Hi can anyone help me? I joined genesis casino and deposited large sums of money and lost. However they emailed me asking to verify my personal details after depositing. I thought they are supposed to do all these checks before allowing you to deposit. Does anyone know if this is true?

They need to verify age and address first, which they probably do electronically, before depositing. You may then find subsequent checks are made of a higher magnitude for anti money laundering, RG etc. later.
So 2-stage process isn't that unusual. The pre-verification only has to be applied to UK players, assuming you are one and it's not necessarily everything a casino will require going forward.

If the licensee is a large operation and UK-based like say Sky Vegas, Coral etc. you may never get asked for documents as they have the means to do pretty much everything bar SoW behind the scenes, whereas non-UK businesses or smaller ones will be more likely to have to manually check items.

So since this morning I can't contact anybody on genesis casino. Has anyone tried their live chat? I can stay 1 hour on chat but no agent that will show up. Usually I never have any problems contacting them and I have a pending withdrawal from them.

The Genesis group have now started to ask for Bank Statements and all kinds to 'satisfy UKGC requirements' far and above your regular utility bills and photo ID regular stuff so I have just closed my accounts with them. If all other casinos follow this line then I won't have any accounts left but I feel that this is more because the Genesis Group has been on the 'naughty list' for customer complaints in the past and now they need to measure the skidmarks in your underpants to satisfy the UKGC's licencing requirements,or so they say. I'd avoid them myself as I cannot see them lasting too much longer with these requirements and 2% withdrawal fees.

Yes I also wonder what's up with the fees. I always pay around 15 euro feest for trustly withdrawals. I also wonder if anyone is able to contact genesiscasino? I can't seem to get any agent on live chat and I have been trying since this morning.
