Favourite Gambling Movie

Old thread, but I will chime in and say Rounders. That movie got me hooked on casino chips out of all things. I still crave having a Teddy KGB chip-set for my home game.

I have to get around watching Casino one day. I have seen some clips from it on Youtube, and it looks amazing.

Err what Casino is one of the greatest films out there - and I marginally prefer it over Goodfellas.

I seriously believe I've watched it in excess of twenty times, it's that good

Anyway my best Casino themed movie has to be The Cooler (2003)

I am a bit of a movie buff myself. And this is by far the best movie I liked to do with casinos. I know there is a lot of them. But this is my best casino themed one I liked a lot

'Lay The Favorite' is quite good fun, with Bruce Willis, from 2012

'The Great Sinner' is a classic, with Gregory Peck and Ava Gardner, from 1949

Just watched "Gilda" from 1946 with Rita Hayworth and Glenn Ford, absolute bloody classic, about a casino in Buenos Aires, and geo-political intrigue and romance.

There is a restored version out there on the internets, so look out for that one.

Great British gambling movie

Rounders, 21 and the Good Thief are a good start.

Though I do love Lock, Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels.

"711 Ocean Drive", a 1950 film noir, starring Edmond O'Brien and Joanne Dru, about greed, mob intrigue and the developing telephony of horseracing results. An absolute blinder!

Mississippi Grind was fantastic, was one I watched after reading about it here.

Cuba was hot and sunny, my first visit to the Caribbean side of the island, and the combination of sea and mountains was breathtaking.
