Excessive bonus requirements??? Not sure

Note: Sorry this is so long; I am just a bit overwhelmed.

Now I see why I dont take bonuses from casinos. I will admit I am not familiar with them at all, however this seems a bit excessive.

I joined a new casino last week and deposited $1200.00 and lost on VP JOB (this is my new favorite game. Had such a bad run with BJ for the last month, so thought I try something new and I am loving VP). The next day I received a bonus for $120 and thought what the heck I will give it a try. I read (not good enough) the T&C of the bonus. It stated I had to wager 15 times the amount. I thought not so bad, 15 X 120 is $1800.00.
I continued to play and had my (their) money up to $1700.00 and had met the WR, so I did a cash-in.
Received an e-mail the next day stating I did not meet the WR. This is part of the e-mail below.

To be entitled to cash out the promotional bonus, you are required to wager at least 15 times the value of your promotional bonus received. In addition, wager generated on all Power Poker and Video Poker games contribute a third towards qualifying wager. (e.g. $600 wager on any Power Poker or Video Poker = $200 towards your fulfillment of the wager requirements)

So, what I figured out is this. I deposited $1200.00 and they gave me $120.00 bonus. I had to wager my deposit and the bonus, which equals when, times by 15 $19800.00. BUT, because I was playing VP only a third of my wager went to the WR. So. Actually I had to wager $59,800.00 to be able to do a cash-in.!!! After I received the above e-mail I played some more and lost count of my play and stopped at $1000.00 thinking I had to be close to WR. I called the casino and she told me I had to wager another $2500.00 or so. Which I think she meant that amount plus or times 3 (remember the third in VP) so I went ahead and played some more and just as I was reaching my WR I start losing my money. I could not win anything more then a pair or a few 2 pairs and lost it all.
It was a long run for the $120.00 I started with, I even hit a straight flush, but all of it was for nothing.

So, my question is: Because I never, ever before played with a bonus and as I said I am obviously not familiar with them IS this a bit excessive for a bonus payout.

Have to wager $59,400.00 from a $120.00 bonus to cash-in?

I believe I am going to e-mail this casino and ask them not to send me any more bonuses. If they cant comply for some reason I will have to take them off my list.

I am really not trying to complain, because it was free money, but how and the heck can anyone ever cash out, it seems almost impossible.

Thanks, Sandie

This is not too unusual :-)

Hi there :-)

this is my first post in here and I hope you will all be kind because my English isn't the best as I'm German.

If you think that those WR are wild you are wrong. I'm playing at a casino which has even more wild WR but this is not the point. The point is that even if I may win 1,000,000 I'll be not able to cash in more than 2x times the bonus after playing through 30x or 3x times the bonus after playing through 100x.

I thought that I've won $1,300 a few weeks ago and I tried to "cash in" this amount of money but I had to learn very hard that $1,300 isn't worth anything because I won't ever get more than 2x or 3x the bonus. By the way, the casino doesn't accept any cash in via the casino software. You have to email them to do any cashout.

I'm not sure if it is legal when any cashout gets limitted by any casino and I've asked the casinomeister if this is legal but he didn't reply yet.

Whatever, HAPPY EASTER to everybody in here :-)

495 times bonus, this must be a record. I assume it was a Microgaming casino, so the best VP game is Jacks or Better with 0.46% house edge. Wagering $59400 on Jack or Better, your expected loss is $273, so after subtracting the bonus you expect to lose $153. However, video poker has a big variance, power poker even more so, so you can easily bust out. Your best strategy is to ask if you can get the bonus removed and cash out while you are ahead.

I tried to reply private but it didn't work :-)

Hello Bryan,

you don't have to apologize :-) I tried to reply to your message privately but it didn't work because I always used too much letters.

There is a statment by the casino which says: "In the event that any rules mentioned on the "Promotions" page contradict the rules mentioned here then the promotions page rules will supercede over the rules here." (I guess they want to say "supersede")

I think that the rules for the bonus which I got (301% bonus at that time) contratidicts the rules on the "promotion page." It is because there is a link to the "regular bonus rules" if you do use the really high bonus ... there is a link to the "bonus policies" but if you use the current 325% bonus (I used the 301% bonus at that time) there is no link to the "bonus policies" site. Ain't that any challenge for you to figure out about that? :-)

I think that the casino (you and me know what casino we're talking about) is major abusing those bonus "policies," don't you think so?!

I'll take your advice and avoid the casino in the future.
But it makes me think that you replied "those rules are too confusing."
I just thought that you've got more power and more knowledge about stuff like that.

By the way ... Happy Easter, Frohe Ostern

Connecto Casino, eh?

Yeah, they have the craziest bonus policy. For all the regulations and limitations they might as well make the bonus "play money". :D

Ah good old ConnectToCasino..............they definitely make their terms as complicated as possible to screw the player. I wouldn't be surprised if they started adding stuff to their terms like 'Any withdraws made between the times of 22:00-24:00 EST will have their winnings forfeited and their accounts locked".
