I saw that tweet a few days ago, but seems since 2008 we don't have sudden financial crashes anymore.

Starmer's even going on about stationing British troops in the ukraine, not sure he'd be doing that if we were on the brink.

But putting on my 1980s and 90s hat, I can't help feeling a financial crash could be possible, I've read that the Met police is going to cut 2,300 officers this year and another 400 staff, why would any sensible govt do that with the violent crime and blatant shoplifting etc.. which is happening in the capital. It's just going to hasten the deterioration.

One solution could be mass deportations of illegal recent arrivals to help balance the books, but I just can't see the elite, who live in their ivory towers, signing that one off.

McGregor seems like a smart guy and knew right from the get go that Ukraine had no chance even when all the media and politicians were saying Ukraine was on the brink of winning etc.

Ya agreed. There is nothing worse than listening to a person all in on a political side. Some of these MAGA people are unbearable and I block them instantly. Same with the people who hate everything Trump. I think Trump has turned into a real pos but I can admit when he makes good decisions. Like Trans/woman sports/men in bathrooms stuff. Some democrats hate Trump so much they actually disagree with that stance just out of spite which is not very productive.

Same with Tucker Carlson. He used to call out both sides but now he seems all in with Trump on everything. I Cant deal with shills.

I dont know about the media stuff. Ill trust you on it because I have most of them all blocked. I know that there were reports that the media was close to being non existant and shutting down because of ratings. Maybe siding with Trump is the way to keep the cash flowing? Well, today marks the day when Liz Kendall earmarked changes for the much-maligned PIP payments, saving £5 Billion off the Welfare bill in the process....

The newly implemented system will require claimants get a grand total of FOUR points, out of a possible 21, to qualify for the lower/ default payment, so hardly 'difficult'.

And whilst it's been stated that PIP is unique in its non-means-tested criteria, as well as being difficult to attain, I've known people to say it's the easiest Benefit to wrangle, which I believe. Questions are softball and payments regular, and the old adage of:

"You don't have to be disabled/ mentally ill, just convince them that you are"

As much as I'd like to slate Labour, this is not the beating downwards unto the downtrodden as one might believe, as the help still exists for all and sundry, with little changed.

Lest we forget it was 'Austerity Cameron' who first implemented the reduction of Benefits recipients in a fairly brutal way (with Atos-led, confirmed, actually rigged 'tests'), as well as creating 'Universal Credit'!

They may resent the poor and working class they claim to champion, but it's fair to say that it pales into insignificance when compared to the Tories' open disdain of the underprivileged. Still, let's just be thankful Liz didn't abolish PIP altogether, as she'd originally planned to, eh?

Unfortunatley Barrage is just a pound shop Trump with the same world views and if Labour and the Conservatives are just two cheeks of the same arse then he is what is in the middle. We will see it again and again around the world besides a few Countries where hope for change in the next election will keep folk going only to find nothing very much will change once that hope gets into power.

I tend to agree, but there's less room to cover up failings these days, each successive PM has a smaller honeymoon period.

'World Views' will always be limited by what military action you can take to back it up.

Armies are quite expensive to maintain, and people will fight to protect their own country but not so keen on getting killed and killing for other causes, takes a massive propaganda effort like the Iraq war etc..

I think Labour's first year hasn't been too bad overall!

• So far, they've smashed the smuggling gangs by smashing records of unvetted illegal immigrants arriving (20,000 this year!),

• Tanking the economy in new, almost comical ways, setting new heights for cronyism and gift-receiving

• All-round gaslighting an entire nation

• Wanting pensioners to die off (before begrudgingly U-turning......and making up the shortfall by stealing elsewhere)

• Not wanting to do an inquiry into grooming gangs (before begrudgingly U-turning)

• Punishing the most vulnerable in society with Welfare reforms that even some Labour MPs thought were taking the piss

• Wanting to destroy large swathes of Greenbelt land that they downgraded themselves, so as to house the aforementioned boat-botherers

• Record Tax hikes and N.I plundering, in that short-term, blinkered commie way, to plug a supposed £22 billion 'black hole', which has never actually been verified, driving businesses and investments abroad

• Paying off their Union chums with disproportionate increases, whilst public services get even worse

• Warring with the farming industry, because they want their land, you see. Wouldn't be very efficient commies if they didn't try that play straight out of their commie handbook!
