Gamstop and the popular online casino

Hello everyone

I joined gamstop last year for the duration of a year. The ban lifts in April. I've found it to be successful. I have tried to join sites during the ban but been blocked from doing so.

Roughly a week ago I got the itch. I signed up to a very popular online casino using all my details that are registered with gamstop apart from the email address. I used an old email address to sign up with. I have tried this with all the other sites but still been blocked because every other detail (d.o.b, mobile number, address etc) have tallyed up with my Gamstop details. On this occasion, however, I was successful.

I'm aware that I have used a different email address and are therefore responsible for the hundreds of pounds loss that I incurred the night I joined. However the next day I felt incredible guilt and anxiety for my actions. Feelings I'd not felt for a while. I was gutted.

Then I started to think about how simple it was to bypass the problem gambler security this casino has in place. All it took was a different email address. So I asked for my deposits back the next day as I felt I wasn't protected. The return of my deposits would have felt like some sort of justice to me. Mainly due to every other casino having my back whilst on the ban and denying me membership whatever email address I used.

Eventually the casino got back to me after a week of investigation and lied to me. The said they wouldn't refund me because I used a different date of birth and different home address. This is simply not true. I used everything correctly. I thought to myself that I could probably use the casino responsibly as I hadn't gambled for so long. Well I was wrong. I must have made around 14 different deposits that night of varying amounts off two different cards! The first deposit happened and layed off it. Then a good few hours passed and the floodgates opened. The old irresponsible gambler was back.

I've learnt a huge lesson from it and never want to feel the way I felt the day after again. I won't name the casino right now. A quick Google shows that they have previously incurred huge fines from not being responsible and looking out for problem gamblers. It is also an accredited casino here.

Anyway, they've declined my refund and they've lied to me about providing different details. I've requested they send me the details I've signed up with as per data protection. So I'm currently awaiting their response.

Oh yeah and before I joined Gamstop I had self excluded from this casino also.

Anyway, I will update this thread with whatever happens. I'm aware I will get flamed for using a different email address but when you've got an itch you'll do what you can to scratch it. It's killing me seeing the deposits on my bank statement whenever I go through it so if anyone is on Gamstop, don't bother trying. We signed up for a reason. I'll look to extend my Gamstop membership. Don't kid yourself and believe that you've somehow gained responsibility thru your absence on the ban.

You are already in breach of Gamstop terms and conditions. (I personally dont agree with them). But by trying to login or signup to a casino after activating Gamstop will put you into a breach.

If you have a problem with a casino here, then do a PAB to resolve any issues to keep with the terms here.
But if you signed up with different details you are not likely to win.

Easy to test the casinos checks is to sign up with same details again to see if they let you. Then you will see if they are telling the truth or not.

I'm not really expecting the money back to be honest. I'm angry at how easy it is to bypass. It's simply not helping anyone who has a problem with being disciplined when it comes to gambling.

I signed up with a different email account only. So had I have won money and went to withdraw, what would have happened? Would the casino pay me or would they refund all deposits?

One thing I've realised massively is it's a no win situation either way.

If you get such an itch that you have to play, then why try to open accounts at casinos where you both have self excluded from and who are using Gamstop?
To me it seems like you just tried to use a safe way of getting to play for free, or you could just have chosen any other casino. There are plenty of them out there.

Record a video and sign up with the same details ( change email ). If email was the only thing different then I believe you have a chance. But I have hard time seeing that to be the case. But if it is, record it and do a PAB here and you will probably win. But if you had more details different specially DOB, then forget about it.

If you get an itch to play, you scratch that itch by trying to open accounts at self excluded casinos whilst on gamstop.

I don't really get your second point. I've tried lots of casinos and they've stopped me from signing up due to Gamstop. The reason I tired this casino is because they had a very popular new release slot that was exclusive to them. So I tried my luck and got in. The casino can look at my game history and see that I played on that slot first. Not that it really matters.

That sounds like Leo Vegas, and no, if you want to play you of course play where you have a chance to get your winnings, in case you don't try to get a free pass.

Thanks for your advice. I have requested that they send me the details I signed up with so I'm going to hang on with that. I don't really want to sign up with a new account because, honestly, I'll deposit.

To be honest all I want to see happen is the casino in question to tighten up their security for problem gamblers to create an account. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one playing/played there whilst on a gamstop.

You’d think but it was the same at Royal Panda in a similar thread - just an email address change and boom you have a brand new account.

Easily fixed by the casinos, for some reason they prefer to leave it so.

Hence why I signed up with my correct details other than the email. At least then if I won I could properly verify myself.
I understand your suspicions. You don't know me. I'm a faceless account on the internet. But I can assure you I wasn't after a free play. I made about 14 deposits chasing a win.
I feel I was let in too easily and believe that this is done on purpose.

I'd rather not name the casino as others might try but leo Vegas isn't the only casino that has exclusive slots.

Yes but if he changed one detail it shouldn't matter given the 4 or 5 out of 5 supposed rule.

Well, to me this sounds strange. Let me explain why:

Gamstop checks 5 details when a customer logs in to a casino. If 3 of these details match to a Gamstop registered player the user gets excluded.

OP is claming to be self-excluded both at the casino and with gamstop, but has managed to create a new account with same details by only changing the email, then login to deposit and play.

If this is the case, then OP will win a PAB. So OP, PAB and updated us with the result.

What I'm still see though is someone who have admitted that he have a gambling problem, but who are still playing.
That is really sad and you obviously need more help to be able to stay away from it. Signing up to Gamstop or SE is just, well really not much at all. You need to do a lot more, and ask for help.

That is if you really want to stop playing though. Maybe you don't?

Funny that, they seem to have a serious issue with this. There is a tester guy who has been checking these companies out recently and was able to open accounts, exclude and then open new accounts with a change of email address. Dodgy as fuck.

Not true, it's 4 or more. If only email was wrong it would have been caught so clearly something else out and it can only be first name, surname, DOB or postcode.

I will happily open a pab. Before I do I just need to read up on the terms and familiarise myself with it. I don't want to somehow jepordise it.

Gamstop has been sufficient. It has done its job well other than in this instance.

When it was launched it was 3/5, but maybe they increased it to 4/5 now.

They're saying I put in the wrong d.o.b and address.
It's quite simply not true. I imagine a pab process would probably confirm this.

Maybe they are not integrated to Gamstop then... I spoke to the CEO of Gamstop this week at ICE, she told me it still not a requirement to be connected to Gamstop which came as a suprise to me.

I know to those of you who slot regularly and have discpline that this seems strange.
Anyone who is on my level will completely understand the feeling of having a bit of spare money and fancying a go on the slots.
Gamstop is there to protect people like me who get this urge and I must say it's been brilliant. This casino is flawed though. It's the only one, thankfully, that's let me in.

No they are fully signed up to Gamstop.
I wasn't aware that you could pab this kind of thing. I was under the impression it was more for withheld winnings etc.
I'm going to read up about pab when I have more time today. Hopefully in the next hour.

I don't think I'm eligible for a pab. Just reading that a player cant open a pab if they've opened multiple accounts at the casino.
Well I have. This is my second account at leovegas. I opened one and self excluded before gamstop was available.
Then I opened this recent one whilst on a Gamstop ban.

Obviously this is where the flaw with the casino lies. There is no player protection.

For the record I'm not trying to deceive or commit fraud of any kind. My cards are on the table. I've admitted to doing wrong to get myself back into the casino. If anything comes from this I would be great satisfied that it would be the casino saying "yep we've been letting people in far too easy. We promise to make changes". That would be a victory for me.

Why do you always take the casino side? I've never seen you question why a casino allows a player to sign up again when self excluded . There are clearly flaws in leovegas and rp sign up checks considering how many threads there are about them .
