casoola.com, Kassu.com, Casinocruise.com, Casinogods.com, Casinojoy.com, Casinolab.com, Casinomasters.com, Genesiscasino.com, Pelaa.com, Sloty.com, Spela.com, Spinit.com and Vegashero.com in Britain.

Funds to be taken out by end of month, no play there for UK customers as from 7 Dec.

Respected you?
Really?
I always thought they were professional payment stallers. 6 weeks of suffering for anything over 5k
I remember opening an account at Vegas hero, nice mobile casino,. No lag :),
asked for verification right after deposit, support told me that it wasn't possible as per my security hahahahaha
Insta closed my account :)

Worse than just leaving the UK market -

They're also stiffing their employees.
Shame, big shame. I feel for them. As an affiliate, I've only lost a few hundred euros since they last paid end October, these employees will each lose 4-figure sums sadly, I hope they at least get some of it. In the UK, statutory redundancy pay and notice is paid or made up to full amount by the government (eventually, when the administrator works out the shortfall) but I guess in Malta they get nothing. I know other affs owed many thousands, but at least they've still got their jobs. What shit news before Christmas.

They are not replying to emails I have sent them regarding a small withdrawal I am owed by them. Since 1st January, 2023 no replies at all, even an automated system reply, despite them saying if we emailed support after 31st December they would sort out any outstanding withdrawals. Anyone else had this? The amount isn't really worth spending time chasing or an MCOL small claims claim. Leaves a nasty taste in the mouth....

Aha, just read through above, insolvency coming so definitely won't be wasting any more time chasing.

According to the UKGC in the UK customer funds should hbe 'ringfenced' so you should get it.

OK, thanks dunover, hadn't thought of that. This is the first time I've had a uk casino go t^&s up on me so didn't know that.
Don't worry, they owe me 150 quid in affiliate commission which I've had to write off as the bankruptcy in Malta has declared near to zero assets/funds.

Coulda had the heating on for a couple of days with that.

Anyone know how one goes about putting in a claim for "ring fenced" funds? I've emailed UKGC (online web form) but they say up to 20 days for reply.
In practice they will be quicker than that to reply - the problem is, Genesis don't have any staff now to process the money so I'm not sure what happens in this scenario.

Also, from my reading of things, 'ringfencing' means about as much as the CEO keeping the money under his mattress regarding player funds safety, but I hope I'm wrong.

One of the first pioneers of lowered RTP in the UK right from the inception of Genesis Casino, it beggars belief that they couldn't stay afloat on 91% Play n Go. Or perhaps players are getting smarter. No loss at all.

Oh dear, surprise surprise, UKGC about as useful as a hole in the head. To cut a long reply short essentially they say that Genesis left their jurisdiction on 6th December therefore nothing to do with us! Ha, so ring fencing basically means naff all, surely not, the UKGC utterly useless in protecting players, can this be true? lol absolute clowns.

You'd have thought on 6th December when they say they want to leave UKGC would tell them they cannot leave until the ring fenced funds are transferred to UKGC holding account! How difficult is that, idiots?

Come hither crooks, one and all to the wonderful over regulated/non regulated UK gambling industry where you can set up a casino where you can pretend to your clients that their funds are ring fenced when actually no such protection exists, so use their money for what you like, run up huge losses, who cares! When the show is over and the game is up, nevermind, hand in your notice to leave and you'll be free and gone!

TBF to UKGC this is their full reply to my enquiry about how I get access to the protected funds of a recently insolvent Genesis Casino Group.

Dear Mr Apoplectic*,

Thank you for contacting the Gambling Commission regarding Genesis Global.

I understand from your correspondence that you have seen Genesis Global have gone into insolvency and have concerns regarding funds you have still in your account with them.

Firstly, I am sorry to read that you are having difficulty withdrawing your funds with Genesis. However I must advise that in our role as regulator we are unable to assist you in getting funds back.

Additionally, I must advise that the licence in which Genesis were operating under has been surrendered December 6th 2022. Therefore, I am afraid we have no regulatory control over them anymore.

However, with the above being said when a business decides to leave the GB market, we expect the gambling businesses to have plans in place, to make sure that consumers are not unnecessarily disadvantaged as a result of closure. The Gambling Commission issues a reminder of expectations to licensees leaving the market to ensure this.

I also recommend that you first fully exhaust any correspondence you may be having with the websites in question first.

As the amount is under £10,000 you can look to go through the small claims court. Further information about this process can be found

for further information.

Regarding your concern surrounding the business have gone Insolvent. I would advise that as a former licence condition the business must have also adhered to, is making their customers aware in their Terms and Conditions about their “Player Protection Fund” should they go into administration.

There are differing levels of protection, no protection, medium protection, and high protection. Regarding what level of protection Genesis held, you will need to ascertain this information from Genesis directly.

For your further viewing, I have provided you with information below which explains the requirements and protection levels in greater detail.

Well what the f*** are they there for, then? :what: So they are admitting that any Casino under their "jurisdiction" can simply quit, bugger off with the money and there is nothing they can or will do about it.

So much for only playing at UKGC sites to ensure you don't get ripped off. :machinegunner:

It's a fucking disgrace - simple as.
So it proves the UKGC'S ringfencing is as useful as a chocolate tampon. So:
We request licensees ringfence money to 'protect player funds'.
The time this is likely to be of use is when the casino can't pay and goes insolvent.
At that juncture, they have no employees to action anything, no assets to speak of.
Then, the UKGC tells you there's fuck-all they can do about it BECAUSE the site is insolvent and has surrendered their license.
If ever there's a definition of Catch-22 then surely this is one of the best!

The only good thing about this whole clusterfuck is that we now all know as players that 'ringfencing' is absolutely NOT a type of Escrow the UKGC use, it does NOT involve any guaranteed monies being held in a safe account to pay UK players. It is simply an accounting slide rule used when the casino is actually in operation under its license.

The only thing I could suggest is that if you used a debit card and are owed cash, you technically haven't had your entitlement under the transaction(s) you made and take it up with your bank. And don't let the buggers tell you "They did provide you with gaming chips at their casino therefore you are NOT entitiled to recompense..." To be paid winnings is a pertinent and indisputable part of a gambling site transaction. Any County Court would agree with you.

As for their ridiculous advice:

"One of our licensees has folded, which we are aware of, and their license is voided with zero assets declared in the insolvency. So our brilliant advice to you is to spend some MORE cash, pay a fee and proceed to take this (now non-existent company) which is/was based in Malta to the Small Claims Court in the UK to try and get monies from those zero assets declared in their Maltese administration documents."

Brilliant, just brilliant UKGC. You ignorant, clueless, inept, incredulous bunch of useless cunts.

If that sort of official response isn't a green light for others to do the same then I don't know what is!

So alongside 'slot fun' deconstruction, accusatory tones towards players and unenforceable guidelines for casinos to implement, we can now cross 'Player Protection' off the Bingo card, surely the last bastion and useful purpose of the UKGC.....

Either through design or just sheer incompetence, but slotting's all but done in the UK. May as well throw a hat on it 🍹
