Gamrock.com (Net Entertainment) seems to have disappeared from the face of the earth. Does anybody know what happened to it? The e-mail address previously listed on the site does not respond.

Cashcade.co.uk is getminted, and highly reputable. I assume cashcade games is a rip-off of this legitimate business?

They're all part of Victor Chandler when it comes down to it - I have no more respect for getminted than any of the others that are associated and I'd advise you and everyone else to take the same stance.

For the record Gamrock did a pretty good dissapearing act a year or two ago owing players money. A p*ssed off player managed to track them down to the Opera Telecom address/phone number given here.

Firstly, Victor Chandler are a damn site better than your average online gaming joint, with proper customer service.

Secondly, are you sure they are a part of Victor Chandler. From what google tells me, they did some work for victor chandler in 2001, and that partnership was ended in 2003.

I can't find any evidence of any connection apart from that.

oh, and as cashcade is licensed in Alderney, and are a Wagerworks casino, which is without doubt the most reputable and reliable of all the casino brands, they are 100% rock-solid.

If you believe Victor Chandler is a decent place to play then that is your opinion. Most people believe Golden Palace is as well, but I've read stories about both of these that lead me to believe otherwise (unfotunately don't have the links, but basically they've both done some rather nasty things).

And no, I'm not 100% sure they're linked - just 99%. Mind you that 99% is purely based upon other peoples comments and similarities I noticed over a year ago now, probably not accurate at all

Also got to disagree with you massively that Wagerworks is the most reputable place to play. Virgin only last month renegaded on an email offer, both changing T&Cs mid way through and finally pulling the offer altogether.

I don't see Wagerworks offering a dispute service for anything like that, and personally feel much happier playing at an eCOGRA recognised casino myself.

Victor Chandler were involved in some very nasty insider dealing with The Jockey Club a few years ago which found its way into a Panorama TV documentary.

That said, I've no idea if WagerWorks have any affiliation with VC. I hope not, nor had any idea they might have.

You can't really compare WagerWorks and Microgaming. Clearly WW have had fewer issues, but they've been in business far less time with far fewer licensees. That said, if I had to choose one provider in terms of the general feel of honesty and integrity they give, I would go for WagerWorks. Microgaming licensees have had too many gargantuan issues - Golden Palace, Tropika, Gaming Club, Integrity - to get much of my sympathy on that particular vote.

apologies to cashcade/VC or whatever.

the info i posted was what i took off another site and i presume thats the same post dirk is refferring to.

i think the cashcade info was posted up as at the time i think gamrock was pretending to be a VC skin.

however as far as i know, the opera info is correct although is probably somewhat out of date, but could be worth trying.

GamRock.com is closing down.

I talked to NetEntertainment and they told me that they where closing down Gamrock.com.

I wonder if players and affiliates will be paid!

ern this company has closed down about 50+ times, dont worry they will spring up again, however any money they owe you forget about it.

Couldn't remember where this thread was yesterday, when I posted the following on the Wild On thread:

Someone was querying the Gamrock closure by Net Entertainment a little earlier, but I can't find the thread and this is a closure-related thread and is perhaps therefore the best place to post.

Net Entertainment management sent me the following response to an enquiry regarding the Gamrock closure. They are probably being cautious in not supplying the reasons for the shutdown, but this looks as if the operator initiated the closedown and NE therefore left the player notification procedure to the casino operator.

They do give a non-specific assurance that the players will be paid, however I don't like that phrase "on request" very much:

QUOTE:
We can confirm that Gamrock has terminated the agreement for their casino and that the operation was suspended on their request on November 28th.

We have been re-assured that they will refund all players on request and information how to contact Gamrock is available at www.gamrock.com. UNQUOTE

The Gamrock site is down, and there are no guide notes for owed players available other than the email address support@gamrock.com - hardly a responsible notification to players i.m.o.

We still await a response to our questions emailed to Gamrock management concerning their manner of closure, reasons for closure and what measures are being taken to pay owed players.

At last, a response from Gamrock after some 96 hours and a chaser. I suggest that any players who remain unpaid get their claims in chop-chop.

"Thanks for contacting us. We are the support team for the casino.

A far as I know all members were sent emails at various stages up until the close on the 26th. New members were also advised the casino was closing. All bonus payments for new members were paid.

At the time of close all members who requested a payment had been paid. We now have a few and I mean a few members, under 10 in total so far, who have contacted us ref. their accounts, these will be paid. And any other members who contact us will be paid if they are owed and money.

We have some accounts still suspended for possible fraud and we are simply waiting for proof of ID or other information needed so we can pay and close those accounts.

About 5 members have contacted us thinking they have funds in their account but either their account has had a zero balance or it has been bonus money paid into the account but the member has not played a game and so do not meet the terms of the bonus offer.

All members who contact us will have their account details checked.

The owners of the casino do not wish to give a reason for their exiting the Casino market at this time.

I hope that covers your questions, if any members wish to contact us we are still here at support@gamrock.com

This service will be available for a few more weeks."

I must say I was never advised that the casino was about to close. I never got a response from support@gamrock.com for any of my e-mails.

Yeah - I suspect that no emails were sent. This sort of comment indicates some ambivalence to me: "A far as I know all members were sent emails at various stages"
